This is a classic French style property. Choose your room carefully. The deluxe rooms have a ‘window’ that overlooks the staircas, so there is no natural light. If you want the best quiet night sleep this IS a great room. We found it a bit dark with no natural light. The room could use a lighting upgrade which would make it a perfect room. If you want natural light select a room with a balcony. Warning,this will come with all the Old Quarter traffic noise. The hotel staff was incredible and the bar staff took great care of us during our stay. The bed was extremely comfortable! It is easy to walk throughout the Old Quarter. Everything is accessible from the property.

The shower is a bit quirky and could use a bit of an adjustment. The breakfast buffet was exactly the same all three mornings. Could us a bit of variety!

Great location on the east side of the Old Quarter, a few blocks from the main market area. Excellent breakfast, very helpful staff. Hotel will exchange currency at the front desk for no fee. Overall very good value .

We had 2 stays, two different rooms, both clean but a little tired and small. The 'premium' room faced the street and had a cute little balcony (with a dangerously low railing) and a walk-in shower. Ask for this type of room if you have mobility issues. The standard room had a ridiculous tub shower setup that is really awkward to get in and out of.

The breakfast was very good-better than expected. The hotel staff were excellent: very kind and efficient and helped us book the local transportation through Grab and Be. The location was perfect! The hotel was within walking distance to many of the must see sites in the Old Quarter. Our room had a spacious bathroom, safe, hot water available, fridge, hair dryer, desk , TV and sitting area.

A few of the tiles in the bathroom were cracked and the stoppers in the double sinks were hard to use.

This is a great hotel in the middle of the Old Quarter. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We loved our barman! This is our 2nd stay here and is great value for money and it is good to stay in a smaller hotel.

The restaurant is not open for dinner but there are lots of options nearby.

I already live in Hanoi, but I needed a staycation to clear my mind. I took 2 weeks and stayed at 4 different places. I wish I had spent the entire two weeks at Golden Silk Boutique Hotel. It's easy to find. Great location near Hoan Kiem Lake. That means there are plenty of food options available as well as scenic walks, art galleries, and plenty of space to move around. I took a walk around the lake every day. Let me just say I am extraordinarily appreciative of Emily and her staff for the hospitality they showed me, from the moment I checked in until I left, (after extending my original booking). They helped me find exactly what I needed. I needed a quiet, spacious, and inspiring place to write and that is exactly what I was offered. The hotel is gorgeous. My room was gorgeous. The included breakfast was fabulous. My large balcony view made all the difference when I needed a change of perspective from my comfortable desk space. The large king bed was comfortable and the pillows were just right. But all that is the easy part. It's not hard to spend the dollars to outfit a room. The Staff was probably the best part of my stay. The room was absolutely perfect, but the staff was the best complement to it. Even if the room was just average (again, it was perfect, btw), the staff would have made it more than worth the stay. I'm currently backpacking around the world. I've been in Vietnam since Covid. Of all the places I've booked. This is now in my top 3. I will for sure return for another staycation and I think you'd do yourself well to think about the same sort of getaway. You know you need it.

Honestly can't think of a damn thing. I even extended an extra day just because the place was so perfectly suited for exactly what I needed.

The bathroom had a bathtube. When I would shower I had to stay in the bathtube. As an old man with painfuul knees I was afraid of entering the bath tube. So I did not shower every day.

Room was super since we got an upgrade to the presidential suite. Location was as expected.

Breakfast was on the low rate, the neighborhood was very noisy and crowded although you couldn't find food after 10pm

we had standard rooms to begin with and they were a little shabbier than the last two pre pandemic times I stayed at the Golden Silk. We upgraded for our last night and loved that room.

Good location to access. The room is clean and enough space to stay. Friendly staffs. Delicious breakfast I can choose Vietnamese cuisine or something.

Bathroom smells a little, but I can close the door.
