A truly charming and beautiful property nestled in the lovely town of Grödig, just outside Salzburg. What we loved most was the peaceful, quiet setting — it felt like a little retreat away from the bustle, yet so close to everything. The entire place has been lovingly decorated by the family who owns it, and their warmth and care showed in every little detail throughout our stay. While air conditioning might be useful if you’re visiting during the peak of summer, we were there in mid-June and found the weather perfect — cool, pleasant, and ideal for relaxing. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made our stay feel special. Each one had its own little balcony or sit-out area — perfect for a quiet morning coffee or an evening unwind. The city is a quick 15 min bus ride away and the bus stop is just outside the property - making it extremely convenient. There is also ample parking at the property. Would recommend this to anyone visiting Salzburg.

We liked everything

WOW, what a great find this hotel is, in a small town of Godig set backnoff the main road (20 min bus ride to Salzburg from directly outside the hitel and less than €7 for a dayrider). A beautiful hotel inside and outside with some lovely views. Staff and food were exceptional, modern and clean. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and really well laid out. We will return.

No coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms (must pay locally downstairs near reception from a machine) and needs an option for firmer pillows.

Great stay, super clean and an amazing property managed with love by the owner (as seen from their attention to details). For us, this was definitely the place to stay as we wanted something close but not in the city itself. Vielen danke to the team and keep it up!

Some items that can perhaps be considered for further improvements (even though now is already top notched) include separating shampoo and body wash, providing options for harder pillows plus consider a sliding door for the shower room as it gets a bit chilly when showering while temperature outside is cold.

The hotel was only about 15 minutes from the centre of Salzburg and a regular bus service passes by the hotel. The hotel itself is quite small but that is a bonus as the staff go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. They were also very helpful and informative about the local area. The gardens around the hotel are really nice and a number of nicely designed car ports are available if you are travelling by car. The breakfast selection is superb and nicely presented. Overall I enjoyed my short stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it.

Felt genuinely welcomed by Klaus at reception. Breakfast: great variety, fresh produce, pleasant setting, excellent service under the watchful eye of Barbara and her team. Car park available if you’re driving, bus stop just around the corner offering convenient service to city center and elsewhere. We also liked use of the card system for entry into hotel. Perfect layout of the room. Human touch present when you needed it

Limited eating places in the area.

Friendly staff, quiet, safe location, plenty of parking, tasty breakfast, 2 big gardens very well maintained. It doesn;t serve dinner, but there are restaurants 10 min walk away from the hotel. The hotel is only 10km (20min) away from central Salzburg by car. The bus station is around the corner. The Eagle's Nest and the Rossfeld Panorama Strasse (Panoramic highway) are only 20 min away by car. The cable car is 5 min drive or 20 min walk away from the hotel. You can hike to the same location (Untersberg) (1300m ascent) from parking situated 5 min drive away - get there early as it gets filled up pretty quickly. You can rent bikes from the hotel and take advantage of the multiple trails that go to the city or neighbouring villages or towns.

We loved everything about Hotel Sallerhof! The accommodations were very clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent every day, lots of variety. The location was perfect, outside of Salzburg, but easy to get into Salzburg by bus. Also lots of very good restaurants close by. We wish we could return.

We loved our stay here at Sallehof, the staff could not do enough for us and the rooms were big and the beds warm and comfy,.. but the best feature is the large balcony where we could spend our evenings enjoying the view and relaxing....the bus stop is only a short distance from the hotel perhaps 5 mins and there are frequent buses into Salzberg , we enjoyed both going into the town centre and also just discovering the town of Groedig itself which is very pretty and unique

The hotel does not have any catering after breakfast but there are fridges in our rooms and there are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance from the hotel

I loved my stay at Hotel Sallerhof, the rooms were large and the large balcony with the amazing view of mount Untersberg was just breathtaking.... The breakfast was very good with a great selection and we often sat outside on the terrace in the garden and enjoyed the sunshine. This hotel was exceptional in all ways and our room was spacious and the bed was super comfy! The friendly town of Grodig also had plenty of authentic restaurants and places to dine and the bus leaves from outside the hotel and is a short ride to Salzberg centre

The only things if I had to choose what was not to like was that the pillows were a little flat for my liking .. they were very good feather pillows but I like a firmer one but I got used to it and asked for another one.

Location was perfect, very close to the Centre, 15min drive. Great hospitality, fantastic breakfast, very,very friendly host and staff. Next time Im travelling to Salzburg on business, this is definitely the place to stay.

Really nothing springs to mind really. I wouldnt change anything to be honest!
