The hotel was really clean and tidy. Right in the center of the Old Quarter, which is the more touristy area. The staff is amazing as well. I checked in at around midnight and the overnight receptionist (Minh) was extremely helpful. He recommended me all of the local, non touristy stuff to try and even took me out for lunch the day after! I’ve never had staff this friendly before, anywhere!

My only gripe is that you only get one key card which you need for electricity in the room. Because of this, when you leave, the AC turns off and all of your devices will stop charging. I didn’t ask for a second card, but I am sure they would have given me one if I needed it. So not a big issue.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and super helpful. We arrived a lot earlier than the check-in time, and they quickly arranged our room for us. The room was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed, and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was good, there was lots of choice, and the roof bar had great views of Hanoi. The location of the hotel was ideal for exploring the old quarter, and we loved sitting outside watching the world pass by. We needed to stay an extra night, which they quickly arranged for us, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We absolutely loved our stay here and would highly recommend it as a base in Hanoi.

Truly a fantastic stay at Amira , the hotel is super clean , location is absolutely perfect east to walk around everywhere it’s also surprisingly quiet at night even in the weekend which is not easy in the busy old quarter. What made our stay fantastic it was the lovely staffs especially Lilly , she was amazing, super attentive and precise. I wish I had staff like this in my business!! Lilly helped us in advance to book taxis , excursions/activities all which were reasonably priced and a much better quality compared to what’s around. Amira hotel is the place to stay, don’t look for anything else! Well done everyone for running such a great hotel !!

We had a great stay at the Amira Hotel in Hanoi. The location is perfect — right in the heart of the Old Quarter, making it easy to explore the city on foot. From the beginning, communication was excellent. Lily, who handled our booking, was incredibly helpful and kind. She went above and beyond by giving us great local food recommendations, printing our boarding passes, organizing airport transfers, and more. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. All in all, a lovely experience. I’d definitely stay here again!

One thing to note: due to the structure of the building, some rooms don’t have windows. I was initially concerned about this because of my claustrophobia, but although the hotel was fully booked, Lily and the team found us a larger room to make sure I was comfortable — and it made a big difference.

Breakfast was excellent, with chicken pho every morning before we left the hotel. While the other food options were fairly basic, it was clear they made an effort to keep things interesting. Our room wasn’t overly large, but it felt cosy and welcoming, with warm yellow lighting and tasteful décor despite the limited space. It was cleaned and replenished daily, with no need for us to ask. The sky bar was a great spot, though unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate due to a storm that lasted for a few days. That said, the drinks were fantastic, we had Summertime and Bong. Bartender was friendly and welcoming, making it a pleasant experience despite the rain.

We were lucky to visit in late August, during a national event that we were told only happens once every 40 years. The entire street was beautifully decorated with rows of flags, and the hotel staff were dressed in red outfits with yellow stars, which made the atmosphere even more festive. The room itself was nicely decorated. The facilities were quite basic, but everything we needed was provided. What really made our stay special was the staff. The receptionist and the travel desk team were the highlight of our trip. They helped us organize tours to Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh, and the service they provided was excellent, especially considering the price.

Our first day in Vietnam was marked by heavy rain, and the street was blocked due to the weekend night market. The driver contacted the hotel a few minutes before our arrival, and shortly after, a hotel staff member came out to meet us. They brought us two raincoats, an umbrella, and even carried two of our big bags for about 200 meters. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with warm towels and tea. It was quite late at night, but the staff truly went above and beyond to help us, making us feel like we were staying in a 5-star hotel. The room wasn't very spacious, but it was clean, warm, and comfortable, extra points for the soft bed! The hotel is located close to all the main attractions. The area is lively throughout the day but still quiet at night. There was plenty of good food nearby, including Bun Cha, Pho On Vui, Banh mi 25, and the most interesting one — Bun dau man tom. We also booked a day trip to Ha Long Bay through the hotel, which was excellent. The cruise was new and luxurious. It could have been even better with a bit more sunshine, but honestly, there was nothing to complain about. Overall, this was a wonderful beginning to our trip in Vietnam, and we would definitely come back to Amira on our next visit.

Just spent a couple of nights at this spot in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and it was a really solid choice! The hotel’s in a great location, right in the heart of the Old Quarter. It’s super easy to walk to famous spots like Hoan Kiem Lake and all the cool little street food stalls and markets around the area. The room was cozy and had everything I needed. It was clean and comfortable, and the bed was super soft, which made for some solid sleep after long days of exploring. The bathroom was nice too — decent shower pressure and clean towels, so no complaints there. The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready with recommendations for local spots to check out. All in all, if you’re looking for a well-located, affordable place in the Old Quarter, this hotel does the job!

The only downside was that the hotel’s street can get a bit noisy at night, but that’s kind of part of the charm of being right in the heart of the action in Hanoi.

Great Hotel in Great Location On arrival we were issued with rooms with no windows, which as a group thought we may struggle with. But in truth it was a blessing has the rooms were clean, decorated well with comfortable beds ok a little on the small side but absolutely an oasis from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi in which to sleep. All the staff we came across were polite, friendly and courteous. But has a group we’d like to give special praise to the doormen and the two reception staff Tracy and Lily. The two young ladies were exceptional from start to finish absolute superstars. Two of the nicest people I’ve come across in a very long time. Lily was arranging trips for the group 6 months in advance of our arrival. Always available to chat answer questions politely and quickly.

Nothing negative to report

The staff were the best aspect of this hotel. If you are happy to use the hotel as a base only, the location is great. The staff were so helpful (Typhoon Wipha was happening during our stay), they took initiative, gave great recommendations and helped us book onward travel and even booked taxis for us as we didn’t have the app on our phones. They made it a really great experience. The hotel itself is nice enough - the lobby area probably the nicest area and a relaxing place to sit and prepare for the day ahead. The breakfast (continental style, self-serve) was good enough and considering the price of the stay, it was reasonable - the omelettes were very nice! Our room was clean (and the cleaners were lovely and attentive) and it was fine for a 2 night stay. As a base in Hanoi, a great spot. Lots of great eateries, bars, stalls on the streets in every direction around the hotel - including very good Banh Mi (25)!

I found out just from some of the reviews that we may not have a window - I think this might be quite common in that part of Hanoi where they have reused old buildings - we didn’t have any natural light in our room - but then again we were content to “get up and go” so it wasn’t a big problem - but it’s worth being specific with the request at the time of booking if they have availability.
