Multiple things. I liked how the bed was against a window outlooking onto an awesome view. The lighting and technology in the room was great. Helpful staff. Coffee was delicious from the POD machine and I liked how it outlined what POD was what. Location was good, walked out the door to the shore and the beautiful walkway. The IPAD in the room was good where you can order drinks and mentioned the staff would even bring up the Uber eats you ordered!

Wow, we had a fantastic stay at The Little National. What a fab hotel with such amazing facilities. They have a fantastic library, perfect if you are travelling for work! Beautiful bar with delicious cocktails too! I didnt use the gym, but I checked it out and it was so clean and well equipped. The rooms are compact, but so well laid out - very happy with the comfy king sized bed! Over all, we had an amazing stay, and we'll definitely stay again!
The only tiny detail I have to mention was that the light-up control panel on the wall next to our bed was flashing on/off all night. It didn't really disrupt my sleep through the night, but definitely stopped me from being able to sleep in. That might have just a fault with the one in our room!

Check in was smooth. The staff were friendly. The library was a nice space to sit and relax or read a book. It was nice that you could make a cup of tea or grab a glass of water. We also had a drink at the bar which was nice and quiet and relaxing.
The board on the wall that controlled the blinds and curtains kept illuminating on and off all night on the 2nd evening of our stay which was a bit annoying as it was right next to the bed. I did advise the staff of this on checkout. It felt a little dismissive like it wasn’t a big deal. I kept waking up from the light illuminating.

Another fantastic offering from the Little National. Compact rooms packed with thoughtful details. Gigantic and absolutely heavenly bed, spacious shower and fabulous in room tea selection. The lounge atrium was comfortable. Well appointed gym. Variety of co-working spaces, including private, sound proofed rooms in the library. Perfect base to explore Honeysuckle and all that Newcastle city has to offer.
Water pressure was a little weak. As said in other reviews, it's not possible to walk around the bed. If you're on the window side, you face a long scramble to get out and to the loo, etc. No elevator in the carpark, this was not signposted when I drove in. While there were disabled parking spots on the higher levels, the only way back down to the hotel was via stairs (at least that I could find). If there really is no carpark elevator, would be great if that could be signposted in the carpark.

Just had my second stay at this fabulous hotel. I honestly just love everything about it. The lobby smells so good! Staff are friendly. Rooms are very clean. Super comfy bed. Block out blind is excellent (woke up at 9am and thought it was the middle of the night). Amenities are great!! Big shower, lovely lighting, everything is automated. The plush dressing gown and slippers are a lovely touch. Discovered this time, the Bluetooth speakers in the ceiling, music in the shower was such a vibe. The library area is really beautiful and I love the coffee station and sparkling water on tap, cold water stations on each floor. Short walk to the venue i was visiting. Lovely view of the bay from my room. I'll definitely be back again!
Nothing. Everything was perfect this time. I had trouble working the TV on a previous stay, but this time it was all good ☺️

It was nice and modern, the room, the library area and lounge bar area were all really nice. I feel the hotel pays attention to detail, the whole hotel had a pleasant scent throughout as you walked through, and calm music playing in the lifts. Check in was seamless and the hotel staff were also quite friendly. The bedroom had some unique features that helped make the stay more comfortable, for example black out curtains and you could change the lighting throughout the room in your bed so you don’t have to get up to turn the lights off. The room had built in speakers which you could connect to with Bluetooth which was a nice touch. I appreciated that they used a good brand coffee (St Ali) for the pod machine in the room and Byredo soaps/body washes etc for bathroom were also a nice touch too. Over all I enjoyed my stay here and would come back! Locations fairly good, 20 mins walk from the city centre Darby Street or 5 minutes walk to the Interchange station.
Honestly pretty happy with everything. Whilst the location was good it wasn’t perfect in the sense that the there weren’t many restaurant/cafe options immediately around (there were a few but not much). It would be so nice if the hotel had its own kitchen for breakfast, based on the quality of everything else, I could imagine they’d do it well! Over all this is much better than the average 4 star hotel, and better than some 5 star hotels I’ve been to.

The bed was great, we laid and watched movies and tv shows during our down time with all the curtains/blinds down with the ambient lighting on and it was so lovely. Kitchen had full amenities, mini fridge that was not just a “mini bar”, love when you can actually put your own drinks in a hotel fridge.
Wish they had room service! They did have a “lounge/bar” we got excited to see that on the tablet but it didn’t allow you to order drinks to your room unless you called to request it, I’d prefer to just be able to order through the tablet. Toilet was abit smelly which is random, the toilet door/glass screen is from floor to ceiling so every-time you’d open the door to the toilet you’d be hit in the face with the smell of sewage, just had to hold my breath to wee!

We liked how there was a bar, which was very relaxing which didn't have the noise of pub or club. Being waited on by the staff was an etc added value. Staff very lovely. As we left on Sunday morning once again did not get to try out Monte.
There wasn't anything we didn't like. Oh there is a couple things which I should mention it's nothing terrible is that because it is very Technolgy Hotel, not knowing how to use the coffee machine was one thing. And having the Ipad this is not something i was able to use. I am very old school but learning. the hot water in shower must be temperature controlled as well, it didn't, matter what we did we couldn't get a nice even warm shower. Even hubby commented about the shower having no warm water.

-Rooms: I was aware the rooms would be small as the width of the room would be the length of the bed but overall felt bigger than expected as the space was used well. -Loved the in-built speakers in the room and bathroom as well as the buttons for the lights and blinds/curtains. Excellent functions that worked well (some other hotels have this but don't work as well). -Filtered cold water tap outside of the lifts was excellent as well as the St Ali coffee capsules. -Gym was amazing (big, clean, had a very good variety of equipment), went every night!
-Bed: The bed position was unique, not the best (if you're on the window side, you have to crawl over a person to get on or off the bed) but it was fine as we knew this beforehand. -Bed/pillows: The bed was too soft for us, we were sinking and kept having to adjust. Pillows weren't right for us too. We slept without them.

Location is fabulous, easy to walk to the waterfront where there are numerous cafes, restaurants and bars. Great walking and bicycle tracks close. Staff were attentive and helpful. The facilities at the hotel are wonderful, all day coffee and tea, chilled water fountain on each floor and a bar that has Happy Hour daily! It is a great boutique hotel. The rooms are not large, but very well designed and the bathroom products are lovely. There is a cafe downstairs and have a wonderful breakfast menu.
We did have an issue on the first night with the very loud noise from the air conditioner and unfortunately, my husband had very little sleep, he actually had to go and get the night manager to hear it for themselves and they agreed. We were moved the next morning and no further concerns.
