Amazing location and view of the volcano from our balcony and room. The giant outdoor tub with jets was nice in lieu of a hottub at the pool and loved by the kids. There was plenty of space in the room for the 5 of us with 2 large beds and the mini kitchenette. Short walk to breakfast and the pool. Nice umbrellas provided. The included breakfast was wonderful with the egg/omelet bar daily. We loved the family (20+) coati that lived on the grounds and made many appearances. We also saw a wild boar, toucans and other birds, lizards on the premise. The trails with bridges (accessible from the hotel, not the separate Hanging Bridges) was wonderful to explore and walk to from our hotel room. Swim up pool bar with smoothies was fun for the kids too! Large porch balcony with rocking chairs was very relaxing.

nothing. Maybe add a hammock on the balconies?

It’s beautiful, even more beautiful that the pictures, also all 3 nights we were there it was showering and we could not see the volcano at all. The room is well equipped.

The restaurant was disappointing, especially during lunch, as it was clearly understaffed. Food arrived late, and when I ordered mac and cheese for our child, it was particularly frustrating. After such a long wait, they served a microwaved, pre-cooked dish. It was extremely hot so we had to blow it for another 10 min so be eatable for a child, and the cheese separating and dripping with oil due to overheating. The hotel’s trail was under reconstruction, which was unfortunate as we couldn’t use it. Additionally, the prices for food and massages were noticeably high.

The property was stunning! The resort was situated in the middle of a jungle. It was a beautiful atmosphere. We felt like we were on the show White Lotus! There was a regular pool and a heated pool with a swim up bar where you could order drinks and appetizers. That’s where we spent our evenings. The restaurant was fantastic and had a nice evening atmosphere. They had golf carts to drive you where you needed to go in the resort. We used it to get to our room, which was up the hill. The room itself was your basic room with two beds, a bathroom, and a patio that faced the volcano. Unfortunately, it was too cloudy for us to ever see the volcano. I highly recommend this resort and would absolutely stay there again.

The breakfast buffet was kind of lacking.

Lovely location with beautiful views o Arenal Volcano. Breakfast buffet had good variety of options, excellent omelette station. Relaxing pool area after a steamy morning of wildlife searching. Two lovely leather, locally made rocking chairs on the balcony.

The hotel does feel somewhat dated, much concrete construction, including light stands. Would appreciate a mattress on the pool loungers, they were also not cleared of water and leaves in the gaps. The room layout is poor and does not flow. Whilst the wooden decorative furniture and ornaments are pleasing to the eye, it's central position means the chair to the left has no lighting and to the right the TV obscures the lovely jungle picture. Some wall mounted furniture is askew and one more bed side table would be appreciated.

The property was so unreal! We loved this. Waking up to the volcano view in the morning was honestly breathtaking. The pools, one being warm and one being cool was such a good touch! Also as the property is pretty much on a hill, the idea they have of having a buggy service to you can call to take you to and from your hotel room was perfect as the hills are rather steep!

The price of the dinner menu, was super expensive but the food was fab but we just weren’t expecting that price. Because you’re 15/20 mins away from town it’s like is it worth paying for a taxi to go into town or is it worth paying for the hotel dinner food?

Fantastic views of the volcano and comfy beds and loved the rocking chairs on the balcony which overlooked the gardens that were teaming with hummingbirds. The pools were lovely and the bar a real social hub after 4pm each day. You'll need a car unless you're going to only go out on hotel organised trips - this shouldn't detract from booking this amazing hotel!! It's 5 mins drive from Mistico Bridges (just to give you an idea of how far out of La Fortuna it is). Paved winding roads from the airport - take a car as very easily drivable. Loved it and would stay again.

There really isn't a great option for vegetarians in the restaurant, other than at breakfast. We struggled in the evenings and chose to eat out (we had a hire car) and have a late lunch rather than evening meal at the hotel.

The staff were amazing. The locals here are so kind it’s a very safe country. They have so many activities nearby with provided transport. The activities may be a little expensive but transport and sometimes a snack is always given. It’s a nonsmoking facility but they do have spots where you can smoke if needed. Each activity has a guide that will help you with everything. They are very professional, punctual and organized

Everything was amazing sometimes the heated pool was a little cold but no complaints!!!!!

- First and foremost, the staff were a breath of fresh air and very friendly faces each and every day :) We had great waiters for breakfast and dinner, mostly a a few shout outs to Derek and Ronaldo! Great guys and really funny, as well as being professional too. - The pool area was a nice spot to spend a day to chill out and enjoy some sunshine. We made sure to make the most of the daily happy hours from 4-5pm and the cocktails were tasty. Having a cool pool, plus a warm pool, was a good change-up as well. - Best view of the Arenal volcano we had from our room! This includes actually doing the 1968 trail where we walked around it. Be aware, one day it’s a clear, wonderful view and the next day, you’ll wake up to complete cloud cover and it’s vanished haha. - We spotted a Coati on our patio upon our arrival which was a very dry warm welcome from a local. Throughout the days we also watched a handful of Hummingbirds hovering around. We loved being back in the rainforest after a few days in mountains.

- It’s what we wanted, being a little away from La Fortuna and the hustle and bustle. It was only a 10min drive to the 1968 trail of the volcano and to visit the main hot springs locations. Lastly, a local soda place was great to eat which we visited twice. - Unfortunately, the property’s main walking trail was closed due to maintenance and extra works on building bridges when we were there. On one rainy day we had where we stayed on-site, this would’ve been nice to stroll through to see flora and fauna.

Lost Iguana is in an incredible location in the jungle and overlooking Mount Arenal. You can hear the wildlife all around you and it has many walks within the grounds (Mistico Park is just next door where they charge $25 for entry). Staff are super friendly, pool was great and also breakfast was pretty good too.

As some of the other reviews commented it is a bit of a drive to La Fortuna, I had planned to go there one night but in the end stayed in the resort each night which got a little tiring on the third and last night (however the overall location is incredible).

Absolutely beautiful spot in the rainforest close enough to the tourist activities, but distant enough for a complete disconnect. The view of the Arenal Volcano from our room was stunning. Facilities made of exquisite woodwork. Lots to see. Great pool area. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The automated client survey sent to my email was seriously irritating. I received over 100 emails from the autobot in 3 days. Reception staff were eventually able to stop it.
