A small hotel up a narrow passage off a busy street...a quiet surprise! AND our bedroom had 3 windows - that's quite something in Hanoi! We opened them often and being set back off the street, it was not noisy at all. A decent size bedroom with a small desk, kitchen counter and small bathroom. All we needed. Breakfast was simple but adequate. A good place to stay in lovely Hanoi - an easy stroll to just about everywhere in the Old Quarter, and very close to Hoan Kiem Lake. Small supermarket across the road, lovely shops, banks, restaurants, French cafes, bars... Good value for money in that location. Brilliant team! Kevin was astounded we hadn't downloaded Grab so did it all for us and gave us a quick lesson. Thanks Kevin - Grab made a huge difference to the rest of our Vietnam trip. Most hotels allow guests to leave extra luggage when going off for a day or two up to Sapa or to Ha Long Bay - these guys go the extra mile and have a guest bathroom on the ground floor for after-checkout use, free of charge. We had some stuff to see to before our overnight train to Hue and spent our entire after-checkout afternoon on our computers in the dining room. The big hotel rules don't cover this kind of personal service.

Entry to the hotel is not very appealing. But once you enter the hotel it’s a totally different atmosphere. So it really didn’t matter what the entrance area looked like.

Ruby and The Team were fantastic! They helped us with booking taxis to and fro and day trips to Halong Bay and Ninh Binh at very reasonable prices. The staff are all friendly and eager to please. The breakfast menu has lots of variety and was great! We enjoyed our stay so much that we rebooked this hotel on our last night back in Hanoi from Da Nang on our journey homewards. I can highly recommend staying here. It is such value for money and everything comes with a warm welcome and a happy smile!

Me and my husband spent a fantastic week in Hanoi and we stayed at Golden Sunshine Villa Hotel & Travel. We loved the place and all the staff. They have been amazing. The room was big and very clean. It was very comfortable. The position of the hotel was perfect: we were in the centre of Old Quarter and it was easy to move around. The staff was so kind! They went to buy some soy milk just for me as I could not drink milk. I am really thankful for that. The food was delicious at breakfast and cooked at the moment. We loved the pancakes! The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. They helped finding good places to eat, not getting scammed by people and even ordered a raincoat for my motorbike online and got it delivered to the hotel for me. Also, they were always reachable on whatsapp if i needed some quick help. Really really great staff! Breakfast was very simple but good. The location is quite good.

The room could have been a bit cleaner, but it was ok. Every morning, I saw the cleaning-personnel barefoot chilling on their phones in the guest-rooms they were cleaning. That was a bit weird... I didn't want them to do that in my room.

Our stay at Golden Sunshine Villa Hotel was absolutely excellent. From the moment we arrived, Kevin went above and beyond to make our experience smooth and memorable. He helped us arrange airport transfers, book an incredible Ha Long Bay cruise, secure tickets to the water puppet show, and organize our return trip to the airport — truly exceptional service. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the breakfast options were varied and delicious. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the Old Quarter in Hanoi, within walking distance of everything you’d want to see or do. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi — and I would definitely stay here again on a future trip. Thank you to Kevin and the entire team for a wonderful stay!

Very friendly helpful staff was more like a family running a hotel they assisted us with every problem. We had without us even asking don’t be concerned to ask if you need assistance with anything great breakfast with dishes made to order as well as al a carte rooms were large and were great price especially considering the location hang trong st is in 1 of the best locations in the old quarter All rooms we sound proofed great restaurants and retail nearby Very short walk to the lake Do not be put off by the entrance the corridor opens up to the reception area and as stated the rooms were large and comfortable Try booking direct with them they will offer same discounts and it is cheaper because no fees are applied

The location was right in the heart of the Old Town area. We could just walk everywhere. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hot water runs out very quickly and wifi isn’t very strong but we were hardly in our rooms

A simple hotel, that had everything we needed. The location was great with easy access around the Old Quarter, lots of food and shops. Staff were amazing, including organising laundry, drivers and tours. They always had a smile on their faces and were considerate and helpful. For what we paid it was great overall.

Place was due for a coat of paint and a refit but its ok, if you dont need flashy. We had a two bedroom apartment for a family but the hot water only lasted a few minutes, so showers were annoying.
