I stay here whenever I come to Houston. It's a bed and breakfast but modern, not frilly and Victorian/Edwardian, which I like. All the spaces are strikingly well designed and the rooms are very comfortable, and the breakfast options are abundant, healthy and fresh. It's in the Montrose near the Ménil, MFAH, and other institutions, and if you're a good walker you can walk a lot of places including the River Oaks Theatre; I've walked to Midtown from here when the weather was good. Some cafés on nearby Westheimer I'd recommend are Brasil and the Agora; Cielito on Dunlavy is divine and there are many other restaurants and businesses nearby although the neighborhood is residential and quiet. Many guests here are international artists and intellectuals, and everyone is someone you'll be glad to meet. The owners live onsite and are very interesting people and knowledgeable about Houston, which is another plus.

I really don't see a downside. It's perhaps not the very best for people with disabilities since there are stairs here and there, both inside and out, so there are parts of the property you can't easily get to if you cannot navigate stairs.

I stayed at downtown hotels in the past. The traffic, from Toyota center, Astros, Rockets. would make getting in and out of downtown very time consuming, this is an excellent location for anyone like myself who is visiting in the museum district and west Houston, also very convieniet kitchen facilities and VERY quiet and peaceful, downtown hotels can be loud woth party people.

I really have no complaint, the hurricane blew down a bunch of trees so the downed branches on the sidewalk understandable. Parking is limited, you could maybe charge extra to reserve a parking space in the driveways

The breakfasts were very nice and good food was enhanced by all the guests sitting together at a big table, with the hosts joining us at times, talking about what we were doing in Houston and getting to know each other as fellow travellers. We also really appreciated that there is an additional kitchen in the house where guests can keep food and drink and cook or heat up food. It feels more like staying in someone's home than in a guest house and our hosts did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. Fantastic location also - near the Menil Collection and Rice Village. Will definitely go back!

Nothing

It was very clean and quiet. The area was very posh and had very inconvenience we needed just in case we had to go to the store for anything. HEB Is literally around the corner. Our room was very clean and comfortable , with a nice bathroom. In the morning, we had a wonderful breakfast with the hosts and she was so delightful and sweet. Great conversationist and very friendly. We will definitely be coming back soon.

No window privacy in the shower

Great location and host, clean, comfortable accommdations. Breakfast was lovely, I had hot scrambled eggs made for me and finished off with a just-baked chocolate chip cookie. Convenient to attend alumni events at Rice University and visit the Menil Collection art museum.

I should have brought my own shampoo and conditioner. Upgrading the bathroom toiletries would be a very nice touch. But, this is a minor complaint and one I probably should have anticipated and solved on my own.

Lisa Thompson and Avidan Moss very friendly, professional, and always goes above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. When my sister and I arrived we were so exhausted from not having electricity for a couple of days that Lisa and Avidan took all out belongs and 3 cats up 3 floor. We enjoyed the two separate rooms with the bathroom in the middle of both rooms. If you need a B&B for any reason this is the place to come. Thank you so much for all help.

No elevator going straight to the first floor

Awesome breakfast, great staff, full size kitchen just for the guests, private entrance, fresh linens, very comfy bed, great shower space, spacious living area, good wifi, additional toilets if needed in the living space, microwave-fridge was adequate. Filtered water was also available to refill. Parking was great and in a shaded area. Neighbourhood was upscale, good with trees and felt secure. Very near to downtown and many attractions.

TV remote was missing but was given the alternate room one to use, as it was unoccupied - but didn't have the urge to .

The great thing about this property is its location. It's perfect for those who enjoy visiting museums, and with several supermarkets nearby, you can cook to your heart's content. Since no one else used the kitchen besides me, I was able to cook a lot.

Considering the low price, I have no complaints, but compared to other B&Bs I've stayed at, the quality is lower. Nearby Airbnbs offer higher standards, so I'd like to see a difference made with breakfast.

This is a gem of a place to stay, so pleased we chose it. Our room was great and we were lucky to have a communal space to ourselves. Breakfast each morning was lovely and great conversation. Friendly and caring hosts. Easy walk to supermarkets and restaurants. In a suburban area that was quiet. A great place to be stuck on snow day.

I had to leave before breakfast due to a medical appointment. However the freshly brewed coffee was ready and I enjoyed a cup before I left. There were ready made to go food if you needed a bite before going. The dining area was clean and friendly.

No fault of the host but I would have liked to have stayed for the breakfast. I enjoyed everything else.
