Don’t let first impressions deceive you; nestled between the older-ish building and the desolate location is one of Portland’s best kept secrets : A decent, clean and quiet motel that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg like all the other motels in town that for some reason has roach motels that cost the same price as corporate franchises you’ve come to expect a certain level of quality vs value. The Broadway Inn is significantly less per night than any of its counterparts in the area such as Eastside Lodge (boo 👎!) and the so unfittingly named “Executive Lodge” which is a roach motel that considers putting the comforter back into the bed with same sheets and most everything else as a proper maid cleaning. The Broadway Inn is family owned - and such a kind and friendly staff that are no more than simply practical and not taking advantage of weary travelers that may not know better. ***BONUS: a 4 minute walk to catch the latest Taylor Swift concert or if you are into big foam pointy fingers it also is a walk across the street to attend a Blazers NBA game at the MODA Center so you automatically save on parking because you’re a guest at the motel and don’t have to pay ball-game parking prices !

I would have liked to see more vending machine options; but a drink machine is ample since a 24 hour 7-eleven is a 7 minute walk from the Broadway Inn.

The room serviced it's purpose, close to Veterans Memorial Coliseum for the Winterhawks game (whole purpose of visiting Portland). Bed was actually pretty comfy as well. Noise was decent, but nothing the hotel could do about it (Light rail stop across the street). Room was a nice size for the price, I wasn't expecting that. The clerk on duty the next day (might have been the manager) was super nice & was very helpful. Thank you to whoever you were. You made up for the Friday night person....(see below).

The night clerk on duty when we arrived was a bit rude when I checked in. There were some fees I didn't see or recall when I booked & instead of trying to be reasonable about my concerns she just kept going on with the check in. I had paid already, so I wasn't sure if she was just tacking on those or charging me again. The rumble of the Light rail was a bit, but after awhile I got use to it. Building must be old as every time I walked across the floor there was creaking.

There was no breakfast served but I think it was listed online as having breakfast. It's older but it's in a prime location and my son and I had Trailblazer tickets and literally walked across the street to the Moda Center. Our adventure was perfect and we enjoyed not overpaying for what we got. It was safe and we felt right at home for the night.

It met every expectation I had for the older, yet inexpensive, hotel in the most perfect of locations. Well run, lots of security camera's and no troubles at all. Smelled a little, but the bed was comfy and the linens were nice and new. Great pillows and our own parking lot.

Please see my previous review. This motel has become my go-to when I have to drop into Portland whether for business or to catch a Blazers game.

Book in advance if it is NBA season. The MODA Center - home of the Portland Trailblazers - is literally a walk across the street.

The facility was great, wasn't what I thought it would be based on the area, it was way better. :) thank you and we look forward to staying again. :)

honestly it was great just the way it was.

Staff was very kind and friendly. Great location and great price. You can tell the hotel is older but my room was very clean and neat.

Wasn't aware is was an extra $10 for parking, didn't know about that until I checked in. But the value was still good overall.

Clean, comfortable room! Staff was friendly and helpful, and informed me of places to find food nearby when asked.

The shower faucet was broken, the water could turn on but it was impossible to change the temperature. The vending machine outside charged my friend $7 for a soda that was marked $2.50, and staff was unwilling to fix the problem.

The staff was so helpful when I had and issue and was unable to stay they were understanding and did everything they could to accommodate me.

We came here after fleeing the traffic/congestion horror of one of Portland's "Guesthouses". The Rodeway Inn was a godsend. Location on the edge of downtown was perfect, withing walking distance of the Moda Center and many other downtown attractions. Staff (Indian) were incredibly kind and friendly; when our TV malfunctioned and they couldn't fix it till the next day, they let us use the TV in an adjacent (unoccupied) room. That was really above and beyond. They really made us feel welcome, in contrast to the pretentious Guesthouse we had abandoned across town. Fantastic bathroom and shower, really bright.

it is super close to the Moda Center, you can walk there!

You had to pay for parking, which is weird to me since I had a room there and still had to pay for parking. Also the front desk lady was rude and tried to make me pay twice when I left for dinner.
