Property was in a really good location, close to the city centre, shops, cathedral, some restaurants and tube station. Evening walks close to the property were perfect

The only thing the property lacked was there was no air conditioning in the property, there was a fan in the room but air conditioning would of been ideal

The location of the hotel is excellent with one of the main hubs for trams, busses or underground 5 minutes away. The hotel was very quite and no loud noises were heard. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel was also very kind in letting us check-in earlier and leaving the luggage there after check-out as we had a late flight.

Reception opens at 9am which is a bit late as most of the tourists leave between 8 and 8.30am to start going around Vienna. The second thing is that the double beds are separate and on wheels so at times, the beds start separating from each other drifting apart which becomes very annoying. The idea is good but I suggest to put brakes on the wheels.

The location is perfect — everything is within walking distance. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable, and the bedding was fresh. Heating and plumbing worked perfectly. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and spoke several languages — that was truly a highlight of the stay.

What could be improved: Soundproofing is quite weak, as in many hotels, and could definitely be better. Also, there was a noticeable difference between the beautiful, polished photos online and the actual condition of the hotel. While it has its charm and character, a light renovation would help bring out its best features.

Our room was wonderful and spacious. Because there are other businesses in the building, they don't seem to care for the entrance. I was a bit worried when we the cab dropped us off because the front door area was a bit messy. However, when we reached our room we were pleasantly surprised. There was a question about wifi- it wasn't consistent. Sometimes we would get it and sometimes we didn't.

As I said, the entrance could be cleaner but that would mean other businesses would have to cooperate. We don't watch much television but it would have been nice to have an English channel to catch up on the news.

We loved our stay at Hotel Pension Baron am Schottentor ! Awsome looking and clean room and great location for a reasonable price ! We were so happy to have found this Hotel ! It’s walking distance from the Innere Stadt and surrounded with good restaurants and terrasses ! There’s also a little sausage stand by the Hotel where we loved having sausages (they were so good !). The staff was also very kind and helpful. A wonderful experience. We would go back in an instant. What a magnificent city Vienna is !

Nothing.

The hotel staff was VERY clear about the directions for check-in after hours. Both of the reception staff whom I met were very helpful regarding restaurant options and general questions. The reception area shows some well-loved wear, and the carpet on the stairs to the second floor is well-worn. I thought that the ambiance added to the charm, and made me feel as if I was staying in an "old-style" hotel. My room was absolutely spotless, and well-appointed, with plenty of access to mains for recharging phones and tablets. The room also had a fridge and safe, which I didn't expect (maybe I didn't read the room appointment list). The property is located about three blocks from the metro, and there is a tram stop almost immediately outside the hotel entrance. There are many restaurants within either a short tram ride or within walking distance, as well as many different takeaway options. The hotel offers a (paid) car service to the airport with 24-hour prior notice. The mattresses were super-comfy.

The hotel faces a busy street, so if the windows are open, you'll hear ambulances and trams. With the windows closed, you heard the trams a bit, but it wasn't annoying, just part of the fabric of the hotel. I visited in the winter, and the room was quite warm; the heat in the ensuite had been left partially on, and it was enough to heat the entire room. I guess that really isn't a complaint, just something to note. If you like to have a facecloth in the shower, take your own (although I didn't ask if they were available).

During my trip to Vienna, I had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Baron, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. I booked a single room, which was both comfortable and well-appointed. The room had a warm, classic decor that added to the hotel’s inviting atmosphere. It was spotless and well-maintained, with a cozy bed that made for a restful night’s sleep. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches like a compact desk, a minibar, and an efficient heating system, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The staff stood out for their friendliness and professionalism, always eager to assist with recommendations or any needs I had. The location was another major advantage—situated in a central area, with convenient public transport connections. Overall, Hotel Baron provided a wonderful experience, and I would gladly stay here again on my next visit to Vienna!

Location was great! We could open the window and see the gorgeous Votive church and also the bustling night life of Wien below. After viewing this extra bonus, we put earplugs in, left the window open to the lovely night air and slept soundly on the comfortable beds. The room was small and was what we expected, with no surprises or hidden charges. Really appreciated the little refrigerator, as Wien has such reasonable, fresh food. Staff was polite and informative. The chandelier and purple color of the room was pretty cool as well.

We liked everything. There were steps to climb but that’s Wien!

The position of the hotel was exceptional. A metro just up the road, a 15-20 minute walk and you are in city centre, a pub opposite the hotel with super delicious food, Mc Donalds up the road. The room was large and clean. We had a balcony which was lovely. Staff helpful and communication was easy. They even organised the airport transfer for us which was quite comfortable due to our early and late flights.

Everything was great!

Room was excellent, comfy and clean. Hotel entrance and living areas are very beautiful, gives you a nice vibes. The location is the top thing, you are basically surrounded by lots of coffee places, shops and restaurants and most importantly, you are in the center of Vienna where everything is a reachable by walk but also, the metro station is just 3 minutes away!

no coffee, tea provided. Room was little bit small. But in general, i loved everything!
