The location was so peaceful. We especially appreciated this after driving through busy Tam Coc. We really enjoyed having the use of the bikes to get around. It is close enough to bike to the Trang An boat trip( thoroughly recommended doing this) and Mua Cave but you really need a driver to get to the other sights. I enjoyed just biking around the local area, watching the ducks in the flooded rice fields and the people harvesting lotus leaves and taking in the majestic scenery. The accommodation places are all practically next door to each other and we ate at the For You restaurant by the river and under the lanterns. Four of us shared a family room with two large beds which was very comfortable. We loved the lanterns outside our room.

There was quite a big difference between the advertising photos and reality. The bamboo structures on the riverside were unstable and old and the seating area was worn out and scruffy. They definitely need some maintenance. The teenagers were looking forward to doing some paddleboarding but the paddleboards looked pretty worn out and the water did not look clean at all, not swimming water! They swam in the pool instead. The restaurant was convenient but a bit disappointing after many other restaurants we have tried.

“On the last day, we asked one of the staff members to book a bus from the city to Da Nang. That person spoke with someone from a travel agency, who said that they would only book the bus if we paid an extra 200k dong because there was a double seat for me and my wife. When we got on the bus, none of that happened. The seats were normal and separate. We were left wondering if there was ill intent from just the agency or if there was a scheme in place where both (the agency and the accommodation person) benefited from the extra payment.”

Surrounding landscape was breathtaking, just as in the photos, even more beautiful! I'm dreaming of going back there and just staying in the homestay soaking in the views. The passionfruit smoothie was so delicious we ordered it every mealtime. We loved the good variety of fresh fruits every morning for breakfast, and the thick delicious Vietnamese coffee, with condensed milk and fresh milk available. We rented bicycles and a motorbike from the homestay, and we had a fabulous time going around the Trang-An area, visiting Hoa Lu ancient capital, Am Tiên, and taking the Trang-An boat cruise. The homestay also arranged a no-fuss seamless transfer back to Hanoi that cost cheaper than what our homestay in Hanoi charged.

It's just a minor issue. We weren't informed beforehand that Quoc Khan Bamboo Homestay was undergoing repair and so we actually stayed at For You Trang-An Homestay. But since the rate that we were charged when we booked Quoc Khan was the same as For You Homestay, all is well. We actually thought we got a better deal because we had the swimming pool right in front of our cabin.

Right on the waterfront, staff were fantastic. We arrive at 6am after an overnight bus and they let us sleep in a different room for a few hrs before we had brekky. We got to check in to our room early too! Nice breakfast, easy to rent scooters and a nice pool.

Unfortunately the doors have gaps around themso there were some mosquitos about but they didnt effect our sleep as much as we thought they would. Also, the shower drains into the corner of the bathroom so it gets the whole floor wet. Its by design but it was a bit strange!

I've been traveling through Southeast Asia for over a year, and this was the best homestay I've stayed at. The breakfast is great, with many options to choose from, and it's already included in the price of accommodation. They provide free stand-up paddling and also have bike and motorbike rentals. I stayed in the dormitory for 8 people, and the mattress was very comfortable. The staff is very kind, and the area where the hotel is located is beautiful, surrounded by nature and mountains. The sunset in front of the hotel is wonderful. I planned to stay for 3 days but ended up staying almost 1 week.

Great relaxing resort made of bamboo. Good breakfast (that needs to be ordered at the bar). Many places to sit and relax or work ("bamboo office"). Good value for price.

Bamboo building is attractive, however simple, not protecting much against mosquitos and noise from other guests. But that is something you are probably aware of when choosing such resort.

The host Thai is beautiful. The place is truly a home, and a family affair. The greater area - around Trang An is breathtaking. At Bamboo - you are living on the edge of a riverbank, surround by the most serene views of the mountains. We met some lovely people there - and can't stress enough how wonderful Thai, his brother and uncle are. So warm and welcoming.

This is probably the best accomodation we visited in Wietnam in 14 days. The staff really cares about the details : nice lighting options, a humidifier, a hairdryer, a clean and spacious bathroom. Hot water with good pressure. The bicycles are in bad shape but they are free and we still managed to do 130 km in 4 days. If you are planning to visit the Ninh Binh area, you definitely should book your stay here. Tam Coc is a nightmare. Here you get peace and quiet and the best views. Everything is within reach on a bicycle. We arrived at 4AM but the two gentlemen still allowed us to check in. Ended up extending the stay for two more days because the accomodation and the surrounding beauty of Ninh Binh area demanded more.

My heart is broken because I fell in love with the puppies. HURRY UP! That will not be little forever. Unlimited love and energy. We should pay extra for the happiness hormones.

Everything about this place speaks quiteness. The owner is amazing and can help you with anything that you may need. In the middle of nature, however, it is very close to the city and biggest temples. In 30 min you are in the city by bicycle, which is free of use. The food is great and has a lot of options for breakfast. Fast WiFi (worked from there and didn't have any problem). Bathrooms are cleaned all the time. Everything about this place has a sense of home in the countryside. Really recommend staying here. They also have motorbikes for rent, and you can pay everything at the end of your stay. I am very thankful that I stayed here.
