This is the second time I have stayed at The Cumberland. I believe it provides great value for money and is in a very good location just off the main street. Although it is next door to a pub, I have never found this to be a disturbance, there being no loud music and just the odd noisy patron leaving. The rooms are a little aged, but clean and tidy.

The room itself was as expected. Spacious, tidy, clean. The pool was lovely on a hot afternoon. I would definitely recommend for a short stay, it was a good location, easy to park.

It took ten minutes of waiting in reception until somebody came to check us in. It was only just after 2pm which is check in time so was a bit disappointed but the man was friendly enough. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. One of the lamps on the bed head didn't work. Fire alarm outside went off at 4am and took a good ten minutes to have turned off. Not the hotels fault obviously but it woke up myself and my son which was not ideal after a long day of travelling and a late night.

Close to everything that we needed I had booked this motel room for a family member funeral

I didn't like how one of the staff members rang me up on Tuesday morning and asked me to pay for the room I booked for My reply was on the website it says I can pay the bill at the property,he told me that on the weekend they wanted the payment before hand and I told him its booked for the Friday and it's a funeral we are attending His reply was I still need you to pay now for Friday and I told him it's misleading you should change it to make it clear so I paid the room on the Tuesday and arrived on Friday If that is the case it should be noted on the website that you must pay in advance and not pay at the property

Staff are always very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and had everything that we needed for our stay. The location is great with so many food choices available within walking distance. Have stayed here in the past and will again.

The only thing I could say and this is no fault of the owners. Other guests who have no consideration for others and are noisy late at night.

This property was a pleasant surprise. we went when there was an event in the area and it was the only affordable one. we were not expecting much but were greeted with a comfortable family room in a great location for an amazing price. the staff were super friendly and helpful. the room had both and fridge and an aircon so couldn’t really ask for much more! Tv also had access to streaming services.

The beds were very comfortable, the shower was good, the price was good, the location was good, and the room was spacious compared to other motels we have stayed in. Would stay here again. We had a very nice dinner at the pub next door which meant we could have some wine and not needing to drive.

For the price, there is nothing to complain about.

This has been the best motel I've stayed in around the Cessnock area, for location, comfort and value for money.The friendly receptionist kindly changed my room to downstairs as I had so many bags. The room was big and the bed was really comfortable. It was quiet as well. Another plus was the microwave, toaster etc. I'll definitely be staying here again.

It was a bit too well-lit outside, although I appreciate this is a safety need.

Room and overall facilities were clean and tidy, although the room' was a little outdated. You can see they have been slowly renovating since our last stay. We had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Price was spot on. We will definitely continue to stay here in the future.

Stopped overnight from our trip back to Melbourne from Brisbane. Good communication from the staff. The previous guests must have used the kettle to boil something other than water so it was unpleasant, reception promptly changed it for a new one. A short walk from the Main Street. A BBQ area with table/chairs for use next to the pool which was nice to have.

The furniture are quite old. The beds are not very firm and was not the best to sleep in but was decent for a one night stopover
