The staff really make this place! The friendliest staff ever really made me feel so welcome and at home in Siem Reap, which as a solo traveller is always a lovely feeling. Several staff members greeted me by name every time I came and went from the hotel which is just unheard of in my experience!

The only downside (which in fairness they do warn you about when you check-in, and with an info sheet in the room) is that there's a school next door. During the day the noise was not a problem for me at all, but at 6.45 in the morning there seems to be a teacher doing some sort of call on a megaphone which I couldn't sleep through. They do say you can request a quiet room so if I'd have know in advance I probably would've done that.

The Golden Butterfly was located in a perfect spot, walking distance of most important things and restaurants, but also not right next to the hustle and bustle. The staff were probably the best staff I've experienced anywhere. They always tried to make our trip and stay better, and we almost always had a long conversation with them, making us feel like friends. The room was as good as you can get for the price too and accomodated all our needs. I would 100% recommend it.

Beware of lizards coming in if you open the balcony door, not that they'll harm you!

Very calm and peaceful evenings. Nice ambiance. Staff was extremely friendly, courteous and helpful. Bottled water was available 24/7. Close, couple minutes walk to the markets/nightlife but tucked away in a quiet side street. About 7km from Angkor Wat so easy enough with a bike or tuk-tuks. Easy scooter rental through the hotel as well. Great little restaurant (name: Angkor Hand- Pulled Noodles and Dumplings) about 50 meters from the entrance. 5 min walk to 7-Eleven. 5 min walk to Riverside/street food, old market, etc.

The room was great: clean, comfortable beds, daily cleaning if wanted, water, coffee/tea, nice balcony for coffee/hang clothes, fridge/kettle, working hot water, AC and fan, and great location off of main strips but very close (max 5 min) to main areas, pub street, river markets etc. BUT the highlight of my stay (which I kept extending) were the lovely, friendly, helpful team of staff. Always warm greetings and nice chats, make you feel comfy with welcome drink and greeting upon return from day trips. Can’t say enough great things about all these guys. Also arranged tuktuk for a sunrise tour of Angkor, and bicycle rental whenever needed. I love orange so the decor was fantastic for me. Day use of pool next door if pool required for your time in Siem Reap. Reasonably priced.

No complaints whatsoever

The staff really make an effort to welcome you before and during your stay. The manager reached out on WhatsApp to ask if there was anything we needed. He also offered their free pick up service for around the centre. When we arrived the staff greeted us and we got a welcome drink, banana chips and cold towel. They made an effort to ask both our names, show us a map around the area and give us recommendations of what to do, tours etc. We booked a king room with a balcony. The room was like the pictures large and clean.

Only small downside is the hotel has no lift but staff helped to carry our bags up. Also there is a primary school just next door but the staff addressed this at the start and said if it was too noisy to let them know. From the room it wasn’t too bad noise starts from around 7am.

Room was big and beautiful decor! The balcony was also big nice seating area there and could see mountains in the distance. Hotel is very central. Staff were more than accommodating and friendly!! One of the nicest staff I’ve ever experienced. Offered a nice welcome snack and drink upon arrival. Pun at reception was great he was wonderful to talk to and recommended things around the area! The other staff were great too! Such a wonderful stay. Would definitely recommend this hotel when staying in Siem Reap. Loved it! Such good value for the price !!!

No elevator but the staff assisted me with my bags as I was on the 4th floor so it wasn’t a huge problem.

Good location and the services. When we 1st arrive, we were welcome with cold towel and a drink/snack. They provide 2 bottles mineral water everyday upon request. The staff very friendly. The room also spacious enough to perform prayer and comfy bed. A good wifi coverage. Near old market and muslim community.

Maybe staircase. If bring big luggage or old people or disabled will be a bit troublesome. There is a primary school just opposite the hotel. So there will be noises from the children. None above mentioned are inconvenience for me since I travel light baggage and went out early morning. But I still need to address this matter so that future guests would know upfront.

The Golden Butterfly Villa has been wonderful! It’s very clean and comfortable. I love my room! I also love enjoying a coffee in the lobby every morning with the lush green plants and beautiful ambience. The staff has been so kind, welcoming, and helpful! Everyone has been great! Toy March, Navin, Sophun, and Mr. Chen have gone above and beyond to make me feel very comfortable during my stay. I’ve enjoyed it so much that I decided to stay longer.

Golden Butterfly Villa has to be the best hotel in Siem Reap. The managers and staff are so kind and helpful it was an absolute joy to stay here. Nothing is too much trouble and the team are able to answer any reservations or questions which may arise. It's perfect.

I liked the location* and the staff was really friendly and helpful and good part you could also buy drinks there for also a cheap price the same price like in some bars like $1 for a beer I stayed in one of the biggest rooms and with balcony, bed was really comfortable, the AC was powerful and the room was really clean. They offer cleaning 2 times a day. All amenities like restaurants, laundries are close by just around the corner.

*location was great but it had some drawbacks like the school at 7:00 in the morning they played over loudspeakers the national anthem, but the staff warms you're about that. And for hot water in the shower you need it to turn on the shower like 5 minutes before you wanted to take it. G the wardrobe could use some small compartments. They only had hanging racks
