This is my first choice Pousada de Juventude hostel in Portugal. The staff are always, welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The hostel is spacious with great facilities and thoroughly clean. The breakfast always sets me up for a good start to any day.

Nothing, I realise the Pousada de Juventude hostel system is not a privatised concern. The hostels facilities are budgeted . However the hostels compete well with private enterprises to provide good facilities in context with the name and purpose, i.e. a 'Place of rest' for the modern traveller.

Hugo on reception when we arrived was exceptional, he made us welcome, explained all we needed to know about our stay and facilities, told us where our room was located etc. Through out our stay all staff were friendly and helpful. Our room and bathroom was clean and comfortable and the view from our balcony across Portimao was a bonus. We enjoyed a few beers at the bar and played a couple of games of pool. We booked this expecting to have the usual cheap and cheerful stay but, instead we were delighted with an all round 5 star service. Highly recommend to all.

Nothing everything was exceptional.

I stayed for a week for a 3 day business trip at the Portim areana .The accommodation was sufficient nice and quiet with very helpful reception staff.Would stay again but would hire a vehicle to get around as the location is a little out of the way .Snacks or food avaliable afternoons and evenings would be helpful additional bonus.I would stay again nice place

breakfast was very good, lots of food. Had a lovely garden and a swimming pool which was not busy, very quiet and relaxing. The room was clean and spacious

noise from other guests, early in the morning, their voices seemed to echo. The location was well away from the beach and a short walk from a retail centre and bus station, which was OK as we like walking, but at night the area was deserted and we had to get taxis back as there was no bus service after about 8.30pm.

The Price was really good, I got positively surprised to see that there were gluten free options at the breakfast. The location is good, close to a shopping mall and several busses. It's pretty far from the beach, but buses are going several times an hour and the Ubers/taxis there are cheap (~5€). The dorm beds are comfortable. I have several back issues and slept like a baby on these beds.

The dorms where nice and clean, but would have been good to have a fan (it got super hot in the morning), a reading light and some curtains around the beds to make it more private. It is also pretty loud in the hallways, mainly children screaming and playing. The pool looked alright but the shower by the pool was not clean.

the breakfast was much better than I actually expected, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, the hostel was clean and there was a kitchen you can use, even though it’s a youth hostel it was still calm and overall I would say it’s great value for money

the location is 4-5km from the beach, but there’s either a bus stop very close to the hostel or you can take an Uber which will cost you around 5€

I like the location and enviorment

I have faced uncomfortable moments like during my stay 2 time staff changed my room so difficult to changed with luggage even one time at night 11.30 the staff came although i was sleeping and ask please go to another room i also request to this guy pleaae give me one night i will change tomorrow morning but he did't .according to that situation i feel that this hostel is very low in comfort zone

So helpful staff, all of them. Great location and down hill to town I got Uber back mostly €3-€4 that's all. WiFi great, several choices for breakfast, including different types of fruits and yogurt's etc and the fresh bread rolls omg delicious, plenty of tea and coffee including filter coffee and fruit juice or water ☕ 😃😍👌 lovely outdoor pool and lounging chairs also.. this is one of my favourite hostel's to stay in and WILL return. I wish I could stay longer 😔

Everything was just fine. According to the price it was very good quality. Those who expect a five star hotel, it's not your place. For the ones who only want a bed to sleep and a shower, it's more than fine. A little bad thing was that when I was there, the water of showers, no matter what you use cold or hot, were hot, too hot I would say. I think it was a failure or something.

great location, only 10 minutes in Uber from the beach! and only 10 minutes walk from the mall! also I liked the breakfast!

there weren’t enough plugs for charging and the pool was unfortunately very dirty
