I enjoyed having fruit and yogurt for breakfast. I liked the comfortable chairs, tables and large windows of the breakfast area. I liked having the coffee and tea station all day and night

Being a diabetic, I would like to have low glycemic vegetables like lettuce, celery and cucumbers for breakfast. I think that instead of so many carbohydrates, there should be very simple things like boiled eggs ( preferably organic and pasture raised). Fresh homemade bread, fresh grass fed butter, homemade jam. I like simple fruits like apples and oranges. No need for so much variety of muffins pancakes cereals. In Poland there were machines that made espresso coffee and lattes. It would be nice to have those machines for delicious breakfast coffees

Check-in was quick and smooth. Our room was very clean, and the bed, pillows, and sheets were all comfortable and fresh. The space of the room gives you a feeling of being huge because of the high ceilling. The washroom was spotless and beautifully maintained. We were traveling with our dog and appreciated being placed on the main floor—it was perfect! We were able to park just steps from our room, making it super convenient. We also had easy access to the amenities like the gym, pool, and dining area, which were all on the same floor. The breakfast was excellent! We stayed for two nights and loved that the breakfast options were different each morning—it was a great touch.

The only slight downside of being on the main floor was that I could occasionally hear the sound of vehicles from the nearby highway. It wasn't too disruptive, though a few cars did sound like they were drag racing.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were attentive and welcoming. The quality of the breakfast exceeded our expectations—everything was fresh and well presented. The pool was also clean and well maintained, with fair and convenient access hours.

The air conditioner was extremely noisy, which made it hard to sleep. The TV didn’t have access to Netflix or YouTube, and with a young child, this was quite disappointing—only one local channel was working. Access to the hotel was also very confusing. Both Google Maps and Waze showed the hotel as being directly on the highway, which wasn’t accurate. We had to circle around several times before realizing that the correct entrance was actually off the highway exit before the one indicated by the apps.

Size and brightness of room. Cleanliness and space to put things and the little coffee nook. Convenience to access the room from parking.

No wine glasses or tea kettle available for guests to use. It's a small touch that makes a big difference. Front desk staff were not very friendly or knowledgable or helpful. Only one gentleman offered to make hot water for me which showed he was trying to help but overall, it felt as though the guest service agents didn't really care. The cleanliness and spaciousness of the room would have me coming back though. I'll bring my own kettle next time :0

Breakfast was good, rooms were clean.

We had some trouble with navigating to the hotel (using GPS). There are more than one "Holiday Inn Express" in Edmonton and unless you type the entire name "Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites-Edmonton South by IHG" (which is a very long name to type on phone) it takes you to the wrong hotel. We also had some trouble with Waze app...it kept taking us to wrong location. Google maps worked better but again typing the entire name in the app was irritating. I wish there was a shorter name that you could google and find.

Great location! Close to IKEA and South Common and only 10 minutes from the West Ed Mall. Super comfy bed and clean room

The only complaint I have and is why I didn’t give this a 10 is the hot tub was cold… we love to enjoy the pool and hot tub wherever we stay so we were disappointed with the temperature of it. The housekeeping staff that came into the pool area with towels didn’t understand us when we asked if it could be warmer.

IHG hotels usually offers the best value and experience for guests stay. Holiday Inn which we stayed was one of the awesome accommodation. Not only the cleanliness and good ambiance but most important for me was the staff/employees are trained and pleasant to guests. Never failed. Special mention to those breakfast area ladies. For me, it’s always a great morning if staffs greeted me a genuine good morning with a smile… This facility never failed in giving guests a warm stay. Aside from that, I love the Dove partnership for toiletries and shower items. Fur/pet friendly topped it all :)

Just a suggestion, we stayed in a 2 rooms (114/116) ground floor coz we have a mini schnauzer which were specific and selected rooms only for travellers with pet. It would be nice to have a shower towel hooks/rack inside the bathroom/s, and I suggest bathroom doors show open inward (push) not pull because main entrance door is pushed in, to avoid colliding doors when bathroom door is open and someone comes in from main door. Lastly, would be better to install exhaust fan on those rooms.

The room was bright and clean. Since we have a pet, we were given a very convenient room on the main floor, which was a quiet place. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was sparkling. We loved the breakfast; it was fresh and offered an excellent variety.

The reception had difficulty locating our reservation on booking.com. There was not much cart available when we arrived to put our belongings in to take them to our room.

Upon entering, front desk staff was very friendly and lobby was clean and welcoming! We arrived early, and they accommodated us quickly and without us feeling like it was a bother! Breakfast was busy, but had great selection; Self-make pancake machine, toast, muffins, yogurt, bananas, omelets, scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, breakfast sausage and turkey sausage, hot oatmeal, muffins and cinnamon rolls. Staff was very friendly, and kept up as hot food was emptied by guests.

The pool was closed and partially emptied for cleaning, which would have been nice to have know, when I booked our stay. I should mention that I booked our stay that morning. Our child loves swimming, and we would have most likely booked somewhere else-as that was 1 of 3 of our preferences (breakfast, pool, pet friendly). When the pool did reopen, the water was way too cold for her to swim in.

The hotel is well placed with quick access to. Has ample space for parking. Nearby Dosa Guru is a very good south Indian restaurant. Hotel has a nice indoor pool. Rooms are big and clean with a microwave. Bathrooms are big too. Its a good value for money.

I found the lift a bit slow. Second one was out of order and third one is new. Which is good.
