Very clean, tidy, excellent food (room service and buffet breakfast), literally every single staff member was polite and friendly. I actually cannot wait to stay again on my way back through Johannesburg!

This is NOT the fault of the property but I found it hard to access, knowing that it is walking distance and in a carpark. You can actually see it from the terminal. My mistake was leaving terminal on ground floor and trying to get to the hotel on street level. Do not do this. There is a bridging walkway on lv 2 (?) to get easily to the hotel. There are even signs. Learn from my mistakes

The location of this hotel was perfect for a transit stay over, easy and safe walk from the airport terminal. When we arrived our check in was efficient and friendly, however when we got to our room it hadn’t been serviced (we arrived at around 3:30pm) This was very swiftly dealt with, allocating us another room with many apologies. Soon after settling in a team manager came to our room with more apologies and offered us complimentary breakfast. We were impressed with the friendly and prompt attention to solve the problem. Overall, all staff including in the dining area were lovely. The food, dinner and breakfast, were very good and value for money.

We loved how conveniently close it is to the airport. The Buffet both breakfast & dinner was excellent and the restaurant staff were very kind. The rooms are practical for lay overs. It was an absolute bonus that we could watch the Springboks play in the dining area.

Unfortunately the reception staff, checking in & out were very somber & can improve greatly as they are the first and last impression. Then a massive issue was our mattress being so uncomfortable that we ended up sleeping on the floor next to the bed (room 4214). When laying on it, it feels like a stretcher as there is no support in the middle. That is unacceptable.

City Lodge Hotel at OR Tambo International Airport was the perfect choice for the overnight layover for myself and my travel companion. She arrived a few hours before me, and though the room was in my name, they let her check-in and get comfy, which was a great relief to both of us. They were very nice and accommodating. This was recommended to me by someone who had stayed and I could very much recommend to anyone needing a place to stay.

I wasn't there really long enough to find any faults. The only thing that I can think of is the signage through the airport was not really clear, but I had been traveling for over 24 hours, so it could have been me.

We have stayed at The City Lodge at OR Tambo airport during our last 4 trips to Africa. The location inside the airport building is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from arrivals. We use it as a one night stay in between flights when same day connections to other African destinations can't be made. On our last trip we booked an early check-in and stayed overnight in order to help with our 9 hour time change. The room is comfortable and provides all of the necessities needed for a short stay. The room is clean, the staff is friendly, and the restaurant is good. It is the perfect place for us to stay while travelling into and out of Johannesburg airport. We stayed there 4 times during our last visit and will stay there again on our next trip to Africa.

Convenient location. Good breakfast with great hours/flexibility. Lobby/main hotel area is fancier than I expected. Rooms/hallways are a bit old but definitely sufficient and clean. The description on here seems to be lacking since I expected a run down motel vs a mid range airport hotel. If you don't want the food at the hotel you can easily walk into the airport and eat at the shopping area/ food court. you can also easily take the train to the city. Tour pickup from the airport area may be limited so that may be a consideration if you plan on staying more than a night or two. Tour pickup is from P2 - exit the elevators and go leftish towards the exit. It is not well marked.

The location is perfect since it is within walking distance to the airport terminals. When I checked in, the receptionist was very polite, cheerful and welcoming. I was pleased to be given a room with the most beautiful views of Johannesburg just as I had requested prior to my arrival. The room was excellent and had everything an international traveler would need (including different types of sockets to charge mobile phones or shaving machines). When I checked out, I was pleasantly surprised and grateful that one of the hotel staff (a young porter) carried my luggage and walked with me to Terminal B. A truly wonderful experience!

It is a great location for travelers with a connecting flight early the next day. The hotel is connected to the airport via a safe and convenient corridor (you can walk all the way to the hotel lift with your baggage trolley).

Great hotel for a transit stop. You literally get off the plan & walk through the airport to the hotel. I did have to ask for directions on my way, so hot tip: keep walking past the car park all the way to the end of the hall & take the brown elevator at the end to the hotel reception. The room itself was super comfortable & fairly quiet, for a hotel where people come & go at all hours. The room was spotlessly clean & the bed was very comfortable. It was pure heaven to climb into after a long day's travel. Late check out is available & very reasonable (I think it was about $20AUD to check out at 2pm). Great news if you're on the 5pm Qantas flight home to Australia!! And you can fill in an hour browsing the shops at the airport, it's just a short walk from the hotel.

its is just a few minutes walk after the customs and there are many signs leading the way. It was very clean and the perfect stay if you arrive late at the airport or need a place to stay before your flight. We stayed already twice here. The second time we stayed we want to visit something in the city before our late flight and they organised us a good personal transport.

We were a bit disappointed during the breakfast. The offer is great but we were not happy with the service. At the egg station I opted for poached eggs but I had to wait more 15 minutes. so that when I finally got them my mom was almost done with her plate or if she had waited would have had cold food. I also had to ask repeatedly for the eggs and did get them hard even though i ordered soft. Additionally, we chose the extensive breakfast option including complimentary drinks. Bug during the whole breakfast nobody took our order and after 50 minutes of breakfast we saw everyone around us getting good looking drinks where we werent even asked for it.
