Great environment and very comfortable, perfect room layout. The fireplace and balcony were great aspects! Reliable WiFi and attached restaurant were very convenient. It’s also only a few minutes walk from town Centre which helped us save on driving and allowed to use to experience the great weather. Front desk employees were very helpful and kind!

The room was pretty clean however I’m not sure what the towels were washed with but once they got wet they immediately started to smell very badly, we had to leave the bathroom door shut the entire time to block off the smell of the towels.. We also never had anyone check the room or knock on our door so we had to constantly go downstairs and ask for things we needed during our 6 day stay, more coffee, sugar, clean towels, etc.. we also had overflowing garbage and recycle bins in our room because no one came to empty them or check. We also never saw any room attendants to ask.

We had a fantastic day at Northwinds. The bed was extremely comfortable and would be one of the several reasons that I would go back. The view was beautiful from the balcony, and I'm sure in the summer it would be beautiful to sit out in the morning and have your coffee. It is important to note that parking is free, which isn't the case for some of the other hotels in the area. The fridge and microwave were also a huge bonus. The train passes by frequently, and so it is recommendable to bring earplugs to sleep at night. The doors to the hotel rooms are quite heavy, and they slam shockingly loud. But that being said, this is a budget hotel, and it's a steal of a deal for the area. I would definitely stay here again!

Great room. It had a balcony, which was nice. Beds were comfy and the fridge, microwave and coffee maker were in great working condition. Close access to the highway and legacy trail to get to Banff.

Daily cleaning was only provided on request, which was fine,but I thought they would at least come to empty the garbage. I had to do this myself twice. It was also very expensive and I probably could have stayed somewhere with full cleaning service for the same price.

We were traveling with a family of 8 and a dog and booked three rooms. We like the most the location: close to the center and amazing view of the mountains. The hotel has a restaurant and it was convenient to have breakfast there and dinner if you wish. We checked in online and received our pass code, so we went directly to our rooms on arrival and didn't spend time at the reception. The staff was friendly and helpful. We really like a dog friendly hotel room. I will recommend this hotel to our friends traveling with kids and dogs.

We weren't able to watch TV in one of our rooms because it was asking the password, and staff couldn't figure out the problem.

The room was much larger than it appeared in photos, the bed was SUPER comfortable. I don't have words to describe the view from the window, simply breathtaking (Room 210) I was beside the stairwell so I did hear certain guests thumping up the stairs but it was fine. The rocky Mountain Soap co. foaming soap was a really nice local touch and I did end up visiting the shop and making a purchase!

The comfy chairs facing the TV were very stained... all over. Other than that no faults at all!

We stayed at Northwinds Hotel for 2 nights. The room was spacious with a small backyard and view of the mountain. The hotel has self check-in and everything was done online. The staff was also available at site whenever we needed them. The front desk was very helpful in guiding us about the places to see and things to do with all the information brochures and maps available at the desk. The key highlight of this hotel is its restaurant - The Bankhead. This place serves one of the best breakfast in town. We dined twice at this place. Their pan cakes, waffles, french toast and aloo paratha were too good, these are must try from their menu. The also serve good karak chai, which was my favorite. Our host Zoe took really good care of us and my kids. If I ever go again, I will stay at this hotel just to dine at this restaurant again

The lighting in the room could have been better

Front desk staff was excellent! They helped me get into my room as early as possible! Even sent a text when the room was ready. As I was travelling alone, and waiting for family who were skiing, this was greatly appreciate! When in my room I realized there was not a remote for the TV. The front desk staff came immediately, confirmed there was no remote and within minutes were back with a working remote. Very quick service and extremely friendly staff! The room was also exceptionally clean!

I didn’t like the soap dispenser in the shower. The soap was awful, and actually caused a rash on my hands.

The location is excellent. Nice few of the mountains. People was kind and helpful. Just have a big problem with the booking and the money that I payed after the quotation that was given to me . It was a surprise when $250 went off my credit card after I payed extra fees for pets . I still waiting for my $150 deposit to return in to my account.

We spoke to a guy on Thursday the 8th ,He said his name was Louis and asked him to phone us back on Friday the 9th. He spoke to me in the morning and give me a quote for us with pets for $167.20 for the night . We had to pay $50 extra for the pets and paid $250 that went off on my credit card and $150 deposit For 1 night to sleep . I did not receive any thing back . That is unacceptable

Northwinds is a new brand of the former well-known Days Inn hotel in Canmore. It is conveniently located, close to the town centre but on a quiet street. Most of all we were impressed by the staff accommodating our request to transfer us from the King room on the second floor to a 2 Queen room on the ground floor. It saved the need for a member of our party, who has very bad knees, to climb steep stairs to the second floor. (The hotel has no elevator.) Thank you! For a pretty decent accommodation, the cost of the stay was much less than the price of other comparable hotels in Canmore, to say nothing of Banff or Lake Louise. The Internet is good. The parking is limited but free. We did not have a problem with it. We did not try the breakfast but we ate lunch in the attached Bankheads restaurant. It was good.

Days Inn was a very basic accommodation and the new brand of it is no different. The carpets (black-grey-white) look dirty even when they are clean. The stairs are a killer not only for people with bad knees. We did not find a comprehensive guest services directory. We believe there were no amenities such as a swimming pool or a gym. Banff Upper Hot Springs are nice but they are overcrowded, underserviced, and a long drive away.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. The view from the room wasn't great but the bathroom was spacious and clean. Whenever we needed extra things (towels, coffee, etc.) the staff was more than willing to help. The hotel was a bit outside of the city but it was super easy to park.

I think the room setup can improve a bit by having two chairs that are the same and a small table. There was only a desk with a desk chair and a lounge chair. Another point is that there are signs with quiet time but the 24/7 frontdesk didn't enforce this when people were shouting or running through the hallway outside of those hours..
