We stayed in Ami Old Quarter for one night while passing through Hanoi. We checked in quite late after a slight delay, but the receptionist, Son, kept in touch with us over WhatsApp the whole time and was ready waiting to check us in when we arrived. The reception was under renovation so Son guided us the whole way to the room and checked us in there, all the while apologising. Son was very helpful, kind, and cordial, and just greeting we needed after a long journey. The room was exceptional for the price, and the location is very central.

Highly, highly recommend AMI! The location is amazing, I am a photographer and being so close to the old quarter was a dream. When I arrived I left my phone in the taxi, I was panicking a lot as a solo traveller and Hieu at the reception helped me to ring the Grab driver and he brought it back to me. I was so grateful and this gave me a great impression of the Vietnamese people on my first night! I was also running late to check out and Hieu let me check out late and also let me wait in my previous room while the new room was ready. I had to stay again I liked it here so much! The balcony room was great, very clean and everything you need. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Hanoi :)

Some coffee or tea in the room would be a good addition

The hotel is in a perfect location, right in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter - ideal for exploring the city. The rooms are simple but have everything you need for a comfortable stay. What truly made our experience exceptional was the amazing receptionist, Hieu. He was always there to help with anything, incredibly friendly and very supportive. His excellent service made our stay even better. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a city view room with a nice view of one of the bustling streets in the Old Quarter. However, the door didn’t close properly, so we could still hear a lot of the street noise. It wasn’t a major issue for us, but light sleepers might want to keep that in mind.

Location , but most of all the Staff, I had the pleasure of meeting Son upon arrival. Son was very polite ,warm and welcoming , he was very helpful kind and friendly and I instantly felt comfortable right away. He is definitely an asset to this hotel , I’ve stayed at a few different hotels since arriving in Vietnam/ Hanoi & I highly recommend staying here. Come stay & say Hi to Son his an absolute pleasure to deal with & you will not regret. Solo female travellers this place & staff will not disappoint.

Nothing loved every bit of staying here.

We were warmly welcomed as soon as we arrived. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always available to help. We immediately felt at home, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality — we’ll definitely come back! A big thank you to Son, who, despite his difficulties with English, made real efforts to understand us. His kindness and willingness to help truly made a difference. We really appreciated the warm welcome and hospitality — it made our stay even more special!

The best part I liked was it was clean and good location. The staff was friendly and helpful, specially Hung helped us checkin and book day tours which was hassle free and quick and helped us with our requirements instantly.

We booked for 1 day and keep extending our stay which led to 3 day at this property and wanted to extend one more day but the price for all three days were different as they keep increasing the price each day for the same room. Day 1 when we booked was aprx $22 increased to aprx $24/25 for day 2 and 3 by the time we reached day 4 the same room was costing aprx $37 was the only part we didn’t like and forced us to change our stay.

-Best thing about this room is the value for money! Affordable and very spacious! -We loved the big big windows, that are actually sliding doors. It's like your whole room is a balcony. -Also location is very very good. Right at the heart of the city. A lot of great eats and tourist spots(like Hoan Kiem Lake) was walking distance. -Also great that the building has a lift! Most of other hotels in this price range didn't have elevator. So a lift is definitely a plus! Especially for seniors. -We also loved that the water pressure in the bathroom was really good. Hot water also functioning well. And the toilet is very very clean. -Staff was also very patient in answering our inquiries prior to our trip.

-Not much, just that the room slippers aren't that clean. But it's okay..we didn't need it anyway. -It could've also been better if there was a dining table, instead of the armchair. Just a suggestion. -There was also this small incident before we left that, there was a misunderstanding with the charges to our room, but thanks to Doan, it was all sorted out!

The room was very comfortable, with small balcony facing to the street and neighbourhood of Hanoi old quarter. The hotel is small, but has everything you need. Plus the super strategic location! It's located in a relatively quite street, with several temples around so it's not noisy nor crowded. But just few hundred meters walk and you will find the bustling street fulll with foods, snacks, nimimart, coffee shops. Just sipping coffee and enjoying snack at the balcony while looking at the busy street below was our favorite experience. Lam, the staff, also helped me arrange a transport to the airport early in the morning with very reasonable price.

Great hotel which is close by to many place that’s walking distance! The receptionists are very helpful especially Hieu who was able to help with my tour booking questions and took care of all my requests like new towels and room cleaning. Thank you Hieu for all the help during this stay and will stay if I am in Hanoi again. Definitely worth the value for its cost!

We booked this hotel last minute and wish we had booked more than 1 night as it was our favourite in Hanoi, however it was sold out for the rest of our trip - we understand why as it was so clean & comfortable! Room is really spacious and we had a window view of the Main Street which was great to have a bit of day light as it seems to be common in Vietnam to have rooms with no windows. Great area, walking distance to main streets but still quiet at night time to get a good sleep. Would definitely recommend!
