The room was very comfortable and the ambiance in the lobby is lovely. Any staff we met up with were very friendly. We liked the complimentary green apples on the accommodation floor.

We arrived after a long flight hoping to have a swim but there was a pool party going on with what seemed like 50 young people with cocktails and a band so pool time was off the agenda. The restaurant disappointed us - for breakfast my poached eggs were totally overcooked served along side cold toast (not just cooled down but stone cold as in perhaps it had been cooked a few hours ago). Given the vibe of the hotel I was surprised not to see any free range, organic, grass fed.... The dinner menu is somewhat limited in range. I had a fillet steak which was tasty but super expensive given it was not grass fed. Expensive pricing without the follow through.

I was extremely impressed with the front desk staff, I spoke to Shay who was the night time receptionist and she was very generous, polite and understanding to all my needs and requests. the hotel staff accommodated my special request for my partner superbly and surprised even myself. The suite was excellent and everything was so neat and tidy, my partner's reaction to the suite made everything worth it.

I thought the location could be better. The hotel is positioned just on the outskirts of central down town but you wouldn't know that in advance. I also think the facilities such as the bar and restaurant had inconsistent opening and closing times or perhaps it felt they closed too early.

I loved that my now wife and I were treated with such love and respect from everyone around us at the hotel. We are a same sex couple, and we were having our wedding at the hotel. All of our wants and needs were met and exceeded. From our check in with April, our event planning with Jennifer H, and even to the head of janitorial staff made sure what we needed was taken care of. Would definitely host another event there

The only drawback was that our guests that we scheduled to have a double room for a single king room, and I wasn’t made aware of it till we were leaving.

Everything was clean and updated. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Armando was exceptionally helpful and friendly when we were packing up to leave.

There's a lot of construction going on right there, so it wasn't easy getting to the hotel or parking unless you use a valet. There's no shuttle available for nearby activities and shopping so we walked in the hot, rainy weather a lot to avoid the parking/construction issues. Not a reason to not stay here, just unfortunate.

We chose the Thompson as it was the only 5 Star Hotel in central San Antonio and was competitive in price against the 4 Star Hotels. Whilst checking in we were given water, which came in handy refillable bottles.. There were water refill stations on every floor, which I thought was a nice touch. We had a king room with city view. The room was very nice - dark hues with a teal emulsion. The theme was mid century modern verging on industrial. With a retro radio thrown in for good measure! Most importantly, we had a lovely king bed with crisp white sheets and that is really all we needed. The view of the city didn't disappoint. The mini bar was well stocked. The en-suite shower room had luxurious white marbled tiles. There was a large double shower and oversized vanity unit. The bathroom was equipped with a funky grey dressing gown.

We found the reception staff a little frosty.

Me and my Husband Loved everything. It was a very nice atmosphere the hotel itself is amazing. We plan on coming again and would recommend the Thompson to our family and friends. The food was Exceptional at the Moons Daughter's on the 20th floor. Valet Staff was on point. We had a Great Time!!!!

Impeccably clean, beautiful art, helpful and friendly staff, comfortable rooms and restaurants. The spa/pool pass was a great experience.

Great Hotel , What made is special was the staff !! Big thank you to Dominic (Great Guy !! ) in maintenance who took care of a problem with AirCon and arranged an upgrade .

Very clean, great amenities in walking distance to a lot of things, they also offer shuttle services the city also has motorized scooters.

Really not on the fun side of the river walk

This property was five star and top-notch. The staff was so kind and accommodating. The facilities were beautiful and even included an art museum on property.
