The location was excellent, the room and the breakfast was good enough.

Only problem was with the parking, because I was searching for a hotel with the parking plot, it was presented about the information at hotel they have. But they could not give it, and the parking possibility was nearby with only short message by phone. But with a forign cellphone it was impossible! Fortunatelly the receptionist help us and start for our car parking by her cellphone, but I think, it was not correct information on booking.com. about the real situation connected the parking.

I stayed at Slavyanska Beseda Hotel for six nights and had a very good experience overall. The greatest advantage is the location — right in the heart of Sofia, within easy walking distance to Sofia University, major landmarks, shops, and public transport. The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was reliable throughout my stay. The hotel itself is a bit old-fashioned and could benefit from some renovation, but everything was functional and well-maintained. The price was very reasonable for the location and the quality of service provided.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. Although it was old, it had a beautiful view and was very well maintained. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, and I really enjoyed the meal. Above all, the staff were extremely kind and friendly. They answered every question with sincerity and always made an effort to respond thoroughly. Located in the center of the historic city of Sofia, Bulgaria, the hotel was perfect for sightseeing. I was very satisfied with my stay.! "Next time I have the chance, I would love to stay again."

The shower curtain rod in the bath wasn't very fixed. That needs improvement ^^

While this hotel looks really quite dated, it is an excellent combination of location, room size, and price. The hotel is less than a 10 minute walk from both the cathedral and Vitosha boulevard, and 10 mins from the University metro, so very easy to get to from the airport. The rooms were large, and the bed comfortable - the four pillows on the bed were of varied softness/hardness. i'm not sure if that was deliberate, but a nice touch. It was in the high 30s C when I visited Sofia, so the fact the air conditioning worked really well was welcome. There was also a small fridge, with various mini-bar items, although I used the space for my own water. There is a supermarket just a couple of doors down, which was also an added bonus. Water is very cheap there, and there was also an excellent selection of other items. The bathroom was a decent size, again, a bit dated. Shower was fine, although the bath leaked (that said, the floor had a drain, so was probably a former wet room, so this wasn't a problem. The breakfast area was pretty cramped (I'd recommend they get smaller chairs). However, there really was a very good selection of hot and cold breakfast items. Some travellers may not like the dated look of the hotel, the rickety elevator, very old carpeting. However, in terms of space, location, and value for money, this hotel has a lot to recommend it.

To be sure, the hotel is dated, but the rooms are large enough to rest or work in. The bath leaked a bit, but there was a drain on the bathroom floor, so it soon dried up. I'm told there was a problem with the air conditioning on the top floor, but it was totally fine in my room. Breakfast conditions were a little cramped, but more than made up for by the very good choice. To be honest, for the price, this was excellent value. I stayed for 7 nights, and I would stay there again.

Staff very nice and helpful. Hotel restaurant is a chinese, reasonably priced, service hit and miss, cleanliness left a bit to be desired but food was hot and freshly cooked. Breakfast was in the little bistro upstairs, nice selection of hot and cold drinks and hot and cold food, fruit, nuts, biscuits. Toaster to make your own toast, fresh croissant. Sausages, scrambled eggs, ham, cheeses, salads. Bed very comfy Bedding very soft Lighting good. Separate card for electric. Heating at a nice temperature, lovely and warm. Claimed to be the oldest hotel, 1935 in Sofia Good location restaurants, cafes, bars shops. Walk in shower. Tea, coffee, kettle in room , no milk though.

Toilet brush broken Magnifying mirror cracked. Bathroom waste bin rusty. Mini bar freezing soft drinks. Corridors not particularly clean. No hot water late evening or early hours.

The hotel is close to the centre (5 mins walk to the cathedral and 10 mins to the main shopping and eating areas). It is also close to the metro from the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable (we had a suite). The shower was very powerful. The breakfast had a reasonable selection of items and for the price, it was good value.

This didn’t bother us but the hotel is old, the furnishings in the room are dated and it wasn’t completely clean so if you are looking for luxury, this isn’t the place for you but if you want a good night’s sleep with breakfast at a reasonable price, it’s fine.

I like a Hot Pot Kettle to make Instant coffee and this hotel has this in every room I have occupied. The lower floor #1 is better for getting hot water to the shower a little faster. Keep in mind that the Hotel was built in 1935 so you are getting a piece of Sofia history too. Not as modern as others, but it's close to Metro stops and a few nice parks and a lot of the key sight seeing destinations.

One little glitch, the electric box that has it's own key for activating the room electicity worked initially in room 306, but late in the night I accidentally pulled the key and when I reinserted it, the room stayed dark. The night clerk gave me a new room and I quickly moved in. Luckilly I carry a small flashlight. The next day the maintenance staff said it was a fault in the box, a small connection came loose.

Absolutely phenomenal location. Everything in downtown Sofia is accessible on foot, and there are convenient transit stops very close by, including several metro stations, making getting around a breeze. The hotel is old and what some may call dated, but I find this to be a part of its character. The rooms are large, beds - comfortable, and everything was very clean. The front desk was always staffed, and I never needed to wander around looking for help. When I needed assistance with getting a cab late at night, staff helped me get one in mere minutes, which I really appreciate. While I needed nothing from the auxiliary services (mini bar, room service, wash/dry/iron), I noticed that the listed prices were more reasonable, too.

I think the hotel is just fine as-is, and have no recommendations. If someone is looking for a spiffy experience, it's obviously not the space for them. For those of us who want to stay at an iconic, old hotel in the city center, it's perfect.

The hotel is located in the center of Sofia, few minutes walk from all the attractions of the city. The rooms are old, but clean and have everything that you need. The staff are kind and helpful. The breakfast was really nice for its' price.

The hotel is very old and you can sense it everywhere you go - the lobby, the elevator and the rooms. It doesn't feel bad, but everything is old and needs renovation. The biggest problem at the hotel was for me the curtains. They absolutely don't hide the sunlight. So if you are sensitive to sunlight, when the sun is raising at about 5am at this season, you should be prepared.

It has all you need for a decent price and a great location. It is a 3 star hotel so set your expectations to that. It's clean and comfy and you can take a late check out, which can be handy. This was our second time here, and when in Sofia again, we wouldn't change it. The breakfast is decent but this time we decided to check out all the cute places near the hotel and eat there. We also had a great view.

The internet was working perfectly on one phone and only connected sporadically to the other. But there are other options. If you need internet for work, it would do if you can connect.
