Amazing super beautiful location to stay. They have bikes and motorbikes to rent. I would suggest to rent a motorbike to go around. Grab would be a bit difficult to get. The laundry service was great and got it done in one day. Try their omelette for breakfast, it is out of the world!! The staff were nice too.

There were not many breakfast options. If you like coffee with milk, you won't get it as they have only condensed milk. It is not a big deal but just mentioning here to keep in mind to buy your own. The location is in the countryside so there are many roosters around which are very loud the whole night, so make sure to carry some earplugs. It would be the same problem in any hotel in Trang An.

The staff should be teaching every hotel what customer service means. They sent regular WhatsApp updates on the weather/flooding situation as we traveled from Hanoi after the typhoon. They brought meals to our room when the flooding at the hotel was too deep. They cooked for us even though they had to turn the power off to most of the hotel because of the flooding. The location is beautiful! Since you are staying away from most things they do have scooters and bicycles to rent. It is a family run hotel and they are all just the kindest, friendliest, most helpful people that go above and beyond for their guests.

Lovely location set just outside the village. Large rooms and nice swimming pool. Fantastic surrounding scenery and gardens with hammocks. Good food at restaurant with plenty of choice. Staff were happy to let us stay on site long after we checked out.

Website pictures showed TVs in rooms but there don't appear to be any. To be fair, TVs are not listed under room facilities. Black mould around shower could do with a clean.

Really lovely place to stay in Trang An, away from the main road but connected down a dirt track to other homestays and restaurants in a beautifal and lush mountainous valley. It's a quick bike ride to the Trang An riverboats, and just a bit more to the historic Hoa Lu capital site, and there is amazing accessible countryside all around this area. The retreat is just like the pictures, simple clean rooms, a lovely garden ambience, and a good swimming pool. But also the people running it are really kind and genuine and it's fairly easy to socialise with other guests around the pool area if that's what you want to do. Really, it's all very chilled.

It looks like there's development of nearby land, it'd be a shame to see the tranquillity of this place spoiled by over development. And to be honest, the coffee at breakfast is nothing to write home about .....

We had a really pleasant stay in Trang An! After our daily activities, it was great to relax in the beautiful garden and enjoy the pool — a perfect way to unwind. The air conditioning in the room worked well, which was much appreciated in the heat. We were also able to rent a motorbike easily, which made exploring the area very convenient. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, always ready to provide us with information about nearby attractions. They even took care of our belongings on the day we left, which we really appreciated. Overall, it’s a lovely and peaceful place to relax — highly recommended if you’re visiting Trang An!

There were a couple of small downsides: when we first arrived, the room had a bit of a strange smell, but it got better after some time. Also, it was raining heavily when we arrived, which didn’t help the first impression — but that’s just the weather!

The location is fantastic, only 1km from Trang An boat pier, and bicycles (and scooters) can be rented from the accommodation, which is very convenient. All main attractions can easily be reached on a motorbike. The room was quite spacious and clean, AC and WiFi worked well. The staff were incredibly nice, helpful and attentive! The place is beautifully surrounded by nature and very quiet (we slept really well).

The room had clear signs of wear and tear (scratched paint, rusty shower and mirror) - could use a little refurb. Breakfast was not great and there aren't many good options around.

Mountains and water all around. Yet a clean comfortable place run by a nice family, and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The staff helped arrange every trip and tour and greeted us daily before and after each tour, showing interest in our daily enjoyment. They were also flexible when our dates changed. The room is clean and big, modern but feels like part of nature too. Water pressure and hot water fantastic. Breakfast home made and amazing watermelon juice! They rent motorbikes or bicycles. I would return here.

Having previously stayed at The Tran Am retreat before,my wife and I were aware of how good it is. The location is excellent. A very convenient place to start you walks or cycle around the beautiful landscape that surround the retreat. The rooms are very clean and house keeping of a high standard. The bed comfortable and pillows soft. It is a very peaceful place to stay and as a light sleeper I appreciate that. Staff are friendly and attentive and always ready to assist. If you need to make any travel arrangements,talk to Sam. He will take care of everything at reasonable cost. I cannot praise this establishment enough.We had a fantastic stay. I thank all the staff there for making our visit a very pleasant one.

Nothing at all

I had an amazing stay here at Trang An Retreat! The staff were absolutely amazing, so kind, so accommodating and very helpful. It is a family run business. The food was cooked fresh and was excellent! They did a very great job organizing all my activities and transportation! They made suggestions where I could save money, offered suggestions of other places I might like to visit and were flexible when I wanted to add or cancel something last minute. The grounds are relaxing with the trees, mountain behind and hammocks everywhere. The bathroom was pretty decent for a remote area and the bathroom sink even had a filter on it for the water. Of the three places I stayed, its the only one where I saw that. The bed was very comfortable! Again, I stayed two other places…and this place had a soft comfortable bed while the others were rather hard. When I left, they walked me to the vehicle, helped with luggage and gave me a free bottle of water for my journey. They were extremely organized and on top of everything and I appreciated that. I would most definitely stay here again and would not have mind staying another night or two!

Honestly, there’s not much I didn’t like. I would say travelers should be aware that it is a boutique hotel and family run, so meals weren’t served all day. But there were other places around to eat. This is not a complaint, just something to note. The limo bus transportation they arranged for me was a little rough (I wasnt prepared that I would be exiting and getting on another van multiple times before reaching my destination, and the last van did not have good air conditioning). But that’s not their fault because they don’t run it, they just work with them. So again, just something for travelers to note should they choose to use the limo bus service the hotel coordinates. Other than that, my stay was perfect!

Tucked in a perfect location in Trang An. It sits right on the river with a quiet road running in the front of it. They rent mopeds and bicycles, which make exploring Ninh Binh quite convenient. The staff was very kind, welcoming, and helpful. They have a nice booklet with suggestions for the area as well. A lot of cute restaurants within 20 minutes of walking as well. The pool is extremely clean and meticulously kept. The beds are comfortable.

The bathroom was a bit dirty. The mirror was full of smudges and the stainless steel finishes (handles, faucets, etc.) were not clean. The white towels and sheets were a bit stained and could have been removed with some bleach maybe.
