Lovely room, comfy beds Breakfast was Very good

Booked a table for dinner, service was very slow, didn't have what I chose from the menu (which they took 15 minutes to tell me)or my 2nd or third choice orded burger and chips when it came the chips weren't cooked they took them back and we were told it would be half an hour for new ones!! A few minutes later they brought out the chips we'd had originally they'd just cooked them more which we ate because we were hungry and didn't want to wait half an hour and our burgers would have been eaten or cold? !! For new ones. There was no apology nothing for the inconvenience.

The staff was amazing and made our stay very special . They were very helpful and went above and beyond to help us. All the staff went above and beyond to help us with our queries. They even did research for the best places for us to go on Saturday evening. Room was fantastic and breakfast was the best breakfast I have had for a while we will most definitely come back to Birmingham to stay again and we have joined the IHG so we can book were ever we travel in the future

The room very spacious The staff are very special and made our stay exceptioanal we felt at home and didn't want to leave. Breakfast was fantastic the best breakfast I have had in a while. The restraunt served hot and lovely meals at 6pm and breakfast. Didn't want t9 leave was gutted we only booked 1 night could of stayed alot longer.

The room was a very good size and liked the walk in shower with seating area and handrail. Very thoughtful for Senior guests. Breakfast very good.

What was really disappointing was with booking.com. I booked a twin room on-line with booking-com only to find on arrival at the hotel that just a standard room was put through to the hotel from Booking-com and NOT a twin room as I particular made a point of stating on their website!! The hotel was fully booked the first night, but they made an effort to get a twin room for our final night. I was told that this is something that booking.com do, just specify a standard room and I was shown this by the staff what they received from booking.com. I am therefore very unlikely to use booking.com for hotel bookings if this is their standard procedure, as it was very upsetting to share a double bed, not even a king-size bed to share!!

The tiles at the entrance are in need of immediate repair to prevent trips and falls. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful with guests though when we checked in, a longer-term member of staff was talking unkindly to what seemed to be a member of staff in training. She was belittled about having been shown something previously and being unable to complete the task unaided and it wasn't nice. The bed was comfy. The pillows were awful. The hotel was clean. The carpet was vacuumed but could do with a shampoo. The shower was excellent. The breakfast was fantastic. The location was ideal for restaurants, Villa park & other attractions but was out of the way enough to be quiet.

The staff are super friendly and helpful - I loved Sian and Sofia ( who was on night duty) - all the staff were thoughtful and helpful and made me feel seen and welcome. I liked the diversity of the staff and patrons. I was able to loan an international power adapter and they will allow you to use the restaurant area for your own meals, if you'd rather not eat food in your room. I was given a goodie back with candy and water and a lovely room on the second floor - it was clean and attractive, the bed was great and the shower strong. As part of the IHG group they meet the standards required to make the stay worthwhile. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

They will impose a parking fee of 100 pounds if you dont register visitors vehicles, I think that needs to be explained more clearly at reception that this goes for ALL cars. We had to call to get them to cancel the fine. Just be mindful of the parking rules. Otherwise a great place to relax and unwind, lovely view from the window and peaceful and quiet. Loved being here.

Warm, friendly staff who were quick to answer any queries I had about late check in, parking for a friend picking me up and local amenities. Room was huge with a comfy chair, clean bathroom and bed was so so comfy. Staff signed me up to a rewards programme so I could get late check in and collect points for future visits. Breakfast was fresh and delicious with plenty on offer to suit all tastes.. £60 for a single visitor is great value for money. I usually have to beg for an ironing board at other hotels. One comes as standard in the room - iron had great steam too!

Free car park 15 min drive from Edgbaston stadium Decent breakfast options, good diner options that made it easy to eat on site rather than drive around after a long day at the cricket ( however there is StarCity thst is 5-10 min walking distance from here )

Not the hotel’s fault- i chose wrong location for the cricket as no other option available. Its bit pricey to travel back by Cabs after the match due to distance from Edgbaston.

Plenty, good choice at breakfast

The evening meal menu was not good if you couldn’t eat fried food and was not very hot. Had fish and chips. Fish was appeared to be prepared and was tasted as if it was very dry and uninteresting, mushy peas were cold mentioned it to the waitress when she cleared the table she didn’t make any useful comment. Al. Told found the food and menu not suitable for our diets. Breakfast was not hot enough. The two USB sockets either side of the bed in room 301 were broken and unusable. Was rushing to leave and reception was busy so it wasn’t mentioned.

Aaron on reception from the moment we got there was polite and very friendly and welcoming, the room was extremely spacious and we all loved the little note in the bathroom stating if you had forgotten something not a problem you had spares and to just notify you if we needed anything. When we went down to breakfast we loved how hot the food was but also how clean the area was, being a serve your own we was aware there would be abit of untidiness due to this fact and there wasn't any at all. All the staff in the morning were polite and welcoming, which helped us stay relaxed for our breakfast. As a group of 4 (2 twin rooms) we all loved our experience and can't wait to book a visit again, to which we are already planning for next year.

It was clean and pretty much everything worked well, (except perhaps the TV remote, which was a trivial thing!). The room was quiet (with the windows closed) in a busy traffic area and comfortable, with good hanging for clothes. The shower cubicle was brilliant. And the room very well provided. The staff were very welcoming after a long tiring day, and breakfast was excellent.

The entrance was hard to find at night and not brilliantly sign posted in an area heavy with distracting roadworks. But good old sat nav won through.
