The location Breakfast, there was something for everyone and a good variety. They also changed the menu regularly.

No ramp at front door making it difficult to carry luggage in/out Shower over bath Be careful if offered an upgrade. We accepted an upgrade to a superior king room. When we arrived there was only 1 bed (we were a party of 3) and had to pay extra for a trundler. We also had to ask for additional linen cups towels etc every evening which were delivered almost immediately and by very apologetic staff.

The hotel is very conveniently located a short walk from Central Station. Beds were extremely comfortable and rooms were spacious. Great that they offer 24hr room service, as we arrived late on an interstate train. Perfect stay to get around Sydney if you don't have a car, but parking also available next door.

The rooms were nice and clean but a/c vents a little dusty and some mould in silicone in bathroom. This is only a very small issue, and I would stay again.

Sydney Central Hotel managed by The Ascott Limited is such a central location! Rooms are clean and spacious. Staff are always friendly and helpful! I would recommend it as a great, convenient and affordable place to stay. Beds are so comfortable, especially as I have back problems. Choice of pillows on the bed were great as well. Stayed in a double room with the two double beds! Also helps that blinds block out as much light to ensure a great sleep!

I found the continental breakfast a bit expensive, and didn't include a barista made coffee - but that is a personal preference and I could have gone anywhere outside of the hotel for breakfast But in saying that the food was yum :)

The hotel has a great location - walking distance to Market City/Paddy's Market and Darling Harbour/Square/Pavillion so you will have access to great restaurants and attractions including a nice stroll through the park. The room looks a bit dated - reminds me of mid-90s hotel, the bones are good, the rooms are spacious but needed to update the furniture and add more lights, the rooms can be a bit dark.

I availed of the free breakfast, the first three days was okay but after 7 days of eating the same spread, I barely touched it the last two days of my stay, perhaps cater a few more meats or rotate some other grilled vegetables or an egg station so it's not boring and repetitive. No one will help you climb the stairs with your luggage so you better be capable of carrying it on a short flight of stairs by the entrance

Staff were helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is top notch, hot and tasty. Location was very good, walkable blocks from central station, paddy's market, and more tourist stops. Bed was comfy. Water pressure was good. Large bath towels. Outlet adapter available at reception. Lifts pretty fast. Room was large, there was a lot of wasted space, actually.

Room is dated but comfy. Wifi was good when on but would shut off randomly for extended periods. Room was not always cleaned well, trash bins not emptied, not all towels replaced. Would leave at 10am come back at 3pm and room was not clean. Safe on closet floor and hard to operate from there. Bathroom threshold is raised and could be dangerous if misstepted on. Shower in bathtub is awkward to get in and out of if you are elderly or limited mobility. It needs a hand rail to assist getting in and out. Overall, this was a positive stay.

We landed really early in the morning and was prepared to store our bags to go out exploring before check-in time, but was actually allowed to check in early since our room was available! Really appreciated it as we could get some rest after a long flight. The size of the room is very big - there was enough space to fit another bed! Definitely value for money. Location is near Central Station / Haymarket, you are basically near Chinatown which has lots of late night Asian food options (and you are only a 10 min walk from the nearest Gelato Messina!). Very accessible (around 7 - 10 min walk) location to light rail stops (Chinatown / Haymarket) and main train transit station at Central (airport connection is 15 - 20 min train ride!). From Chinatown (light rail), you are about 3 tram stops to Circular Quay, where Sydney Opera House is. From the hotel, you could walk 20 - 30 min to get into the heart of Sydney CBD and the shopping districts around Town Hall. There was also a Woolsworth Metro right round the corner (less than 5 min) and a Chemist Warehouse round the back (also about 5 min walk). We were provided with sufficient towels. Room came with a safe, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, some clothes hangers. There are two small drawers (outside of the wardrobe) that you can use. Basic amenities in the toilet were provided - hand soap, hand lotion, shampoo, conditioner.

However, the hotel room itself is a little dated. The water pressure in the showers were not great and fiddling with the hot / cold water knobs took some practice to perfect each shower. The shower itself was also in the bathtub which could be dangerous if you were less mobile. It is also a fixed shower head, not great if you are taller than 165cm. The glass screen which was installed only at the front half of the bath barely kept water out of the rest of the toilet and our floors were often wet after showering. Hotel could consider upgrading the bathrooms and/or changing the fixed shower heads and finnicky hot/cold water knobs. Hotel could also consider installing shower curtains.

We request earlier check in and it was granted. Really appreciated. The location is in the middle of everywhere. Chinatown, paddys market, thai town, darling square and a walk to townhall is a very short distance..

The air duct inside the bathroom was not cleaned properly and very dusty. Air condition is not user friendly. We could not adjust the air according to our prefer temperature. Its always only room temp only. With fluffy duvet, it is quite warm to sleep in the room temperature room.

Staff were excellent and responsive. They arranged to add a microwave to my room on request. When I reported serious issues with my original room, I was instantly moved to another one. They were very helpful with answering inquires. They also accepted a food delivery on my behalf and held it until I could pick it up. The rooms were large, with plenty of space to store and open luggage, a good size of hanging closet space, and lots of bench space in the bathroom for toiletries, etc. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Location is excellent. A short walk from central station, Darling Harbour (and Square), and both the Chinatown and Paddy's Market tram stops. It was easy to get around on public transport from the hotel or to simply walk to multiple areas of interest.

Some of the rooms are in need of maintenance. My original room had shower drains not glued in place, taps falling out of the wall/fixtures, and horrible pipe noises. At least one room adjoining it also had the terrible pipe noises, and an occupant that kept setting them off at midnight, 2am, 4am, 6am, 7am. However when I reported these issues to staff I was immediately moved to another room which had no issues, so big thank you to staff for that. The televisions do not have any apps available on them, so there is no ability to use your own streaming services on them.

Loved the Bartenders who shared with me great places to see and night life attractions for young people like me to enjoy. Great location with so many food and shopping options very near. Great food! Amazing housekeeping staff who were very quick to support my room needs! I very much enjoyed my stay, thank you!

The jacuzzi wasn't heated but it was a great swim. Also, I came down stairs with the hotel slippers for breakfast and was told I had to change shoes to be served. I thought it was silly given I've spent so much on my week stay and I should be able to be comfortable enough to eat breakfast in any slippers especially when breakfast wasn't complementary. I felt embarrassed to be turned away I didn't return for breakfast any day after that. Maybe be a little more sensitive on how you approach the dress code and make it more apparent for guests. Lastly, I really wish breakfast was complimentary.

When we arrived at the hotel we were so tired from a long road trip & more or less went to sleep within 30 minutes of entering the room - The room was adequate & the bed was very clean & comfortable - Breakfast was excellent & good value for money... We did buy a club sandwich from the room service menu & it was one of the best we have had - also it is great that this hotel is well located for transport, restaurants etc; It is an older establishment.

When we got up on our first morning my husband went to the shower & asked me to bring him his towel - no towels to be seen - so I had to ring for towels whilst hubby stood wet in the shower - We didn't like the extra high charges for parking & had difficulty in trying to exit the carport...
