This was the first hotel I found on the fly because my booking from earlier in the day at different property came to a disgusting halt due to roaches, a dodgy elevator and a toxic chamber of Clorox. To begin, staff was great and made me and other customers feel at home. Then the ease of checking in was another great factor. The room itself was alright, small bathroom but it’s okay. Didn’t get to use the pool but was nice to have.

I felt like the price for the night to stay there was a bit much for the amount of things it would offer. For that price, I was expecting a breakfast buffet at least. Also, I don’t think I should be making any assumptions but I think there’s a whole family living in one of the rooms at the place by the pool. It was really weird and a little annoying because they weren’t leaving the walkway free.

Front desk attendant didn't speak great English and that's OK but when I asked for reiteration, she got really short and seemingly ill with. Maybe she was having a bad day and that's OK too I suppose. The one thing that bothered me/us the most was no wash cloths in the room, just hand towels and regular towels. Cheap room during a very, very busy beginning of summer so we're happy. You get what you pay for 😆. Honestly we always stay at this red roof and will continue to do so!

Location was great: Walking distance of several restaurants, grocery stores, and the Arthur Ravenel bridge walking path, if you’re up for a longer walk. Short, easy drive to anywhere in downtown Charleston, as well as Isle of Palms or Sullivan’s Island. Room was clean and comfortable: The room was basic, a bed, a chair, a desk, a fridge, and a few tables. Adequate for solo or a couple. Only drawback was the drawers had some spots where the particle board expanded due to the humidity. Was a little off putting, but I just covered it with some trash bags. It was all still clean—the staff does an excellent job of that. One thing of note—the outlets didn’t have USB plugs. You will need outlet adapters to plug in electronics. Everyone was friendly: I didn’t interact with too many people there, but everyone I did was friendly. I would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to stay on a budget.

It exceeded my expectations by far. If you are not seeking luxury and your goal is to stay in a budget-friendly and secure location, I would definitely recommend it. My friend and I, both women, stayed there and did not experience any discomfort. There was parking available, and it was very close to the historic downtown. If you have strict cleanliness standards, I suggest bringing your own pillowcase and overlooking a few stains, but these are not major issues. Also, staff was really helpfull and kind. Overall, we were very satisfied and I would consider staying there again on my next visit.

The room was nice, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was nice and shower was very good water pressure.

The only things I can comment on is the bathtub was not cleaned well and had black hair in it. There was someone's tee shirt and shorts laying behind the door in the bathroom. Friday night, I was awaken to a terrible order in my room. Not sure where it was coming from but it smelled like a backed up sewer! I didn't mention it to the desk clerk due to it was 2:30 am and I know they couldn't do anything about it anyway. Saturday the smell was gone. And when the hotel staff supplied me with new towels Saturday, I wish they would have filled the coffee items as well. I had to go to the front desk and request them.

The 2st room smelled really bad.so Switch to a different room toilet was very low to the floor.That room smelled also but not worse as the 1st one was maybe the rug area need to shampoo.

Near restaurants and attractions. Comfortable beds.

No coffee "water lines not pressurized" even though all the other plumbing worked fine. Parking area dirty. Key didn't work and had to be reconfigured. One ice machine for over 50 rooms. One drink machine with most items sold out.

The staff were friendly when checking in and out. The room we had did not smell and was clean. The location is perfect and not too far from Folly, Isle of Palms, and downtown Charleston. Overall it was a good experience.

Location was great. Not far from beaches, downtown Charleston, points of interest, and shopping. Pool was nice. Comfy bed.

This is not a complaint. They needed to fix the light in the sign. It flickered and was hard to see at night. Also needed to cut back the trees to see the sign. Made it hard to find in the dark.

It was nice and quiet. Nice big room. And the coffee was great.

The pillows could have been fluffier, and that's the only reason for 9/10.
