Central location and ornate hotel with views of the lake. Friendly and helpful staff

Stayed one night so it is quite likely that a less than desirableroom was allocated to us. There was a very loud hvac, cooling system noise from 6am till 9pm in room 901, advise anyone who wants a good night sleep to avoid this room.

Fabulous location on the lake in Hanoi, the staff also make this hotel a standout. It is minutes away from the Cathederal, The Water Puppet theatre, and the night market. At the weekend the road around the lake is pedestrian-ised so you can stroll out and enjoy the evening activities. Everyone at the hotelwas very helpful and there was great attention to detail. Housekeeping staff were lovely and very accommodating when I was unwell and worked around my need for sleep!! The artwork in the hotel is beautiful and complements the fittings and furnishings. It feels like Vietnam’s history is with you during your stay. We paid for an inclusive breakfast and there were excellent Vietnamese and European option available. The rooftop bar and pool are very relaxing. We were on the 9th floor and there is a lovely sitting room/library with an outdoor terrace which was a nice bonus as we had an inward facing room (a cheaper option on than lake view).

Our internal- facing room was lovely but the lack of real daylight was not great. It would be great if there was information about the hotel artworks.

The Apricot was magnificent! (we actually stayed for five nights, not two, as three were part of a package tour). The location was excellent - we didn't catch any taxis or Grabs for the entire time. Everything in walking distance. I was very impressed by the fact that EVERYTHING worked (eg. lights, doors, safe, etc. - which is unusually good, in my experience). The hotel is very elegant and stately - marble everywhere; grand lobby; excellent staff. Restaurants were excellent and the buffet breakfast was extensive and fine.

Probably the only thing is that because of the atrium above the lobby, the buffet breakfast is spread over a large area and requires quite a bit of walking to gather one's breakfast!

We loved everything about the hotel especially the staff. Location is prime if you’re interested in touring the old city.

Only downside of our stay was the use/cleanliness of the steam and sauna rooms. We feel because of the infrequent use by guests the rooms are not very clean and promote mold and other potential bacteria growth. My wife had severe hives after using the steam room. No this is not common as she uses the steam room at her gym on a daily basis and has never had an issue. The air in the room had a musty smell when we went back to check on our suspicions.

The location was fantastic. Right opposite the lake and in the old quarter. Walking distance to everything. Housekeeping were great - the rooms very clean. Bed comfortable and pillows were just OK. Breakfast was very good although you couldn’t ask for anything different, eg even some baked beans, which were easy to heart up. The staff were a little too attentive when collecting dishes as they collected before we had finished eating. We had upgraded to the lake view room which was lovely. The rooms were a little small as nowhere to put two suitcases, but if that is my only criticism then the stay was perfect. Front office staff were very helpful and concierge staff too. Concierge staff need a little training on tours as when we asked a young girl she had no idea what to recommend except the jeep tour. I imagine you receive commission for booking the tours so she could have been more helpful and let’s face it people are there to see Hanoi.

I had a wonderful experience staying at Apricot Hotel. The location is simply unbeatable – right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore all the key attractions nearby. Absolutely in the Best Best Location! Over looking the lake. Hotel lobby is absolutely stunning, Beautifully presented Hotel. Beautiful music each night in the lobby, you can sit and have a cocktail and soak up up the atmosphere. Staff all very nice. We stayed 2 nights, then checked out as we were heading to Halong Bay on an overnight stay. The Hotel kindly offered to keep our luggage. Rooms are very nice, we had a view over looking the Lake. Beautiful bathroom and BIG shower!

The rooms are incredibly small! The pool on the 10th floor was a let down. For a very over all well presented hotel, the pool area is not inviting!

Liked the location - that was brilliant. The room was ok - but the window looked out onto a brick wall. When construction started next door the hotel was happy to move me to another room (so excellent service). The staff were exceptional and the hotel building was really lovely.

Breakfast was a bit thin for non Vietnamese. Some small croissants and pastries which were not great and only cornflakes and coco puffs as cereals. That was probably the only disappointing thing. I ended up going to starbucks to get bagels, croissants and other things for breakfast.

We staid in the Apricot for 5 nights (Junior Suite). The room was spacious and quiet. Good bed, modern bathroom. The staff was always friendly, cheerful and helpful. They helped us organize two private tours in the area. The breakfast buffet was very nice and offered many options of food. The location is excellent - right in the middle of the old town with Lake Hoan Kiem in immediate proximity. There is a selection of good restaurants nearby, whereby the food of the hotel restaurant is also very nice. We would book the Apricot again anytime.

The lobby and therefore also the restaurant on floor 2 (atrium style) were very cold (deep freeze experience). Hanoi had a cold spell and it made its way into the hotel. But this was the only downside of our stay.
