It was close enough to everything to walk to ! We didn't have to drive the entire time ! The balcony was a nice touch . And the pool was beautiful, a lot smaller then it looks in the photo but still worth it . They also had 2 outside pools so none was too overcrowded. The rooms were a little outdated furniture wise but still nice enough for us
The only complaint is in the photos of the "creekside balcony" are pointed down so you can't really tell until you get into your room but you are paying an extra $15 -20 for a creek view and by that they mean 2 feet of creek immediately below you . Your view is actually the hotels next door parking lot. And it's very close so you have 100 people looking at you at all times, you can literally talk to them your so close . witch we wanted private creek view so we paid extra for it so that was very disappointing . Maby update the photos and don't call it that because it's just not lol

We loved our creekside room. We left the windows open to hear the water. The staff was very friendly. They didn't do daily housekeeping but offered fresh towels anytime. The pool was really awesome to see in person. The location is fantastic for downtown and really good for Smoky Mountains shenanigans.
There were a lot of bears roaming the area. At first, it was cool to see, but after a few times, it got kinda scary. I saw more bears here than I did camping in the national parks for a week. But honestly, it was a nice stay after camping.

The pool area both inside and outside was great...it was clean and lots of seating. The cafe next to it was also a plus. Loved the balcony overlooking the creek...and of course the best part was watching the bears play in the creek feet from our balcony.
The rooms need a little updating...like new bedspreads and curtains. The carpet needs to be replaced or removed. The whole complex needs just a little sprucing up, needs some refreshing. The rooms were clean but seemed dull and a little sad due to being outdated.

Indoor and heated outdoor pool, wash room with plenty of appliances to use, patio and bbq area, facilities in lobby (microwave, vending machines, coffee station), poolside cafe, stream sitting area, cleanliness of overall facility was great
Parking is tight, noise (poolside) was a bit much at times, early morning working on rooms above me (maintenance) was noisy. A bear got in my car and trashed some stuff, but that could happen at any hotel in Gatlinburg. I didn't know one of my doors doesn't lock.

I enjoyed the amenities, location, convenience of commuting with trolley stop at the hotel, the friendly staff, and the breakfast at the cafe was delicious. For some reason, we always saw bears but they don’t bother anyone. It was amazing to view them walking around the property in the parking lot. They didn’t damage any cars either as long as everyone didn’t leave food in cars.
The rooms were kind of out dated and you can tell the property needed some aesthetic work but having a view right above the creek with a balcony made it worth the sore eye.

Balcony made the stay comforting being able to relax on the porch after a long day of walking the strip
Internet never would connect and had no cell signal in the room so without wifi we were pretty much in the stone age until we left the property and had cell service again down the street

Our stay at Sidney James Mountain Lodge was exceptional. Staff was friendly-housekeeping does not do daily rounds on the rooms for cleaning/tidying up you did have to call for service. That was fine for us as we only needed fresh towels every day. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. No issues with noise from any of the other rooms. The pool was awesome for the kids and kept them busy for hours! The hot tub was great for the adults. The location of the lodge was perfect-within walking distance to downtown Gatlinburg but you could also ride the trolley from any of the posted trolley stops. It's also far away enough that your not right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. We had a little visitor multiple times a day a big black bear 🐻
If I had to make any recommendations or changes it would be to have a microwave in every room versus a communal.

It’s with in reason close walking distance of downtown. It’s on a quiet road/area The pool room & hot tub is really nice along with the cafe. Not a boring looking pool room like most. Haha No big deal. it just makes it feel cozy like a cave. I like the vibes it gives. The staff is friendly & helpful if need be. This was second time staying there.
No microwave in the room. the pool/ hot tub close too early. when your gone all day it would be nice to relax your body at the end of the night.
