Great location in the square. We caught the coach from Bilbao airport to Bilbao coach park in the centre . Coach park had taxis waiting so we were at the accommodation quickly . On leaving the taxis outside the hotel took us back to the coach park to continue our journey . We walked into the centre to eat and drink , finding it safe to walk around as two females .

We would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room and the hairdryer was difficult to use . The breakfasts were around 10€ and could have been better . I would have liked egg of some sort and tomatoes with my bacon, potato fruttato and beans. Didn’t have toast as the toaster was proving to be very slow .

Size of room was really good. Bed very comfortable, windows on three aspects of this corner room. Great views of city, park, river. Lovely thick towels in bathroom with free toiletries. Location was the best. Breakfast was good, cakes and pastries were brilliant. Coffee and fresh juices good quality. Carrot cake was amazing. Fruit selection great. We were on first floor, which was a bit unnerving at first because it felt like everyone from outside could see you. When we looked from outside, the glass is mirrored so nobody can see in during the day. Lots of bars, restaurants, shops, right on your doorstep. Fabulous square right behind with loads of bars with great pintxo. Fabulous.

Had to ask for a kettle and water, which were the main reasons I paid more for a superior room. They got them straight away, but I thought they'd put us in a normal double, so I had to go and ask!! Bathroom tiles bit mouldy and a couple cracked...again for a superior room expected more. Hairdryer was awkward to keep on. You had to squeeze the handle quite tightly to keep it going. Cooked breakfast items stone cold.

Breakfast was included in the deal, and was very good. I particularly liked the bacon, sausage and tomato. There was a great deal of choice. Location was excellent being on the edge of the old town. Loved sitting in the Plaza Nueva and watching the kids play football in the late afternoon. Local people are very kind, they helped us out so many times.

There was a TV in our room, but there were no English-speaking channels.

The location is perfect. It's in the city center, within 1 minute of the city's cafes and historic places. We had a room on the 6th floor, under the roof. The windows in the ceiling were an interesting experience. We experienced rainy weather, but it was no problem with them. The room was clean. The bathroom, towels - all clean. The staff is helpful I didn't try the breakfast in the hotel, so I can't say anything about it.

There was no electric kettle in the room, but the receptionist helped me and provided access to the dining room, so I made myself a cup of tea. Thanks! Also, the bed is a bit narrow. Not a problem for us, just if you expect asomething else.

Sercotel Arenal is wonderfully located in Casco Viejo, the old town, and very close to many attractions. Our room on the 4th floor was quite spacious, with comfortable beds and spotless cleanliness. They took care of the cleanliness and replenished the coffee capsules daily. From the huge windows, we could see Arenal Park directly opposite, Teatro Arriaga to the right, and San Nicolas church to the left. We spent hours gazing at the view. The staff was always smiling and very polite. It was a stay that we all genuinely enjoyed, and we would definitely choose it again.

I have allergies, including a dust mite allergy, and our son has flare-ups of atopic dermatitis. During our stay, my allergic rhinitis worsened so much that one antihistamine pill wasn't enough, and I had to take two. The same happened with our son's atopic dermatitis; he started scratching frantically. As I mentioned earlier, the room was spotless. The only thing I can suspect, without being 100% sure, is the potential presence of dust mites in the mattress. Just a friendly suggestion to check it out. Nevertheless, we had a fantastic time!

The Sercotel Arenal Bilbao is a wonderful property. It's located in Old Town & near many of Bilbao's attractions, including the Guggenheim Museum, Central Mercado, restaurants, shops & bars. The hotel is located across the street from the River & a lovely park that happened to be hosting the annual Bilbao Blues Festival, which was a huge bonus, as the music was incredible. We would definitely stay at this property again.

We had ordered breakfast for 2 days but we had an early start last day so were told a breakfast would be packed for us. We received a ham sandwich made of 2 stale slices of bread, no butter and 1 slice of ham! 1 apple and a very tiny croissant. No water or a drink! Very disappointed. Paid €12 each for that!

Room was small, but comfortable and cleaned well daily. The location was excellent, would highly recommend this hotel for that reason. Nice breakfast room, good service, a variety of breakfast foods, something for everyone.

Very noisy if the window was opened, had to close it in order to be quiet enough to sleep and the room needed fresh air! We don’t need much TV but at least one channel for news in English, French possible.

We had the corner room on the second flood. It was wonderful. Loved all the windows and the view! The room also came with a tub and hot water. And the bathroom was a good size. The location is also great. It's a short walk to the train station and a good spot for visiting the museums and the old town.

There was no lounge where you can stay and read a book. Room was too small. Suggestion: make use of the breakfast room, which is only used for breakfast between 07:00 and 10:30 hrs, for an area with comfortable chairs as a lounge. Coffee machine is already operational there after breakfast…
