My boyfriend & I stayed here the last 2 nights of our 3 week adventure throughout Colombia over winter break. We genuinely could not recommend staying at Hotel Villa Colonial By Akel Hotels more! This hotel was in the perfect location (located on the outskirts of Getsemani) - which meant the streets by the hotel were QUIET! Which was exactly what we were looking for at the end of our exhausting trip. The check-in process went smoothly, the staff was nice & friendly, the FREE breakfast was delicious (toast w/jam, eggs w/ham & cheese, coffee, and fresh squeezed juice) & overly exceeded our expectations. This was the 2nd accommodation we stayed at that actually had HOT WATER - which was also a very pleasant surprise! The beds & pillows were comfy & we felt very safe during our stay here. Highly recommend taking a chance staying at this hotel - you won't regret it! Please Note: every worker speaks little to no English. Just a friendly FYI if you're an English speaker only.

Nothing! We absolutely loved staying here. This hotel is in our top 3 stays out of all the places we stayed at in Colombia during our 3 weeks. We didn't have 1 single issue during our 2-night stay. I highly recommend booking your stay here!

We really loved this quaint boutique hotel because of its super location close to restaurants, bars, shops, clubs and only a short couple of blocks to the Old City Center. The staff was absolutely wonderful to us, especially Maria Jose - and Martha at the front desk, and our included "cooked to order" fresh breakfast of eggs, nice selection of fruits and delicious juices served on the roof-top terrace, was the perfect start to each day. It would be difficult to find a nicer place to stay at this very affordable price. We highly recommend Hotel Villa Colonial and it's excellent staff!!!

There was nothing we didn't like about this boutique hotel.

The staff was amazing, the price was great and the location is perfect. It’s one street away from the main street of Getsemani where everything happens but somehow stays quiet if you don’t want to participate. The room was clean, great AC, we had daily breakfast between 7-9 and the facility is very secure. Random people can’t just come in. It’s also about8-9 mins away from the wall so all activities start there. There is no pool but ask reception and you may have access to one in the area. All in all, we had a great week there and I definitely recommend it.

Wonderful colonial hotel on a quiet street. Delicious rooftop breakfast with great service and smiles. comfortablw with great air conditioning. Best of all were the family owners. Marta and family welcomed us with open arms, and went above and beyond our expectations to help us have a fabulous stay. We miss them and will be back. Highly recommend!

A charming colonial building in a fabulous location.. On the edge of Getsemani but away from the noise.. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooftop terrace and the breakfast were good. My bed was comfy and the room was clean.

The shower was cold and barely a dribble, certainly not enough to wash my hair. My room was on the beautiful but echoing main staircase so if you want extra quiet ask for a side room.

Quiet hotel, outside the busy streets. Basic room, could be cleaner as we found some black hairs and stains on the bedding. Shower was hot in the evening but hardly warm in the morning. Close the bathroom door at night as we had mosquitos coming in from the bathroom. Staff was very friendly and we could leave our luggage for a few hours as we went into the city. Breakfast was nice in the rooftop.

Beautiful colonial house, far from the noise but close to anything important. Really delicious breakfast with fresh mango juice a great view because it is served on rooftop. Also staff is very helpful and nice. If I go back I will stay definitely only in this hotel again.

Ms Martha and her staff were absolutely fantastic, friendly and helpful at all times. The location is very good, in Getsemaní on a quiet street but very close to the main restaruant and bar area. Being on a quieter street made sleeping easier. There is good AC and fan in the room so again it was comfortable to sleep. Everything was spotlessly clean and towels changed every day.

Marta, Gustavo, Alberto and all the staff were professional, friendly, cooperative, and efficient...the room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was excellent, and the Getsemani location was perfect for access to restaurants, supermarkets, and retail stores...we highly recommend Villa Colonial as the best value for money and service...

Not a thing

I really liked this hotel. The staff were very helpful. My room was lovely, the air conditioning was perfect and the shower was great. It had a safe, and a nice terrace. Also only a few minutes walk from the main streets. Would recommend!
