Location was perfect, I could walk everywhere in a very short time (literally 5-10 minutes to biggest museums/ main sightseeing spots) but it was still in a quiet area despite being in a central spot. The hotel itself is quite charming, it retains this romantic feeling while being fully renovated, rooms are spacious and comfortable, beds and bathrooms as well (I had a single room and the bathroom was, to my delight, normal size). Being close to a church there were bells signalling the hours but that didn't bother me, on the contrary, it brought back some nostalgia. The staff have been very polite, helpful, professional and friendly, honestly the most gracious I have ever encountered in any hotel, they really take care of you. Everybody I encountered working here has been patient and always wearing a smile, and, being a solo traveller, they made my stay here so comfortable. The breakfast was included in my booking and it was amazing (having a mild lactose intolerance I was most happy to find they have a vegan corner with everything, from butter to yoghurt to milk, so that I didn't have to worry); they have a wide range of options, from sweet to savoury, and I was actually very pleased to find I could diverse my breakfast every morning (also, everything was delicious). Overall I cannot recommend this hotel enough, in particular to solo travellers but also to anyone who wants to have the perfect starting point to explore the city.

Hotel Wandl exceeded our expectations! We stayed there July 11-15, 2025. Starting with the front desk staff-everybody was wonderful, warm and inviting. We had questions which they very enthusiastically answered and took their time to explain some of the areas/directions that we needed answered. Our first night we realized our air conditioning wasn’t working as good as it should and the next day I mentioned it to the front desk clerk, and when when we returned from our outings that day, everything was working perfectly. The rooms are not the largest…but they are more than adequate with a very comfortable (king) bed and pillows. Our shower was great and had excellent water pressure. The breakfasts were delicious and had a lot to offer. They always had scrambled eggs and sausages as well as a wide variety of cut meats and cheeses, tomatoes, cereals, yogurts, fresh fruits, a large selection of different bread/rolls/croissants and sweet treats. Also offered an array of juices and had an excellent coffee machine where I had my cappuccino every morning. You could not ask for a better location!! It is located directly behind Saint Peter‘s Cathedral in the heart of the Inner Stadt district. It was just mere steps to Saint Stephen’s Cathedral, restaurants, and shops. When we researched what area to stay…this was the premier district to stay in as it’s close to everything. We either walked where we needed to go or took an Uber. We never had to wait more than just one to five minutes for an Uber to arrive. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and if we ever visit beautiful Vienna again…we would only stay at hotel Wandl! You will not be disappointed.

Nothing could be better.

Firstly, I must commend the location of WANDL Hotel. It is undoubtedly the best place for any tourist, situated right in the heart of the city and within close proximity to all essential amenities. This accessibility truly enhances the overall experience for visitors looking to explore. I found the cleanliness of the room to be satisfactory; it was well-maintained and tidy upon arrival. However, I did notice that my room did not have a view, which limited my ability to fully appreciate what WANDL hotel has to offer from that perspective. Regarding breakfast, while it was enjoyable, I believe there is room for improvement. Enhancing this aspect could significantly elevate the guest experience and leave a lasting impression.

The location: you can‘t be more central. Close to subway station Stephansdom (which is also linked to Bahnhof Mitte for the airport transfer) and there is a bus stop 100 m from the hotel. The street is quiet. Breakfast: delicious. Good quality and a lot of choice, also for vegan people (chia pudding, a lot of fresh fruits, a lot of different types of bread, vegan spreads like hummus) Really nice staff

Only negative point: we had rooms with windows to the courtyard which is closed on the top by glass. During the day I couldn‘t tell the weather and at night, the courtyard was illuminated and my window was next to a light. There are curtains and blinds, but it was still not totally dark in the room, which could be annoying for some people. You couldn‘t really air the room neither.

The welcome from the staff was very friendly and courteous - especially Sedat, who was extremely helpful when I had a problem, very shortly after arrival, with the airport taxi service I had arranged through booking.com. He was also very helpful in providing advice and guidance about various restaurants. Indeed, all the staff offered help in that regard. My room was spacious and comfortable, and although the hotel is right opposite one of Vienna’s historic churches, the bells did not ring through the night! Excellent and varied breakfast buffet with helpful, friendly staff.

I suppose it is simply a sign of the times for hotels to have coffee machines at breakfast, although in an ideal world I prefer to have a kaenchen brought to my table. Still, the selection of coffees provided by the machines was extensive and the quality of the coffee very good.

I was a bit put off by some of the reviews that cited there was no air conditioning, poor wifi, and uncomfortable beds. I'm glad I disregarded those reviews because those points were completely untrue in my experience; I had great working AC, good wifi connection through the whole building, and a very comfortable bed. Moreover, my room was absolutely spotless, breakfast was great, my view was unexpectedly AMAZING (on floor 4 looking out to the back of St. Peter's), and the location absolutely can not be beat. I walked everywhere and there is so much to see/do/eat in very close proximity. For the relatively low price I paid, this was an excellent value and I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to first time solo travelers to Vienna like myself.

The only improvement here could be the addition of a mini fridge and coffee makers in the rooms.

Everything about the hotel is perfect, amazing location right in the center of the best part of the city, spotlessly clean everywhere in the hotel and a very comfortable bed, the staff are all friendly and helpful, the breakfast is delicious with plenty of choices. Hotel wandl made my visit to Vienna with my 8 year old granddaughter even more memorable, she loved the room and the balcony where we looked directly at the st peters church and down onto the streets below with the horses and carriages driving by, she took as many photos at the hotel as she did at the Spanish riding school and the Ferris wheel. Anyone wanting a clean safe and luxurious place to stay in Vienna couldn't possibly want better, thank you to all the staff and I am recommending the hotel to my daughter's, who now want to visit.

The fact that we didn't stay longer

1. Location is totally brilliant 2. Staff friendly & well informed 3. Room looking onto courtyard absolutely fine for a week or long weekend

1. It's 2025 and no USB charging points (or spare electric sockets next to the bed) for charging a phone. 2. Breakfast is an excellent mix of fresh ingredients & the staff are continually keeping on top of the buffet & used crockery - great job - there was however always a short wait for tables particularly if you are a party of 4 or more. 3. The hotel bar is badly designed, hardly used & frankly boring. Lots of local bars but it's often nice to get back to the hotel for a nightcap but not here. Never busy & closes at 11pm - unless it changes, it won't succeed.

The location is super perfect. It's right in the Heart of Vienna. The staff are all lovely, including the kitchen staff. Although, everyday the breakfast menu doesn't change, still nice and yummy. I would definitely come back there again and would recommend it to anyone who likes to save in uber n public transport to Vienna city. Cheers from Australia

I had to catch a very very early flight. Checked out at 4am approx. I had my bags in the lobby and stepped out for a quick look of the beautiful church that is in front of the hotel. To my great surprise, the doors to the hotel were shut, I could not get in to the hotel to collect my bags. It was a panic mode for me. Wish there was a door bell to the hotel. I was knocking the door like a crazy person and there was zero chance of anyone hearing me knocking! Luckily, I had my mobile with me. And it was charged! You can imagine the rest! So Please please arrange a door bell. Every thing else was Perfect. Thank you Hotel Wandl Cheers

This is a very old hotel in Vienna city center but the building is in excellent shape. The staff is very kind and service-minded. The room had a window towards an inner courtyard so no noise from traffic. The bed was very comfortable! WiFi worked very well no hick ups. The room was cleaned early sometimes during breakfast. Breakfast was excellent with great variety. The location is very good within walking distance for all attractions.

Nothing to complain about. The room price is high but well worth the money spent.
