We booked the Newport Harbor Island Resort somewhat last second before our Folk Festival weekend. Overall we really enjoyed our stay! The location is unbeatable with gorgeous views of the water and bridge, especially from the outdoor bar and pool area. The pool looked so fun and clean and we regret not having the time to go for a swim! We had drinks and dinner on site a few times and had a great time- good food and drinks and the staff were always very lovely and personable. Our rooms were comfortable, cozy beds, good AC, clean facilities. One of the biggest bonuses for us was the complimentary water taxi to and from the fort for the festival- that was definitely a game changer. We noticed many other services available to guests (some with an extra fee, some complimentary) like a shuttle to and from downtown Newport, bike rental, yoga and Pilates classes right on the lawn facing the water, and a bunch more. We definitely plan to go back so we can take advantage of all the resort has to offer.

We did have some minors issues with the hotel, especially given the high price tag that came with staying there. Our shower had very poor water pressure and I noticed some small stains on the couch and chair in the room. There were three stairs leading to our room that we had to navigate with our baby’s stroller- I’m sure it’s just from the hotel being on the older side, but maybe something for the hotel to consider if they ever renovate. We also got coffee and breakfast from the on site bakery and were pretty disappointed in the quality of the coffee- the cold brew was very watery (but the cinnamon bun was phenomenal!) I was surprised the hotel didn’t offer complimentary coffee in the morning like so many other hotels do- it can be such a small but appreciated gesture.

The Newport Harbor Island Resort is absolutely beautiful inside! Our room was very comfortable and cozy and had a great view of the water looking out to Newport. The hotel is very tastefully decorated and smells wonderful. The indoor pool is amazing! The water was at least 80degrees and felt like a bath! We had breakfast in the torpedo room and it was delicious! The outside grounds are very nice and you can walk to the lighthouse! The views can’t be beat and the outside fire pits are lovely!

I was turned off by the $35 overnight parking fee and the $6 coffee. This is a very expensive resort and it would be nice to have parking included with your stay.

We loved our stay! The hotel is beautiful and clean. Our room was amazing with very comfortable beds and loved the pressure in the shower. The location is perfect! It's just a short walk into town. We liked that it was not right in the middle of all the crowds but still waterfront. We enjoyed our walks everyday over the bridge into town. The patio is so relaxing and enjoyable in the evenings. We enjoyed the ambience of the firepits and cocktails. Would recommend this hotel as it is so lovely!

My only complaint is the market closed around noon. Wished it was open into the evening, as it would be nice to grab snacks and drinks without having to go to the restraunt.

The grounds are spectacular. Coffee shop is great. Bartenders are wonderful also, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. The valet and bell hops also very courteous.

The front desk is extremely rude and very demeaning. Would not help in any way at all. I realize the hotel was only open for two days. But our room didn’t have towels, robes, working phone. The vent in the shower made an incredibly loud whistling noise, their solution was to put a piece of paper. The duct was broken and making obscene smells and noises. Even the engineer said that isn’t good, but couldn’t do anything about it. Front desk wouldn’t help with noise complaints. Very rude about it. But the front staff being so incredibly rude is what really hurt the experience, almost could get past the rest of the issues. (The manager or assistant manger reached out once, she was polite)

Property was clean and staff was all very friendly and super helpful! I enjoyed the stay and wish we’d booked another night.

Door to my room (420) did not open easily, to the point I had to have someone come up and try and they were able to get it open - it required a hard push..Had we been spending more time there, I would have asked for different room. We got a great off season rate but I saw the in season rate + resort fee and that would not of been acceptable. And I’m not sure about the WiFi question up above - I didn’t pay for any that but that should be free to guests included in the nightly rate or part of the “resort fee”

The room was nice, clean, well decorated and we had a nice view to the water.

The acoustic of the rooms were very bad. We have a connecting room to ours (being used by different guests) and we could hear absolutely everything that was going on in their room (their conversations spoken in normal tone of voice) so it felt like we had little privacy plus it was hard to sleep in (something expected in vacation) due to the loud noises of the opening and closing doors of other rooms and from the door leading to the outside area (our room was in the ground floor)

The view of the water was beautiful, I recommend a room with a view. The location was easy access, it is considered an island but its drive on drive off. Close to everything Newport. Spacious room, facilities are beautiful, dining options both indoor and outdoor.

Main entrance closed for renovations Fall 2024, long walk to check in this will likely be a non-issue in a few short months. Check light bulbs in rooms to make sure they are working; coffee maker very loud woke everyone up lol

The hotel was almost sold out so I was lucky to get a room. Our room was at the end of the hall near a utility room which was a little noisy. Other than that, the room was wonderful! Beautiful, comfortable, clean, freshly renovated and, most importantly, as depicted online.

We had dinner on the deck on night and the service was terrible. The waitress told us she was also doing room service. Unfortunately, our service suffered as a result. That was our only negative experience. The staff was friendly, helpful and nice.

Overall the resort was very nice and the renovation was a wonderful upgrade. We liked the pool area, had a nice breakfast at the restaurant and enjoyed the location.

The rooms lacked outlets, no full length mirror in room and you could hear through the walls both from our bathroom plumbing and neighbors. The front desk staff help was inconsistent but the manager was lovely and very helpful. View from our room was overlooking the roof and not very attractive.

From arrival to checking out everyone was kind, helpful and seemed to genuinely care about your experience.

150/night for a small dog is EXCESSIVE! We travel everywhere with our dog, who is like our child, this is the ABSOLUTE MOST WE HAVE EVER BEEN CHARGED. I would recommend this be reevaluated.
