Whenever I mentioned ‘Apollo Bay’ everyone said to stay at this hostel because it’s ‘Amazing’. Normally ‘hostel’ and ‘Amazing’ don’t go together but this was a really wonderful treat. The guys on check in and check out were beautiful and super helpful. There was a group booking who stayed in the rooms surrounding mine but I didn’t hear anything. I was surprised there were only 2 showers and 2 toilets for 14 (or so) rooms downstairs but there was never a queue or delayed using the facilities. I didn’t use the kitchen but had a look and it was super clean, common areas also! Parking was great because if you couldn’t get on the site, they had on road parking. I just loved it here, for a lone female traveler it’s a 10/10.

The door leading down to the rooms on the ground floor was super squeaky. Wasn’t a problem but you could hear it in the room.

Beds were comfortable and linen was clean. Kitchen was satisfactorily equipped. Great games room with pool table and board games and TV room was well stocked with DVDs. Location was fantastic, within a short walk to the beach and shops (about 150m). Beautiful sun deck on top to enjoy meals or drinks etc

The showers didn’t have great water pressure and water temperature wasn’t overly warm. Bathroom benches were usually wet as sink design meant water dripped out of the sink onto the bench no matter how careful you were. Prices were quite high for hostel style accomodation.

One of the cleanest “hostels” we’ve stayed in. Bed was super comfy with an actual duvet not just a sheet! Plus a big additional blanket just in case.. Shared bathrooms were spotless, kitchen was like being at home clean and full of everything you’d need.. the lounge rooms were equipped with comfy furniture dvds books smart tv. Roof top terrace great to chill. Cannot fault this, just round the corner from a few pubs or restaurants, and has parking! Staff were great answered all the questions and very friendly!

Everything you’d expect from a well run YHA! Great location, lots of common space and good kitchen area. Bathrooms were clean and well equipped (surprised to have a hairdryer!). Staff were friendly and generally a good stay.

No AC in the rooms which was to be expected but made for a hot night. The bunk beds wobble a lot so if you even slightly move, it shakes the top and bottom bunk which isn’t ideal. Top bunk had no plug sockets near to the bed so you had to leave valuables away from you to charge.

The whole hostel is eco hostel, nature daylight, window with green view from the room. The location is in the center of Apollo Bay easy to walk to the beach, shops, restaurant and grocery. The room and common area were always clean. The shower has a dry area which I really like They provides plenty of space for common area, kitchen, theatre room, working room. In summary my stay was impressive.

There has no personal plug for every beds and there were limited in the room so better provide a power board. The mattress were comfy but the bunk bed structure are not strong. It shakes when the guest of upper bed climb up and down.

Well-equipped clean kitchen. Comfortable beds. Good, big sized room. Could hang clothes. The furniture in the room was useful. Good shower & toilet facilities. Well-priced washing machine. Friendly staff. Easy check in & out.

Our room was next to the entrance to the corridor, with fire door, so it was a bit disturbing when the people staying on that corridor went in and out as it was a bit loud. Luckily we had ear plugs.

The hostel was nice, quiet, and clean. I liked that the rooms had patio doors, kitchen was well equipped. The mattress was very comfy and the bedding clean and soft, I had a good night sleep. I haven't explored much as I only stayed for one night but I liked what I saw.

Bed squeeks every time you move, no socket for the upper bunk, my light didn't work. I imagine the bathroom with only 2 toilets and showers gets very busy during peak times.

Very nice modern Eco property in the beautiful Apollo Bay. Close to everythiing still peacefull for a nice relaxing stay. Private rooms are spacious enough. Bed is comfy and you’ll sleep to the sound of the sea and birds song. Comunal spaces cover for all the needs. Wifi was good. Friendly staff. Lits to explore in the surrounding areas i.e Wildlife Wonders. Highly recommended.

Room was clean. The bed was comfortable and warm. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking at the hills and could see the water between the trees. It was peaceful and quiet.

There was no tea, coffee, sugar salt or staples such as oil to cook with. There was a strong food smell in the access area to the bathrooms. The stairs up to the room were a little annoying.

The cosy common room lounge with a wonderful fireplace. Modern well equipped kitchen. Hostel is a just stones throw from the beach :)

No one at reception anytime in the evening. Had to phone to get into the building on arrival even though it was within check-in hours. It's a shame YHA seems to be cutting back on staff hours. I used to enjoy getting the hints and tips about local highlights from the staff. It would have been nice to have had a personal touch
