This boutique hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi is beautifully appointed in old world glamour with modern convenience. Perfectly located on Hang Gai Street, all the action is at your doorstep. The service was exceptional with attention to detail especially evident. The staff made us feel very special and was always there to help. The buffet breakfast is top notch. Also they have a huge beautiful Christmas tree outside. We really enjoyed our stay here!

As the buildings in the old quarter are small, the rooms and bathroom is on the compact side, however have been designed to make most of the space and still made comfortable. There was no view from our windows on the 3rd floor.

Good location, great staff. Good sized room with a great bathroom. I noted in my booking that we are celebrating our wedding anniversary and they gave us a little strawberry cake 😍 We booked massages in the hotel spa and the service was great. Lastly, we had an early flight on our last day and the reception informed us they can prepare a breakfast box for us.

We used the teaspoon in the room to ate the lovely free cake the hotel gave us. The next day after cleaning - everything looked ok (the bed was made, the cups which we used for tea looked cleaned, towels replaced, new water bottles etc) EXCEPT the dirty spoon was still there, along with the clean cups. Hopefully it was just an oversight but somehow made me doubt how much cleaning was actually being done (not just tidying up). Still had a wonderful stay. Just doing my part in washing the cups and teaspoons (again) prior to using them.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the service was outstanding. Every single member of the staff was incredibly kind and helpful – from the reception team to the porters, the spa staff, and the restaurant team – everyone went above and beyond to make my stay perfect. The room was spotless, beautifully arranged, and very comfortable. The bed was super cozy, the bathroom was perfectly clean and well-equipped, and everything was kept in perfect order throughout my stay. I truly felt very well taken care of here, and I’m very grateful for the warm hospitality. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi – it was simply excellent in every way.

I really can't compliment the staff enough of Le Chanvre - nothing was too much, and they were always sweet and courteous no matter what!! The location is PERFECT, the hotel acting as a little island of tranquility in amongst the hub bub ^^

Very minor concerns but the pool is quite small, so bear that in mind ^^ (lovely as it was!) Similarly, rooms at the front of the hotel can sometimes end up a bit noisy as it's such a bustling part of town, so if you're bothered by city noises try to request a room at the back! (My mom found it too much and the staff swiftly moved us with no worries ^^ wonderful people!)

Customer service is definitely one of the best hotels I’ve stayed. Special thanks to Mia and Helena, Mia helped me to get a fun cooking class booked, recommended lots of places to visit, also helped me on booking my Vexere bus; and Helena helped on passing me bandage while my new shoes are scratching me. The breakfast is so great that I wake up every day early to try the well cooked omelette. Each day the chef brings new kind of traditional Vietnamese food on the counter for choose! The location is so great that everything is very close.

I wish if the room can have more lights would be great.

Loved this hotel! The location was excellent, the boutique design charming, the rooftop pool a stunner and the beds super-comfortable. But the two standouts were the breakfast and the staff. We'll miss them both! Mia and her team went out of their way to make us feel at home and looked after. By the time we left, we felt among friends thanks to their genuine warmth, interest and care. If I was a hotel manager I'd pay Mia top dollar - anything to keep her, she's a gem.

One of our rooms was a little on the small side with a not-great view, but hey, it's the old town, you can't change the geography - and it wasn't a big deal as we were out most of the time. My sister's room was bigger with better views, so there are options - maybe ask when you book if size / views are important to you.

The Staff were amazing, they really made the experience special, coming up and speaking to us at reception and also in the restaurant in the morning. Helping with advice for things to do and asking about our day when we returned and remembering what we had spoken about earlier. Definitely made it feel like a boutique hotel and not a faceless large hotel. Room was great, clean, comfy bed, good shower with great pressure and nice overall facilities. Also it was quiet given that you are in the old town and as soon as you step outside you are in the middle of Hanoi and noise that brings with it. The breakfast was very good, especially the coffee which we found to be disappointing in other Hotel breakfast options. Loved the cappuccino and iced Vietnamese coffee. The food offering was also of a good standard, varied and tasty. No al a carte option other than the egg station, but everything was super fresh, replenished and tasty. Particularly liked the sushi, dumplings on offer.

We stayed in a room with a terrace. Very spacious room, clean and very comfortable. The shower, bathtub, bath amenities, everything was well provided. The flowers in the room, fruit and wine service was delightful. The sauna, spa, and pool were always open and very refreshing after a long, sweaty walk through the old town. I wanted to shop daily in the old town, so the location here was perfect. Everything is within walking distance. Breakfast was also a pleasure, and I enjoyed it every day. I would like to mention that the service staff here was excellent. They are always warm and courteous in their welcome and respond instantly to requests. The room cleaning staff did a wonderful job as well. Especially Mia, your hospitality was better than any 5 star hotel. She was very helpful in communicating with us via email after booking, calling us at the airport, and smoothly resolving any issues throughout our stay. Mia made our stay zero stress and we were very impressed! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all your staff. Next time I visit Hanoi, I will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is beautiful, but what is more beautiful is Mia, the service worker and receptionist. She is just a joy to speak with and will help with anything needed in the hotel. I wasn't feeling my best unfortunately when I arrived at the hotel and she really cared for me and made sure I had what I needed to rest and recuperate. The facilities are great and the location is very good. Carter was also a very friendly guy on reception and his attention to customer service is perfect. Not invasive like in some high-end hotels, just genuinely interested in your wellbeing and happiness. Oh also! The beds are sooooo comfortable, I wish could have taken some of those pillows with me / they are next level :D goodbye Le Chanvre!

The gym is very small and the massage prices are quite high, considering the prices outside of the hotel are much much cheaper.

From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly, generous and professional. At check in we were warmly welcomed with delicious tea in a cool and beautiful lobby. The room was interestingly designed with modern facilities, comfortable bed and relaxing bathroom with bathtub. Breakfast offered a wide selection of tasty western and local dishes. We enjoyed drinks at the rooftop bar where we had a panoramic view of the city. The location in the old town is close to shops, restaurants spas and so on. A room higher up and at the back of the hotel will be quietest and offer the best views.
