Best location of any hotel to stay in Charleston. Close enough to all the attractions, but beautifully settled on the Martian Harbor. A little bit of nature, and a little bit of city. I love how they had so many attractions right there from water taxis to kayaking and restaurants and walking distance. The view from the end was beautiful. It had a lovely pool on the deck on the harbor. You really can’t get better than this!

Nothing is ever going to be perfect in any hotel that you stay in. The only complaint I have is late at night. It was hard to sleep because I could hear I guess what was children running through the hotel way past midnight it was really hard to sleep. If you are a light sleeper, please ask for the second level.

Great location, easy parking and nice size room with view of the creek. Marsh room view would include view of parking lot, and shade all day. We enjoyed sunny veranda and view of the pool. Quiet and less busy this time of the year, but music by the pool most of the day/evening. Could walk to restaurants, including The Wreck (featured in Outer banks series). Great walkway by the marsh and creek.

Would like a kettle, but coffee machine was nice. A little noisy outside and in hallway, but not more than should be expected. Very basic breakfast, no fresh foods.

We stayed on the car park side due to maintenance during our visit, which was fine, but we wished we could have stayed on the creek side for a better view. The hotel is situated right on the pier, making it a great location with restaurants and bars all around. If you want to explore elsewhere, you'll need a car. We didn’t have a chance to use the pool, but we wish we had. The hotel room was very comfortable and spacious, with a great balcony, and it had a relaxed, quiet atmosphere.

There was no balcony furniture, it would have been great to sit out to watch the sunset!

My husband and I went to Mt Pleasant for a doctor's appointment the next morning. I asked for a early check in and was told they could not guarantee but would do their best and text me when the room was ready. We got a text stating that our room was ready and we got to check in early! Because of the staff, we got a little extra time sitting on the balcony and enjoying ourselves!! Thank you Shem Creek Inn Staff!!!!

I have been there several times and just love staying here. The location, the atmosphere, the staff has always been very professional

Really nothing. We stayed 4 nights this time and could have used more towels and wasn’t sure what to do with our trash but we asked the person at the front desk and they were very helpful.

Location is exceptionally great! Very friendly and accommodating staff. Beautiful views. Great continental breakfast. Easy parking and easy to get off and on the main road.

There was nothing that I didn’t like. But be aware that there is a lot of activity around the hotel. So if you’re looking for a trip that is full of peace and quiet, you probably won’t get it as easily here. But for me and my wife, we loved it.

Location is fantastic, very lively atmosphere but promptly shuts down every night, no complaints. Pool is wonderfully warm.

AC unit in the room had piping than ran along the wall just behind the headboard, could hear the condensation drip all night long. Wet areas in bathroom and baseboards in the room could use a good cleaning.

The breakfast was only marginally acceptable. That the place that needs the greatest attention. Grab n go is nice if you’re heading out for the day and don’t need much, but if you’re on a more leisurely vacation, it’s nice to have a bit better food on board. We ended up going out every morning.

Laundry facilities would make this Inn more attractive for stays longer than a few days. Already mentioned, breakfast would be nice.

So many things within walking distance, great attractions, great restaurants and good entertainment. The scenery, different type of vessels , and seeing live dolphins and birds.

Would have preferred a hot breakfast. One more lamp in the room

From the time I checked in the lady who checked us in was so nice very friendly, and got a complementary alcohol. ( who does that?!) The room was clean, the view was beautiful. I just wished we got to stay longer. Staff was very nice. I’ll be back for sure!
