Hanoi View Legend has a great location for those who want to stay in the center of the Old Quarter and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

I stayed in a room on the 1st floor that was right next to the stairs with a very thin wall. I woke up every night to people coming up the stairs and talking loudly. Also on the same floor is luggage storage, so there was some noise, sometimes even very early like 5 or 6 in the morning. The bedroom door has a translucent part, which makes the room light up when someone turns on the hallway light.

excellent location, in alleyway off beer street, markets, bus station (15K dong bus to airport) quiet. great breakfast options rooms 201,301,401 have small balcony, good for drying clothes. helpful staff. ask about the 'cambodian barbique' place, just past the martkets for the best meat sticks in town!

some beds are 'firm', such as 201, but 401 was perfect.

The hosts Santana & Lu are amazing and did everything possible to make my stay comfortable. They brought me extra blankets when it was cold, & fresh fruit & water daily. The shower is great (and hot) and wifi works consistently. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and the location was perfect. 5min easy walk to the Old Town, but away from the hustle & bustle. There are ATMs, mini marts, spa’s, a laundry & restaurants on the same street, so everything is close by. The owner Santana can help you book trips or airport taxis, please note you need to pay cash, as they are unable to accept card payments at this hotel. There is an ATM 2 minutes away, so not an issue. I had a 5 night stay as a solo female traveller in December, and would absolutely stay again if I am ever back in Hoi An.

There were no downsides, everything was great

Absolutely great location, so many things nearby. The staff is very helpful. The young lady's smile in the morning, and the inviting welcome from the yoyng man in the evening works wonders! They are hard workers and although there doesn't seem to be that much staff they are still available 24/7 (even during Lunar new years) which is great. They also helped me with finding a nice tour to ha long bay. This may not be a 5-star hotel, but the price-to-quality ratio is great. Originally booked for 1 night to try it out, but I stayed for 6. Also got bumped for 1 night to a big room with a spacious balcony.

The rooms weren't dirty, but they felt a bit lived in and could use some extra care. However, this isn't a 5-star hotel, if you expect perfection you can better pay 10x more per night at a 4/5star hotel. For the price this hotel punches above it's weight class.

I arrived at the hotel at around 10 p.m. and unfortunately, strangely enough, my room was not available. I got a triple room. But the next day I was able to change my room. If you look through the reviews, this seems to happen quite often. There is no real 24-hour reception. It is more likely that people spend the night at reception and have to wake someone up. But that is normal. The location of the hotel is great. There is everything you need nearby and you can walk to some of the sights. Tours are also offered but I didn't take them. So I can't say anything about that. WiFi was stable and fast, so you could also work. As in many Asian countries, it is a bath-shower combination. That means you also put the toilet under water. But it is warm, so it dries quickly.

people were always nice and helpful , the hotel is well located , close by everything . the room was clean and enough for what I needed with my own toilet . it is worth . I would recommend it .

they could speak better English for better communication although communication was ok

I had a great time in Hanoi and View Legend Hotel, which is located right in the old town near many shops, the night market and the lake. Of course this is not the Hilton Hotel, but the rooms are big and clean. The staff is really nice and speaks very good English. Mr Peter, the hotel owner, booked several tours for me: 3D2N Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba island, day tour to Ninh Binh and Haoi city tour. The tours were excellent and the price was much cheaper than elsewhere. You can ask for an offer and compare the prices with other Travel agencies, you will be surprised! Thank you for the nice stay and I hope to be able to come back soon, next time in Summer when it is warm and sunny and not cold and rainy.

No breakfast buffet after Covid, only coffee/tea and fried rice/noodles.

The location really good, at Old Quarter and not far from lake and famous restaurants. Staffs very nice and helpful. I stayed at this hotel 4 nights. I was early check in after back from Sapa by sleep train. For early check in to Family room the hotel charge about 250K vnd anyway i m ok fir this rate coz i can rest but i think other hotel will free of change if room free. I bought 1 day trip to Tam Coc and taxi to airport too. All reasonable price. The king room was good but not provide drinking water, have to pay at reservation by cheaper than outside store. Coffee (paid) was good too. In room was old decor and not too much things just bed and bit some damaged. It you prefer close and excellent area you can choose there. It s very good price but pls not demanding. Ohh aircon in my room had problem few times too but fast solved when ask for reservation.

Bit old room and not provide free drinking water

The beds were comfortable and the rooms relatively spacious. The wifi was good and the hotel was in a good location with cafes/food all around and souvenir shops also on the same road. The park and lake are about 7 mins walk away, where you can find Note Cafe. Value for money was good and you can book airport transfer and day trips from the hotel reception.

The bathroom was quite outdated and although the hot water worked well and it was stocked with soap/shampoo, the wet room style made it get messy quite quickly when using the toilet after a shower.

Peter and Mary are absolutely spectacular hosts. Not only did they assist me with booking busses, tours, and my next destination, but they were warm and welcoming. I could not recommend this place more. They have all of the facilities you could possibly need and a friendly face to help you if you need assistance. They are in a perfect location, walking distance from anything fun or worth seeing in Hanoi, and anything that requires driving they can help you sort it out if needed. Also Hanoi can be pretty loud, but this place is remarkably quiet for its location.
