The location was perfect it’s close to everything especially the Museum Quarters, Parliament House, & the main Shopping street. Lots of restaurants nearby & a grocery store not to mention the tram & train were just a few minutes away. Also, the hotel facilities were perfect fit for us. The room was big, bed was comfortable & the extra Devin bed was a nice spot. The room was always clean, towels were changed almost every day during our 4 nights stay. The balcony in our room was also a nice extra space to hang out for fresh air. The highlight for us was we celebrated two important milestone during our 4 night stays in Hotel Gilbert. The staff in this hotel were friendly and welcoming. Bianca made sure our special milestone celebration were well remembered. We celebrated my 64th birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary during our stay here at Hotel Gilbert. They made it special by providing a bottle of wine in our bedroom on our wedding anniversary with a lovely card greeting us. Also, on my birthday at breakfast, Kristina the German waitress gave a piece of cake with a candle to blow for my birthday. A very nice touch💖 which we’re very grateful. At our wedding anniversary dinner Thomas the bar & waiter on the night looked after us very well. Also Kristina was very helpful. Then also the other waitress (tall & beautiful can’t remember her name) was also helpful & friendly. The breakfast was good value & great food. We must also mention the person who keeps our room clean (Julianna??) thank you for your help. We will highly recommend this hotel, we love our stay & we will definitely come back next time we’re in Vienna.

The only minor thing we didn’t like in this hotel was the steps to get into the reception area. We had 4 Suitcases & we have to carry them all. The front desk staff (male & female) didn’t suggest to leave them near the steps given the lift was located next to the steps. So we carried them up to the reception then back down again to catch the lift after checking in. While the male staff tried to help it’s looked forced he didn’t look happy!

- The safe in the room didn't open with the correct code, staff told us that this tends to happen. - The TV wasn't tuned, only option was Netflix (which was fine for us). - We had to order coffee for breakfast from the waiting staff who seemed a little overwhelmed on the weekend. - Hotel doesn't have its own parking garage.

We loved our stay at Hotel Gilbert. The junior suite is well worth the upgrade and the images on the website do not do the room justice! It was huge! Bed was comfortable & staff very friendly and helpful. General location was great and walking distance to main sites and close to station.

Unfortunately we didn't like the breakfast at the hotel. There is a lack of variety (same thing everyday).. no hot plate so the eggs and bacon (which were the only hot things) got cold very quickly. There wasn't even a toast machine! Not worth the additional money.

Large quiet and clean room with comfortable bed. Plenty of space for open suitcases and also shelves for clothes etc. Good size bathroom with excellent shower. Good breakfast spread. Close to Metro line in the Museum district Funky decoration with record player in each room along with several vinyl discs to enjoy.

No toast available at the breakfast buffet. Reception staff did not pass on our early morning request to cancel the following night's accommodation. As a result when we eventually spoke with the manager there was less that the 24 hours notice required and we had to pay for the extra night.

Unique ambience with plants and light jazz music. Our junior suite room was quite spacious and equipped with a vinyl record player (with a few vinyl albums), which was quite fun. Breakfast was delicious and very vegan/vegetarian friendly. Though we are meat eaters, we enjoyed the selection of vegetables along with the usual meats, cheeses, and breads of a normal continental breakfast. The gym was exceptionally well fitted with Olympic style free weights and dumbbells along with cable machines. Treadmill, elliptical, and cycle were available for cardio workout. I would highly recommend this hotel to someone who has a serious weight lifting routine and wants a healthy breakfast.

May be a little too eccentric for someone who is looking for a Hilton experience.

The vibe of Hotel Gilbert is great - kind of hipster, but not overwhelmingly so. There are a lot of nice little touches (like room spray you're encouraged to take home). The restaurant and bar were both top notch - I completely recommend their house cuvée white if you like natural wines, and the spring vegetable gnocchi was perfect.

My only issues are that I found the breakfast to be good but a bit overpriced, and I noticed that it's not effortlessly accessible if you have mobility issues or use a wheelchair (it's a bit of a faff to get to the lifts and into the lobby if you rely on wheeled transport, but absolutely possible).

Location was great - central enough to access the main sites but not busy or noisy. We booked very last minute and was lucky enough to enjoy the junior suite. However there were steps in order to reach the lobby, so we had to carry our luggages up to checkin. The reception area had no space for guests who are waiting to speak to the front desk because the entire area is occupied by seats from the & flora restaurant. Breakfast was mediocre, it would have been nice to have more fruits. Our room was located on the 6/f below the gym so we hear thumping sounds from time to time from above, which was not ideal. The room itself and shower was fabulous, except the towels were thin and pillows were way too soft / flat. Overall we had a pleasant stay but I wouldn’t say it is good value for money.

Hotel Gilbert in Vienna is such a cool place. The vibe is super chill but still stylish—modern, artsy, and full of plants and personality. It feels welcoming from the second you walk in, like a mix between a cozy café and a trendy boutique. The staff was super friendly and always ready to help where needed. One of the best parts? The breakfast. Seriously, it’s not your usual boring hotel stuff. They’ve got really unique options—fresh, tasty, and clearly made with love. Things like roasted veggies, interesting toppings, and fresh herbs. Everything feels a bit special and different, in the best way. You can tell they care about quality and flavor. The location is also a big plus. There are plenty of cool bars and restaurants just a short walk away. If you’re looking for a place in Vienna that’s got a great atmosphere and pays attention to the little things, Hotel Gilbert is a winner. Would totally stay again.

It is a very well located hotel, probably a building from the 70's, nicely redesigned. The design is really the plus and the reason why I chose the hotel in the first place. It is very near to the Museumsquartier and the Ring/Volktstheater, so from there you can easily walk to all city centre objectives. They have a sauna and a small gym.

Although the page on booking wasn't clear about it, breakfast was not included, what I honestly couldn't think is possible when a night costs ca. 250 euros for one person! Sp breakfast was another 50 euros for two mornings. The room was smaller than anticipated, towards an always noisy back street, and the amenities were a bit basic (for instance no bath robe although they have a sauna). Very soft mattress, I had the feeling the bed isn't straight and I could fall asleep only at great effort. Not very friendly staff (although formally correct and basically polite).

The hotel is well located, in a quiet neighborhood, but close to the action. We walked all over the city, even if we mostly explored inside the Ring. The look of the hotel appealed online, and it's true to the photos. Breakfast offered a lot of choice, in a nice setting. The restaurant is worth dining for dinner. The room was on the small side, but adequate.

I thought it was a decent value, but as a single traveler, thought it a tad on the expensive side. Sometimes the restaurant staff was inattentive, but perhaps they are just busy.
