Everything was elegant and top quality, so much attention to detail that made our stay feel so luxurious. We had a suite with garden access, with a large veranda area. The whole suite was very spacious and very comfortable. Service and support was top notch! Breakfast views from the Avista restaurant are stunning. The food was excellent, and we would highly recommend having lunch and dinner there if time allows. We had access to the facilities of the Cliff Bay hotel next door, wish we had more time to make full use of everything on offer!

Leaving the property ...

This is an excellent hotel. Quiet and private. The staff were amazing, where literally everyone was friendly, welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. They each went out of their way to make it a memorable stay. The view from the suite, infinity pool and dining areas is absolutely incredible (and worth the higher price tag). To top it off, the daily all-inclusive breakfast and dining experience at Avista restaurant was fantastic. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Nothing, they were complete professionals.

Excellent location next door to Reid's. Walkable into town or the other way along a seafront path to the next village. Lovely breakfast outdoors, either cooked to order or a buffet. Infinity pool with loungers and bar never busy. Vista restaurant good but pricey. Best to walk out left to find plenty of other choices or use the lovely bar at the linked Cliff Bay Hotel which does all day food.

No English TV at all. This is pretty poor. I eventually hooked my Samsung phone up to the Samsung TV to watch Prime Video as luckily that can be watched abroad. No such luck with any UK streaming such as iPlayer which won't work.

The location is just stunning. The Maisonette Suites have everything you look for. Shower & toilet on both floors, 2 nice terraces. The infinity pool has always lots of free sunbeds & is so beautiful. The staff is very helpful and natural. They have fun working and it leads to great interactions. The Avista Restaurant is just spectacular. The food (breakfasts & dinners) mindblowing. The views on the Atlantic above the cliff - no words. We will be back! 100%. Thank you for a great week.

We also ate at the Gallo d‘Oro. Nice experience & presentation of the food but our tastebuds were not so impressed. We also went to „Ristorante Basilico“ one night - the only lowlight of the week. Good service but average food. I do not believe that they should collaborate with the Cliff Bay Hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for part of our honeymoon and loved our experience. The property was beautiful, the views spectacular, staff helpful and kind, room spacious and clean, and food fresh and delicious. We loved being able to hear the waves against the cliffs and the birds chirping. It's also helpful to note that you can benefit from using the amenities at the sister property next door as well.

Excellent experience. The quality and comfort of the room really exceeded our (high) expectations. Modern and up to date, yet with a very nice touch. Outstanding open views. Excellent restaurants. We very much enjoyed the infinity pool and played some tennis on a well maintained court. Drinks outside with amazing views, close to the cliffs.

We loved everything about the property. Our suit was spacious, clean, gorgeous views. As there are not too many suites it felt very private. We spent hours at the infinity pool and jacuzzi. It was a perfect after hike stay.

This place is expensive but fabulus. The location is fantastic. This was our first trip to Madeira but will not be the last.

Easyjet broke our case by snapping the telescopic handle. They were also late for our return, but the Suites are very very good. When we go again, will use a diferent airline.

Wonderful and calm place. Highly recommended.

Hard to fault. Total luxury and class but still understated.

The 2* restaurant was very good but not great. The room was fairly plain and at the price it should have felt more special.
