Hotel Operetta is an annex and "apartment hotel" of Hotel Opera that is located nearby and across the square of the Church of St. Lazarus. The location is fantastic and cannot be beat - it is in the heart of the old town of Larnaka and a short walk to the church, markets, the beach, and the Christmas celebrations. Several parking lots are located in short proximity and cost either two or three Euros per day. We stayed at the lot on Mehmet Ali street and it was very convenient to the hotel. As far as the Hotel room, it is basically an apartment overlooking Lazarus Church and had a small, but functional kitchen for those who are planning longer stays or want to save money by preparing their own food. The bed in our room was enormous and much appreciated, as often the beds in Cyprus are really narrow. The staff for the Hotel Operetta sit in the reception across the plaza and were friendly and helpful when we asked for assistance. They even supplied us with a Type G adaptor that saved us on our first night in the country until I found some for sale.

If you are looking for a hotel with 24 hour reception, a spa, or room service, then the Hotel Operetta is not for you. My only "complaint" from our stay was that the room was not well lit and could definitely use a bed lamp. In the end, I read my book using a head lamp that I take with me when traveling. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time and would stay there again.

The location was sensational, complemented by the balcony which overlooks the square. The room was large, lots of space to potter with excellent lighting. The staff were ok, but do ask questions a lot. However, I would certainly recommend.

The parking situation is to be desired. It’s wishing a gated compound which is ok, however the locals have no consideration for this and park across the entrance. This means you have to wait until they return to their cars or just beep your car horn loud enough that someone comes along. Or in fact find somewhere else to park at an extra cost.

We notified the venue that we would be arriving early, primarily to enquire whether there would be anywhere to leave bags, and reception was really quick to reply. When we got to the hotel they were extremely accommodating and immediately checked with housekeeping to see if our room was already available.

Some of the lighting in the foyer area and lower stairwell was not working, although I'm sure this was a temporary issue. There was a particularly musty smell in the first floor corridor, possibly due to a water leak at some point, this didn't affect the room at all.

everything was nice, especially the view. it was right in the center, so everything was close, even the bus station

the shower head was falling from the hoose and it was leaking. the door of the shower got stuck and it could not be oppened or closed. the curtain was full of dust flakes and it got stuck on me after puting lotion

We are a family 2 adults with 2 kids chose this hotel for connection before the next flight, quickly got there in the evening by taxi and in the morning by bus, which stops right next to the hotel. The hotel is centrally located, next to a nice square where you can eat and listen to live music. Very nice people at the reception desk, and we were satisfied.

The room was nice with a big balcony facing The Church of Saint Lazarus. It was clean when we got there and they clean it every day. The location was very nice for shopping, go to the beach, cafés/bakery (the best one was Stoartos right across the square) and restaurants (our favourite was Souvlaki.gr, just 1 min walking).

Unfortunately the cars drive in the old town Larnaca which makes the all area noisy. It´s quiet during the night but it´s not so nice to be in the balcony during the day because of the cars passing.

Perfectly located apartment with a balcony with beautiful view. Close to main bus stop, shops, restaurants and only 15 min bus journey from Larnaca airport. We have been offered daily room cleaning which was nice and to a high standard. The biggest advantage of this listing is extremely nice staff. The lady at the reception was very welcoming, offered help and assistance throughout the stay. Thank you again

Awesome location in the historical part of the city, direct view to the church and plazza with tavernas and souvenirs shops. Near to the beach

The kitchen area was very tiny and the utilities not in a perfect condition. Parking for the car is at the opposite side of the plazza at the Hotel Opera, which you can get to only through the complicated round of one-way tiny streets, and the key from the gate you need to pick up at the reception everytime.
