It's new, modern, and gym is among the bests I've seen for a hotel (is shared with the residence, but still 1st tier). Staff during the day is super welcoming.

For a 5-start, there's some missing points, for example wifi was unstable at breakfast restaurant, front door there's no one welcoming you (small detail, but again is a 5 star), so super small details, but is clearly the concept of a modern 5, if you like it is super nice, if you like more traditional probably you will miss some details.

The hotel has lovely sitting areas off the lobby. Just gorgeous. The gym had indoor and outdoor space and was impressive for a hotel gym. It also appears that there is a residence associated with the hotel which might explain the higher-end feel. I slept well as the bed was extremely comfortable.

My co-workers had a gift delivered to me at the hotel. Since I left my "do not disturb" sign on throughout my stay, hotel staff did not make contact with me to arrange delivery. Part of the gift was never received. Also, I was placed in an adjoining room, which resulted in the ability to hear most of what my neighbors were saying. I like complete quiet but didn't have this.

I liked the room and the reception level - the art and the interior designs etc. I didn't visit the pool area, but looking down on it from my room it looked very smart.

No coffee machine in the room was an issue.

Breakfast was great. Our server,Carlos, was first rate. Dinner was also excellent.

The local “jack wagons” cranking up the engine noise and exhaust pipes. Glad we were on floor 18. Not enough bother to dissuade us from returning.

Staff were friendly and helpful There was something wrong with the room we were supposed to stay in and they put us in the penthouse suite instead. Huge amount of space. Was a novelty for us having never stayed in a suite like this. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Food was very good and the staff serving us wonderful.

Our stay at the Thompson was so special! We loved how beautiful and well appointed our room was, and each and every staff member went above and beyond to meet our needs. The hotel is beautiful and our dinner and drinks at Catbird and Monarch were amazing!

Our room was located on the corner next to the elevator and the maintenance closet - If I had known that and was willing to move I would have done so as it was quite loud at all times of the night. Next time we will make sure we request a room away from the corner!

Breakfast was in a beautiful setting at Nine at the National. The menu was diverse and table service rather than buffet style. The servers were all very nice. The outdoor pool and gym area are great. We had cocktails in Catbird and dinner in Monarch which had amazing views. The food was delicious however you pay for this experience.
