Beautifully renovated common areas including the restaurant, lobby bar and a great selection of spa experiences - multiple saunas, steam baths, a salt room, a swimming pool, and both an outdoor hot tub and another sauna. Walking time to the cabin lift was app. 15mins with a dedicated shuttle provided by the hotel.

The hotel is currently updating it's rooms and by summer of 2025 will have replaced its current mattresses and pillows. These were the only slight discomfort during our stay. The rooms were otherwise clean, tidy and spacious.

The indoor pool and spa facilities overall. The outdoor jacuzzi under the pine trees. Restaurant was also very good, we ordered a la carte. Room was spacious enough to accomodate 2+2 kids (studio) and beds were comfortable. Very peaceful place but was not too busy at the time we were in (end June)

Massage services were not available Pancakes in the morning, all though freshly made, tasted bad, recepy could improve, is not that difficult Pillows felt very sintetic, not comfortable either. Price range high but this is subjective.

- Property located in a quiet, green area - Still within walking distance (10-15 minutes) from Borovets central area - Shuttle to center very helpful - Nice facilities, ski depot, pool, sauna - Large parking area, though at exactly same daily rate as parking in Borovets center - should have some discount for hotel guests

- If there is one thing that destroys the overall good impression about the hotel is the complete lack of hospitality and profesionalism by the hotel staff at reception and at the uper floor of the bar - I had a very unpleasant situation with one of hotel’s receptionist (Krisi) that was completely not friendly and helpful when we tried to book table tennis and pool table - anything we asked was not possible (reservation of table tennis, refund of pool table fees, as the coins got stuck in the designated input slot), the fact that I paid by card and it would have been very hard for her to provide a refund on the card… - Very few of the hotel rooms have balcony and upgrades at the reception are not welcomed

We had a lovely weekend at the Hotel Lion in Borovets. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel offered an excellent value for the amenities provided. Our room was spacious and comfortable. All the spa facilities were excellent, and the meals in the restaurant were well prepared. Really, the restaurant is so convenient we felt no need to go up into the center of Borovets and were happy to have every meal at the hotel. The breakfast included with the room is also excellent with a very large selection to choose from. The Lobby Bar is also the perfect spot for an excellent afternoon coffee or drink. The location in the woods is also very peaceful. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already planning a return visit!

A couple things were a little worn in the room -- the arm rest on the couch, and a small patch of peeling wall paper behind it. Nothing that at all detracted from enjoying our stay, and the rest of the facilities more than made up for those small little details.

This is the second time in a row that we visited Lion Hotel in Borovets. The main reason is skiing but the other reason is the hotel! In this accommodation you’ll find everything you need. The breakfast buffet is really good and well thought out with many options. The spa is amazing, I especially enjoyed the outdoor sauna and the jacuzzi but mostly on the day that we took off from skiing because in the afternoon it gets really crowded inside and out. There’s a van that gets you to the ski lifts everyday which is an almost 3 min drive. We didn’t get the evening buffet but we loved the food in the restaurant that has quite reasonably prices and very polite and lovely stuff. The room was spacious!

I don’t love the carpet in the rooms and all over the hotel, that’s the only reason I took one rating off of cleaning, because I feel that however much you clean it, it will never be clean clean and I know the cleaning ladies are doing an amazing job. So that’s more of a personal preference.

I've made the booking for my family. Overall they were quite happy with the facilities, restaurant, pool and room size. According to them the breakfast was great and food at the restaurant was delicious.

There was a strange situation with the massage therapist. My relatives had two back massages. Neither of them were happy with the massage, comparing to previous experiences. The lady barely spoke Bulgarian, but that is not important. Anyhow, what stroke me was the fact that when my mother-in-law wanted to pay at the reception for the massage, she was in a way "pressed" by the receptionist and by the massage therapist to provide a tip . Tips should be given based on your satisfaction with a service. They were obviously not happy with the experience, therefore they didn't want to provide a tip. This is pretty ugly, begging for money. I would suggest that there is more focus on the quality of the massage which will eventually earn the therapist the much wanted tip.

The hotel is located at a tranquil place surrounded by a forest. The staff was polite and friendly, the room was spacious and the bed was big enough. Breakfast and dinner were limited in options, but everything was fresh and delicious, so the whole family was happy with the meals. SPA was very nice especially the herbal sauna and the salt room. There is a kids center with a nice lady taking care of the kids and our kids loved to play there after dinner. All in all it was a nice stay.

There is a parking fee of 10 BGN per day only valid for the winter season which is a bit disturbing. There are no bath robes for children for the SPA. Rooms and bathrooms were OK but could use a little renovation.

Very clean and quiet, located in the forest part. Good breakfast. Good and warm swimming pool. Large rooms. Very nice lobby with bar. Great hospitality.

Liked everything. However, few notes: - Our room was without air conditioner. We did not need it in the middle of September. - Sauna was not functioning. - Although the jacuzzi was hot, it could have been hotter.

For 3 adults, we booked a standard room, but we received a free upgrade to an extended room (spacious and well equipped). Very quiet area, in the forest, about 20-25 min walk to the gondola (in summer). Superb breakfast, buffet in WE and a-la-carte during the week (to choose from several options) when there are fewer guests. Varied a-la-carte menu for dinner, large and tasty dishes, fast service (but we were the only ones in the restaurant) The swimming pool and the fitness room were open, clean and free, but we didn't use them (we came back very tired from the mountain)

4-5 soup options on the menu, but... at 18-18.30 (when we were returning from the mountain) there was only one option (or even none). The mattresses need to be changed, they are a bit uncomfortable.

Rooms are spacious, staff were very friendly, breakfast and dinner was amazing. Many options, you will never get bored. Free wine and beer with half board option every night. Salads and vegetables were so fresh and tasty, you don’t get same taste in uk. Spa was great- sauna, steam room, pool, relaxation area. All you need after long day on slopes. Free shuttle to slopes every 20 mins.
