Lovely hotel room

For a luxury hotel it just lacked little details, like salt and pepper/ condiments with room service, they forgot I booked late check out and woke me up, the pool lounges were dirty, the pool water pH/ chemicals were unbalanced and my skin felt like cracking after a swim. So it was ok but disappointing cause I was after a luxury experience.

Facilities were great, very luxurious and modern.

Everything was fantastic however purpose of the stay was for a birthday. Didn’t receive any acknowledgement in the room or from staff despite advising them beforehand. E.g breakfast, champagne in room, room upgrade, etc

Very luxurious. Beautiful room. Comfy bed and possibly the best bath I’ve ever had!! Service was exceptional. The buffet breakfast was good quality with a very nice coffee! Lovely restaurant.

It is adjacent to Adelaide’s night club street and despite being on the 22nd floor with double glazing. The music was so loud I could not sleep. I recommend asking for a room close to the front of the hotel and as far from Hindley street as they can manage.

Location and facilities are prime. It is just next to Leigh Street where all good restaurants are and very close to other attractions in the city. Everything is within walkable distance.

Housekeeping would need some improvement. The first day we check in there were no coffee pods. After 2 nights of staying, we decided to change the old bathrobes so we put the dirty ones in the basin along with used towels. However they did not give us new robes or fail to notice that so we have to ask the concierge to give us some. In both situations the concierge was fast to send staff to replenish what we need.

The hotel staff were very polite, Beautiful rooms with very comfortable beds, pillows and good bedding. We did not want to get out from under the blanket. Good soundproofing, our room was near the elevator but we did not hear anything. Very tasty breakfasts, we were even allowed to take some buns and donuts and we were even given a plate to cover them and a bag.

The room we booked was for 3 people but when we arrived at the room we found that there were towels, robes and slippers only for two people and we had to call the reception to bring a full set for the third person. But the staff quickly organized everything. In the Men's Locker Room near the pool, the shower drain did not work, all the water from the shower spilled onto the floor

The rooms are spacious and feel like total luxury. The pool was fantastic, buffet breakfast was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful.

There probably needs to be more accessible communication, other than accessing information about the hotel via the television in the room. If you’re time poor, you likely won’t have the time (or older people may not have the knowledge to do so) to flick through all the different pages of information on the tv. A compendium which details if any mini bar items are complimentary and the cost of breakfast would have been ideal. We charged breakfast back to the room but weren’t told the cost of it, until check out (it’s $50 per person). Similarly, the valet parking costs were not advised until check out. Sharing this information at check in or having an easily accessible print out, would improve the hotel’s communication processes.

The staff were so good, easily the highlight of the stay, everyone you interacted with was so polite and attentive. Then there were the staff you didn’t interact with including when we left for dinner and came back to find some tea and kettles ready for an after noon tea and bed adjusted for sleeping. The bedding was comfortable, including the 2 different pillows if you prefer a thicker or thinner pillow. The selection of lighting was great and convenient and the blinds worked well to block out the light including since we stayed on a corner room which made that more important.

Kids at hotels just my personal preference lol I prefer hotel with adults only specially at a pool/hotel that nice you just want to relax not have kids splashing and being loud specially for the price your paying should definitely be a no kids hotel

Customer service is superb, out of the 6 hotels that we've been to, I must say that Sofitel's staff is 11 out of 10. They are not just there to serve , but rather to serve and give you satisfaction to the highest level , the smiles of the staff, especially the asian staff brightens, not just us but everyone, in the dining area, the room attendants will not just say their usual line "is there anything" but "is there anything else we can help you with an ear to ear smile, and ends the meeting not just with "your welcome maam" but instead "please let us know if there is qnything else you need ma'am, if you need this this..." you can feel that they love what they're doing, you can feel that they are serving with love.

No bathtub, a bit pricey compared to other hotels, with the price we paid for normally in other hotels there would be a bathtub in the room.

Amy and Rina were my favourite staff at the restaurant. I loved the individualised cooked breakfast experience. All meals served were excellent. I slept very well. I loved my view and the sofa by the windiw configuration. The shower was the best I’ve ever used in a five star hotel, including the Villaroy and Boch appliances.

The room had a weird looking chandelier made from metalwork. There did not appear to be a light switch for it. I did not like the Orwellian- like round mirror at all- it looks like a surveillance tool.
