One of the best hotels in Cairns. Fabulous pool, comfortable bed with a choice of pillows and depending on your room some spectacular views ! Enjoyed dining and cocktails at the Calypso club. Borrowed bikes to cruise by the water. Clean, stylish interiors. Love that they consider environmental impact/sustainability too.

Gym was small with limited equipment. Food quite expensive by pool and occasionally room service was slow/unresponsive.

Paying a $500 bond for a short stay. If we didn't have the funds it would've put us in a difficult situation because no hotel in the world has asked us before for a dear bond like $500 for a 5 night stay. Also, although the outdoor pooling area had a 'screen', it would have been in the hotel's interest to show a movie or two while everyone is in the pools. Hence, there was no real outdoor entertainment like even also having a DJ play some music and keeping everyone entertained. Some of the bars were completely 'dead' inside as well.

Situated with uninterrupted views of the sea, a short stroll to the wharf and town centre, Riley was superbly located for our short getaway to Cairns. We had an apartment style with King bed, balcony with stunning views, separate designer bath and spacious living area with those same views. Staff were super friendly and helpful and after leaving AirPods behind contacted us and have arranged for them to be posted. The beach style pool was exceptional - similar to a favourite Peppers in Port Douglas.

Nothing - if I had to say anything it would have been to supply a chux to clean up our coffee cups but it was all done by housekeeping :)

Beautiful hotel in a great location. The pools were amazing, our toddler loved the shallow kids pool and ‘beach’. We arrived late, headed to dinner in the restaurant with our toddler. The staff went above and beyond to serve us quickly and provide our tired boy lots of attention. The food was delicious- thank you.

The breakfast was not up to standard of a 5 star hotel. No one showed you to a table. The tables were unset, no one explained the breakfast set up. Coffee was from a machine or if you wished to ask for a barista coffee, it came with a bill of an additional $5 per coffee. Poor choice of food, 1 omelette at station- not even offering cheese! Skip the break and try the lovely local cafe about 50m away, Muddy Cafe. A shower poolside would be great.

My partner and I stayed in a King Suite and it was so lovely, clean and comfortable with modern touches. The layout was spacious, practical and made sense. I loved that the hotel provided a "courtesy room" to use after check-out, as we wanted to take a shower and freshen up before heading to the airport. We did not dine at the hotel's restaurants, but they looked nice. Muddy's Cafe was just a short walk away from the hotel which we highly recommend! As for parking, it was AUD15/ day for secure underground parking or free parking right in front of the hotel. Housekeeping was tidy and very efficient. The pools were fantastic. We would stay here again if we came back to Cairns. Thanks to the lovely team who made our babymoon stay very memorable!

Our room was fantastic, with the most incredible views! However, my personal favourite part was the pool & pool bar - the pool bar was open most of the day which was the best! Loved that you could grab a spot by the pool & order food & drinks (the Mango Tango is my all-time fave cocktail I’ve ever had now!) and not have to leave, if you didn’t want to. I also loved that there was music around the pool area too - such a vibe!

The only thing that put a damper on my stay was all the kids destroying the luxe tropical resort vibes at the pool with their screaming, jumping, and splashing etc. (that’s not the hotel’s fault - I know that’s what you get when you stay in a hotel over the Christmas/school holidays, but it would be good to have a section be for adults-only for those who would like to relax away from the chaos of other people’s children.

Second time staying here, first as newlyweds and now with our toddler. Fantastic pool facilities, you are able to order food directly to your pool lounger. The food is also very generously sized. The pool has a sand bank and a shallow area which is so fantastic for children. We spent most of our days here. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast every morning, it was cheaper to book this directly with the hotel. We stayed in a family room which was 2 adjoining rooms, great for babies to be able to take naps etc. Opposite the hotel is a fantastic park and playground. You are also walking distance to everything you need - food, shops, entertainment, beach etc.

Location, pool, view from the room. Were upgraded which was a very nice touch. Some people might not like it but we loved the sand in the pool.

I think the pool needs more attention. Perhaps a mid day cleaning will sort it out as there were lots of leaves in the water and one day I have noticed a chicken bone. It was cleaned the 2nd day after I have made them aware but if they would have a person check the pool mid day, and clean it, it’d be much better.

The staff were extremely friendly. The pool was lovely. Everything was clean. View was perfect of the pool and ocean. Bed was comfortable.

Everything seems satisfactory. If there was anything to complain about it would have been minor. But I can’t think of anything. The only thing I could really say was they should have, for at least NYE, had the pool stay open for longer. It would have been nice after the first fireworks at 9 pm to be able to go back into the pool for a bit longer.
