We were a large group of 16 adults and booked 6 double rooms along with the 3 bedroom apartment. All rooms were exceptionally clean and each came with a small kitchenette. The apartment was amazing and perfect for 5 adults to share with all bedrooms and a large lounge room upstairs and full kitchen downstairs. The single beds were king singles and perfect for adults. The location was a perfect flat, short walk into Apollo Bay for dinner each evening. The manager, Phillip, was extremely friendly and was always checking everything was ok during our 3 night stay.

There was nothing to dislike.

Out of all the places we stayed at during our trip along the Great Ocean Rd, the Coastal Motel was by far the best place. The man at the reception (sorry I didn't get his name) was the most polite and helpful person I have ever come across at any accommodation I've ever stayed at. He happily answered our questions and was willing to help us with requests like getting our laundry dried using the motel's drying machine. He was even kind enough to bring our dried clothes to our room. Loved the room where we stayed. It was very spacious, clean and comfortable with great facilities, including a kitchenette. Handy having laundry services available on site, particularly since they were available 24/7. Able to park on site. Convienent location with a beach across the road, and within walking distance to restaurants, cafes and shops in the town centre. Would definitely stay here again if I ever get a chance to visit Apollo Bay again. Thanks to the motel and its staff for providing us with a wonderful stay!

Very modern renovations done recently. Very comfortable king bed and crispy clean linen. The pillows were so soft and comfortable and the shower was very clean and warm with lots of room in bathroom. The kitchen was clean and just right for a couple night stay. There was a table and chairs and lamps and the place had a quaint ambiance of a seaside motel back in the 60’ with a very modern twist inside the rooms. The manager was lovely and had a laugh, he was very attentive with all the holiday guests. I sat outside and watched the sun go down and listen to the Southern Ocean break on the shoreline. I will stay here every time I’m down this way I enjoyed it so much wife my wife. I believe after stay at many 5 star places around the world and I just stayed at a Melbourne 5 star ⭐️ that was certainly not. I give this little secret a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for friendliness, location, cleanliness outstanding, cuteness/modern/retro, the other guests, the beach, comfort of bed and linen. Yeh I liked the places.

LOCATION: 3hrs drive from Melbourne. Motel is situated in front of the beach and has beach access. Very good location as it is a 2mins. walk from the shops (IGA & Foodworks), restaurants, bistro, surf & tackle shops. It's situated in a tourist area but very quiet. It's an hour and 20mins drive to the 12 Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge. 5 mins away from Mariners Lookout where you can see the whole Apollo Bay from the top. HOTEL: I am very surprised with the room. It has everything we need: VEEEERY comfortable beds, microwave, water kettle, toaster, complete utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, heater/AC, decent size fridge, tv, airer to dry your clothes, hangers, iron, toiletries, towels, hair dryer, extra pillows and blanket. Room size is more than enough for us. We travel as a couple so I can only rate the king room we had and it was more than enough. I did have a peek on the other rooms that caters to groups, it has loft beds for family of 3 or 5 with complete dining area and a living room. You get your own assigned parking space just outside your door. Bathroom is decent size and very clean. Staff are very pleasant and keep to themselves. Price is cheaper compared to neighbouring motels. Very quiet, very safe, very comfortable. I enjoyed everything!

I didn't like that I couldn't take the king size bed home with me :(

One of the most comfortable beds in a hotel I've stayed in; and I've traveled to over 55 countries globally! The bathroom was brand new, so well done, and hot water was almost instant. Location was brilliant, just far enough away from the main stretch to be quiet and close enough for a 2min walk up to coffee and food. The pillows were so nice! We normally bring our own but forgot, and didn't need them. The only thing? The neighbours outside, smoking at 6.15am and coughing a LOT! That is not the hotels fault, but maybe a policy for a designated smoke area?

Being picky here: the front windows were very thin, and let in all the noise, as the hotel was busy and lots of people about, cars leaving at 6.45am.

Everything about this stay was fabulous! Couldn't fault a thing, was spotless, room was larger than expected and service was wonderful.

The hosts were so welcoming and even made sure they saw us before we left. The room was gorgeous, bright and clean. This motel is walking distance to everything in town.

When a person was having phone conversations near our door, we heard every word. This continued when he went inside. Would have been great it if it was a little more sound proof.

We booked only an hour in advance of our arrival. We were well met on arrival and the proprietor and the room were ready when we got there. Instructions for parking were made clear and on entering the room we were greeted with a well appointed, spacious, modernised, and very clean room. We only stayed the one night but tea, coffee, and breakfast making facilities were provided and also clean and appropriate for use. Room was delightful. The location was on the esplanade and so a quick stroill across the road brought us to the beach in under a minute.

This small motel was in a perfect location right along the main road through Apollo Bay. It was also right across the road from the beach for easy access. The accommodation had everything that we needed for a one-night stay. The kitchen was fairly well appointed for a small hotel, the bathroom had been recently renovated and the beds were comfortable. I would recommend this accommodation..

We had a hard time getting the temperature of the heater right, so woke up boiling in the middle of the night. We were thankful for the heater, because the evenings were chilly.

could do with a curtain as well as the blackout blinds to completely cover the sides, but that’s being very picky! value for money is EXCELLENT.
