Rooms were clean and quiet. The big winners were the pool/arcade and the staff! It doesn't hurt that there are two really good restaurants open later in the night attached to the hotel. (Both kid friendly!) In addition, it's just a short walk to restaurants, shopping, and a large park by the river. Absolutely great place to stay in Kamloops!

We did have a little bit of a noisy fridge, but that didn't bother us much. Not even enough to ask the front desk about. (They probably would have immediately helped us if it was an issue!)

The room was a good size and very comfortable. We had a room facing the back of the building and overlooked the car park. We had all the regular facilities, tea/coffee, TV, hairdryer and the bathroom was well stocked. The staff were very busy when we arrived but they were friendly and helpful. They suggested the bar next door for dinner, The Noble Pig, which was great. All the staff we met were very friendly. It was great value for money.

We love the family suite that we were fortunate to get a booking for. The location is great downtown and very close to restaurants and shops. Very clean, very comfortable beds, powerful AC, check in was professional and polite. Love that there was a microwave and small refrigerator in the suite. Communication with the hotel was excellent as they replied very quickly. It’s my new favourite hotel to stay in with my family of 5.

The conditioner was empty😭. There was a power shortage at 1.15am and it didn’t get fixed till 5am. The room got too hot for me. Walking in darkness in the hotel corridor to get to reception to inquire at 3am was quite scary with my iPhone light. Maybe equip an emergency torchlight in each room like some of the other hotels have incase this happens again.

Thompson Motel is in a great location with plenty of shops, resturants and bars nearby. Rooms were large, clean with comfy beds. Staff welcoming and helpful. Onsite undercover parking. Enjoyed the sunny outdoor area near the pool for drinks and nibbles. The adjacent Embers Brewery was our favourite for dinner with good food, craft beer and friendly waitresses. Nearby Frick and Flack was great bar to visit too.

The bed was comfortable and the room spacious. The towels were fluffy and no shortage of hot water. We liked the downtown location, easy walking to shops and lots of restaurants.

Google maps directions were sketchy and the hotel is not signed at all on the parking lot side of the building. We drove around the area a few times trying to find the front entrance which was blocked by a large vehicle. The bathroom had very obvious peeling wall paper and the tap in the shower/tub had a small steady stream of water even when turned off.

Love this hotel! This is my favourite hotel in the city. Great amenities and location. Family room is spacious and comfortable. Staff are helpful and kind. My kid loves the game room and pool. Stay a couple times a year just for the staycation experience. Big thank you to Lucas and the rest of staff that go out of their way to make sure you have a good experience.

Need Netflix to work in the rooms. It wouldn't connect or play.

Lovely hotel. Not sure why they have any bad reviews. Staff very friendly and helpful - we had a problem with our initial room, but this was quickly sorted out by the very kind lady on reception. We only stayed for one night as a stop off on the way to Banff, but it was perfect. Lots of nice cafes near by within walking distance. Our room looked out over the train line - but the windows did a good job of blocking out the noise. Would recommend.

Our stay was incredible showed up early. They allowed us to check in right away. Staff was incredibly friendly for the two nights we were there. Rooms are clean. Beds were comfortable AC and heat Mountain View warm swimming pool real nice Jacuzzi handicap parking and my car was safe. I highly recommend staying in this hotel if you’re in the downtown Kamloops area.

Great value as we were on our way from Vancouver to Jasper. We were upgraded to a suite... huge for just 2 of us.. two rooms, 3 beds, a microwave and 2 refrigerators. Location in downtown Kamloops was perfect to walk to restaurants. Unfortunately the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed but there were lots of other options within a few blocks. Windows open to allow fresh air which I really like.

Outside of building and lobby are not impressive but the room was great.

The staff at this hotel are its biggest asset in particular Meena on the front desk. Nothing was too much trouble from assisting with change for the laundry, information on where to eat, printing luggage tags and boarding passes and other information. Breakfast was good value and again service with a smile. Bed comfortable and lovely pool.
