Both the facilities and staff were amazing. Breakfast buffet has a great selection and all the food tasted amazing. The staff always went above and beyond expectations especially Hannah who made sure our stay was amazing. Sol restaurant had the best service of any place I went to in Vietnam, the way the staff presented the food and served it was very special. Also would definitely recommend getting a massage at solaria the ladies are amazing and I even managed to fall asleep mid massage which I think is peak relaxation.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Solaria Hotel in Hanoi for two separate stays, each for two nights, in their family rooms (201 and 301). From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome, including homemade cake and drinks, along with a detailed explanation of the local area. The staff provided us with a map and excellent suggestions for nearby spots to explore, including the must-visit Banh Mi 25. The hotel itself is perfectly located in the Old Quarter, which made it a great base for exploring the bustling streets of Hanoi. After a busy day in the city, it was such a refreshing place to return to, offering a peaceful escape from the heat and chaos outside. Both family rooms we stayed in comfortably fit our family of five, with one bathroom per room, which was more than enough for us. One highlight of our stay was the night we spent at the hotel’s rooftop bar, where we had a fantastic time and especially enjoyed meeting John. Additionally, we dined at Mia’s Restaurant, located under the hotel, where the food was outstanding, and the service matched the hotel’s high standards. Before we left for an overnight cruise in Ha Long Bay, the staff kindly offered to hold our bags and even prepared some fruit for our trip, showcasing their thoughtful hospitality. Although there was some construction noise from next door in the mornings, it was a minor issue and didn’t detract from our overall experience. In fact, we were excited to return after our time in Ha Long Bay. Overall, Solaria Hotel delivered exceptional hospitality—perhaps the best we experienced during our time in Vietnam. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hanoi.

Nice rooms with a great breakfast and wonderful(!!) restaurant (Mia’s) in the basement. Also a very cool, though a bit pricy) rooftop bar.

Avoid some of the rooms on the 8th floor as the elevator only goes that high up so ALL foot traffic to and from the rooftop plus 9th floor restaurant will wake you early and keep you up at night….

Location was great, room was nice and spacious, shower pressure and hot water the best we experienced across Vietnam. Very clean hotel. Selection of breakfast options was broad. The staff were probably the nicest I've ever experienced at any hotel before, with a few remembering our names and greeting us every time.

Even on the 6th floor you could hear noise from the street, e.g. car horns and amplified music, but this didn't affect our sleep. Only 1 lift would be annoying if the hotel was really busy, but it was OK when we were there. Breakfast is on the 9th floor, but the lift/elevator only goes to 8 so you have to walk up 2 flights of stairs.

This hotel offers a delightful combination of a mini buffet and an à la carte menu, enabling guests to savor both the standard breakfast fare and some local delicacies such as “bun cha,” “pho,” and “xoi xeo.” The highlight of the breakfast, in my opinion, was the fresh juice station, and I particularly appreciated the frequent replenishment of food items. Despite its modest size, the hotel’s staff are remarkably efficient and attentive, striving to create memorable experiences for their guests. Additionally, the hotel’s proximity to Hoan Kiem Lake makes it conveniently located for tourists eager to explore the Old Quarter area.

Nothing to complaint about this property.

Staff in a hotel is very friendly and helpful. They really made our experience worth it and we knew we could count on them. They were always checking on us if we are healthy and if we need anything. This was definitely more than I am used to. We have also received an upgrade of the room to feel more comfortable. Suzanne and Grace were the biggest support to us and we really appreciate them, they really love what they do and they will stay in our hearts for long!

Hotels is older than in the pictures, it is more worn down.

Great location. A few steps to the Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi Cathedral is just around the corner, lots of nice cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Amazing staff. All the staff are so attentive and competent. Excellent hospitality. They try to respond quickly to guest requests. I asked the reception in the middle of the night for a reservation for the next day's water puppet show, and the tickets arrived in the morning right after breakfast. Friendly staff in the breakfast room, with a great selection of both prepared dishes and a la carte options. The spa and the rooftop bar are also nice. The hotel and the staff made our six-nights stay really comfortable.

Prefer disposable slippers rather than the reusable straw-woven pairs provided in the room for hygiene reasons.

Our family’s recent stay at Solaria Hanoi Hotel, this summer, was unlike any other in all of our travels. We were overwhelmed by the warmth and incredibly thoughtful attention of its staff, from the moment of check-in to when we left, and every little moment in between. For example, when one of us wasn’t feeling well, staff brought him tea with honey and ginger daily, or when they noticed that our daughter hadn’t been to the dining room for breakfast, they offered to bring it to her, or when we had left our phone in a cab, Reception was able to contact the driver right away and helped make arrangement for its prompt return. While we very much appreciated the elegant, refined Vietnamese interior décor of the hotel, very lovely, well-appointed, spacious rooms, delicious complimentary breakfast offerings, and very close proximity to Hoan Kiem Lake, we can’t say enough good things about its staff – thoughtful, attentive, joyful, kind – simply put, they’re the very best! We always felt so well cared for! The level of service provided by Solaria Hanoi Hotel is exceptional, second to none!!! If we have the opportunity to return to Hanoi, we will choose Solaria Hanoi Hotel again, and again. Its excellence will wow you. Thank you for leaving us with such an awesome feeling.

Nothing.

Before we had even stepped foot in Vietnam, the team at Solaria reached out to see how they could enhance our trip. For several months myself and Ryan conversed, with him imparting his expert knowledge of both Hanoi and Vietnam, to help us organise our trip. We were then met by a very friendly and careful driver when we landed late at night at the airport who took us to the hotel which is conveniently located within the Hoan Kiem district, of the Old Quarter, literally a stones throw away from the lake. The check in process was smooth and simple and both Susan and Lily went out of their way to recommend attractions, made sure we had all the details of the hotel and provided us with SIM Cards which they ensured worked. The room itself was well appointed and was just what we needed. It had more than enough space for the two of us and the bathroom was huge! Breakfast each day was plentiful with a good array of both Western and Vietnamese options, as well as those for vegetarians. Each morning we were greeted by a friendly member of staff who provided further recommendations for activities based on the days weather and who checked that you had a good nights sleep and whether there was anything additional for the room. We also took advantage of the Sky Bar which had great views (we were even provided with hot water bottles as it was slightly chilly) and the massage service which was great and reasonably priced. Prior to arriving Ryan also helped book our Ha Long Bay cruise, and even checked in on us after we had checked out to make sure everything had gone well and we had arrived at our onwards destination safely. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi and would like to thank Susan, Lily and Ryan for everything they did to make the trip so Special.
