I chose Los Patios because they offer a women-only room that was perfect for me as a solo traveler. The staff are exceptionally attentive—I even suffered food poisoning from eating fish on the beach, and they help arrange medical assistance and provide some natural juice and arrocito. I truly felt at home. The hostel has a fantastic vibe, with plenty of activities available, including really fun dance classes.

I was disappointed that a guest in the room did not respect the sleep of others. Around 1 or 2 a.m., she started getting ready for a night out, turning on the lights and making noise, even though three of us were already asleep. This is difficult for any hostel to control; I guess it’s just luck to share the room with respectful people.

Great hostel with a wide variety of activities for travellers, ranging from yoga to pub crawls to walking tours. The atmosphere is always very welcoming - when you arrive they give you local fruit, free drinks and plenty of advice (big thanks to Karen for all that!). The breakfast was included for us and it was super delicious. We got a private room and everything was perfect, clean, with any facilities that we could have asked for (TV, iron, etc). The WiFi worked very well and there are many beautiful areas, including a rooftop bar, where you can work from on your laptop. The location is perfect, super central. Totally recommend it!

Our only complaint was the water in the shower was quite cold and for all three days that we stayed there, we didn't have the chance to have any hot water.

The staff are amazing so helpful, the activities are really good, free Yoga, fruit tasting, Salsa classes and more. Clean hostel providing your bunk mates respect they are sharing space with others. Nice coffee shop I could have a almond milk cappuccino in. Close to everything and in a slightly cheaper part of town for local restaurants.

These aren't dislikes, just fact and nice to have: Cartagena is just more expensive than the rest of Colombia, you just have to expect that. I'd like tonsee mosquito nets for the rooms like the place I am.now in in Minca. I was bitten badly here unfortunately through clothing... ouch...

Comfortable beds with curtains. Just a 10 minute walk to the center of old town. Staff of the Hostel is very nice!

The sink is in the dorm room, as well as the shower, which is not perfect since people might already or still sleep and you cant really use the facilities without waking everyone up, so a door to the bathroom wouldve been nice. There is a cafe where you can get breakfast but the owner was super rude and unfriendly. After waiting for over 40minutes I still hadnt received my coffee… there are plenty of other options (with a much nicer variety in breakfast options!) but they are a 10 minute walk away so grabbing a quick breakfast was definitely not possible…

An overall solid hostel in a great location, comfortable rooms with AC, brilliant showers. The kitchen is well equipped, nice jacuzzi and rooftop bar area. The staff were very helpful with any question, the area is one of the safer places in Cartagena, but always best to be cautious when walking around. The Exito supermarket is around a 10 minute walk. They have daily events which bring people together, although their walking tour requires more information, assumed it was from reception but we had to meet in another location, so I missed out.

There is a hostel/hotel next door which seemingly felt compelled to play louder music on their rooftop, although, this was inconsistent throughout my stay.

I've stayed in a few different hostels in Latin America, and Los Patios is definitely one of the best, if not the best, that I've stayed in. The location is near multiple fantastic places in Getsemani (practically opposite Cafe Havana) and the team are wonderful. At times in the shared rooms, you can hear conversations happening in the rooms neighbouring yours. This wasn't a dealbreaker for me, and it's just part of being in hostels in my mind, but feels worth mentioning.

- Staff: very professional and easygoing - Location: Can't hardly get better. Right next to Getsemani hot spots, and 5 - 10 min walk from the port, el centro entrance gate and the commercial zone from the area - Activities: lots of organised activities (boat parties, nightclubs/bars hopping, islands trips, etc.) - Rooftop area

- No real window on the outside for the single bedrooms. You have windows but with a view inside the building. Not a major issue as you barely spend time in your room in Cartagena - The Breakfast was good, but it could have been more varied (i.e. a buffet would be nice). In any case, there's plenty of food options in the area

Good location, beautiful old style building. It's like the provincial sister of the Los Patios in Medellin, with more or less the same vibe, level of comfort and setup but with slightly more basic facilities. The rooftop jacuzzi/pool was amazing!

Avoid the dorm room "Bocagrande" if you can! It's next to a shared toilet whose position essentially feels like it's inside the dorm due to large ceiling gaps, letting you hear EVERYTHING - even unzipping... It's also next to the hostel's rooftop bar and communal area, so in constant usage until late at night. This room shouldn't be offered to guests.

The staff is amaaziiiingggg, extremely friendly, they are like family. The location is getsemani is great, walking distance to everything. I came for one night i end up staying for 4 nights and i wish i could stay more. There is a beautiful rooftop, free yoga and salsa classes. The people there are really nice, all ages. Very quiet you can perfectly work during the day cause people are respectful. I totally recommend it and i will definitely come back. Biiiig thank you and big hug los patios team 🫶🏻🫶🏻😘

Nothing Just would be great if they add some shower gel inside the shower.

The walking tour with Alyce was the best part of Cartegena! She’s so energetic and passionate about her city and her people. Our private room was really big and super clean! The bed was so comfortable and the room got really dark at night so I had the best sleeps I have had my whole South America trip. Great location in a vibrant part of Getsemani.

Probably more a complaint about fellow travellers not doing the right thing than the hostel itself, but the plates, utensils etc in the communal kitchen weren’t very clean. Had to wash dishes before we were able to cook each morning.
