Location is amazing…

I recently stayed at the Royal Sonesta in Houston and while the service was wonderful and the surroundings were beautiful, I am extremely frustrated with their handling of my deposit for incidentals. It has been over two weeks and I still haven't received my refund. Despite numerous attempts, I can't get a hold of anyone to resolve this issue. This has been a very disappointing experience and has overshadowed my otherwise pleasant stay.

It was a nice property very near to Highland Village which is great for shopping and food.

The parking fee was $40 (valet) and $30 (self park) and my room faced the highway which was SO noisy with all the traffic and cars that just wanted to be loud later into the night. New windows and at least a sound machine would help this a lot. Also, the paint job on the ceiling/trim in my room was never finished out properly and was super noticeable in the morning. There was also nothing but a bare boxspring on the bed which seemed not like a four or five start hotel. Bed and pillow were clean and comfy, but having it finished makes all the difference.

We stay each year for rhe last few days of Houston Rodeo and we enjoy sitting in the evenings playing dominos in the bar area. It's always an enjoyable stay.

I asked on my way out what I needed to do for check out... I was told just drop the keys in the check-out key box. I get my car and find that I need a room key to exit the property. I call from my car and was told I was supposed to keep one key for exit. Why couldn't I been told this when I asked??

The location was excellent because it is walking distance to Galleria stores and restaurants. Ambiance in hotel was nice as well as the staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Toilet paper holder in room kept coming off. Would like more options for people like myself that do not eat any meats.

It was easy to get to room wise and the layout was nice. I liked the beds and the view. The front desk people were very courteous and helpful.

There was no microwave in the room, the charge for parking was a bit astronomical, and the water pressure in shower was not great. The hotel was very nice just wish that there was some conveniences like parking and microwaves.

The location was good. It was a nice place to spend our wedding night.

Everyone was so nice and helpful. The pool and hot tub were awesome! The gym was great. Our room was clean and spacious and we had an excellent view over Downtown Houston. We loved it, we thought the water bowl and treats for the dogs at the entrance was a fabulous touch!

The shower was a bit small, I was expecting something bigger I suppose. But that doesn't take away from how amazing our stay was.

Location was great. The staff were superb. The good was delicious.

The price of food was exceptionally high. Even though I was in a handicapped accessible room, I could barely maneuver my wheelchair in room. And the bathroom wheelchair barely fit at all. The sliding door to bathroom took 2 people to close

Breakfast was good, took a little long to get to our tables, but it was OK.

The reason I selected Royal Sonesta was because we were getting a better deal through booking.com, however; with all the added fees, such as “destination, tax” which I think is ridiculous, it really wasn’t a bargain at all!

Staff was great! We loved the people doing our breakfast especially Maria's pancakes! Receptionist were helpful and nice as well in helping us to enjoy our stay
