Great location 5 minutes walk from the coach station and 10 minutes walk to The Bullring Shopping Mall. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and booked me in straight away and showed me to my dormitory bed, showers, toilets and kitchen. My bed was warm and comfortable with a privacy curtain, locker and electric socket. Breakfast included apples, oranges, bananas, bread/toast with jams, marmalades, peanut butter, Nutella and tea/ coffee. It had a nice lounge area for chilling out with free tea and coffee anytime of day. Kitchen for cooking yourself with a microwave and refrigerator for storing food. Would definitely stay here again and thoroughly enjoyed my 6 nights here.

All good.

Close to a wedding reception in The Old Library. Complimentary toast, tea/coffee breakfast - as a hostel, guests do their own washing up. Cctv covers 2 parking spaces and the entrance. 24hr car park £3.80 per day until midnight within about 200 yards and free road parking from 6pm Saturday and all day Sundays. Clean rooms and clean shared bathrooms close-by. I think only one room has an en-suite.

I was happy, but some people may be worried about:- 1) Location is down side streets , though I felt fairly safe with lots of folk walking around late Saturday night. 2) Most guests appeared to be singles staying longer term, but managers have strict rules so that everything is in order.

Great value, very comfy bed, 24 hour access all made it great. The complimentary breakfast bar (toast, coffee, etc) was a pleasant surprise in the morning

No fault on the accommodation at all, but it was a bit nervy finding the place, the general area looks a bit rough/run down, a bit off-putting when you're not from a major city

This was a fantastic stay with great value for money. Staff were lovely and room was large. I booked a single room for so cheap it was only about 10 dollars more than a dorm!

The only thing is the location, whilst I felt safe for the most part, the last turn off the main road to the street the hostel is on is very dimly lit and very scary to walk at night alone especially as a woman. At one point a car stopped right next to me and I thought this was the end... it's only about 200m or less to walk this section but for this reason I might not pick again. I had read this in reviews when booking and I have to agree.

I've been here a few times over the last few years and like this hostel a lot. The beds are comfortable, there are plenty of plug sockets, good WiFi, powerful and plentiful showers (though the nearest free one might not be on your floor!), a good kitchen and lounge space, and helpful staff. I overheard a manager training new cleaning staff, and they have a very thorough procedure for turning over rooms and making sure everything is sanitary. Free coffee and breakfast till 11 are also fantastic and increasingly rare in UK hostels.

I played myself by not checking my old review. I booked a 6 bed room thinking it would be nicer, but at this hostel, the 15 bed rooms have nicer bunks with blackout curtains and their own plug sockets. The (more expensive) 6 bed room has normal bunk beds and plugs near, rather than in, the bunks. I made it work, but I really missed the added privacy and darkness for sleeping. I think it's safe to say they don't plan to update these rooms since it's been 2 years. The only (as far as I know) hair dryer in the hostel doesn't work anymore. The hostel is located next to some busy bars and clubs, so I absolutely recommend bringing ear plugs.

Organised and helpful staff. Entrance with code and code cards, heavy, safe doors, CCTVs. Lots of showers and bathrooms. All clean and with air-wicks [you can rent towels]. Comfortable wooden bunk beds with curtains, power sockets, good stairs to climb. A big-enough locker [take your own safety lock or buy a good one at the reception]. Spacious, clean kitchen. Good, refurbished and clean social area. Good house rules that keep the place low noise and orderly (no loud phone calls, media devices w/o headphones, wash and clean your stuff etc.), rules are reinforced thanks to staff and regulars. A mix of different visitors and nationalities – backpackers, regulars, for work or tourism. 15-25min walk to get around, bus stop/station, train station. Safe room to lock your belongings if you need to [free of charge when staying].

It's a hostel. Oftentimes if something is a bit off it's because of the different type of people visiting or simply the large overturn of people. Staff handle it surprisingly well. The area is industrial – as most of Birmingham. Some might find it a bit off-putting, but once you take a walk – the graffiti around the are is real nice, there are new establishments opening in the old buildings, there are CCTVs, etc. Remember to take care of yourself and your safety first in any place. Some mould developing at one of the showers, but the hostel is working on renovations gradually.

When I travelling solo I always prefer hostels because saves me money and what I need just shower bed and something to eat.Anyway during a day I always like walking around and discovering new places. But honestly this hostel was probably best one I ever stayed. From great location to great accommodation and top personal… I don’t know all of them with names only Arthur but everyone from their team does proper work. They deserve five ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ I wish you all success in future. Marian

There is nothing I dint like maybe just short time staying there but life must go ahead and we must go back to reality worlk etc etc.

Location - 5mins from the main coach station. 10mins-15mins from city centre and main rail stations. Close to shops, etc. Building - Easy to miss but not what you expect to see inside; bright colours, well light, small reception, mini bar, EQUIPPED KITCHEN (missing from website). Staff - Very helpful, friendly, accommodating. Dorms - I stayed in a mixed 6 beds. clean, comfortable, curtains for privacy. Showers - Enough and clean.

Bedside light would complete the dorm. Could do with a fan in the room. I didn't ask, so it may have been available. May be offer a small menu for side orders e.g. chips, garlic bread, olives, tacos. It would need to have sufficient demand for it to work.

I was quite satisfied with the welcome, the cleanliness of the rooms, the bed and the kitchen. The stay was excellent and the room was also well heated.Everything was pretty organized. I enjoyed a nice, hot shower and felt safe. I would definitely go back.

The room where I stayed overlooked a rather noisy street at night. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to sleep well until 3 in the morning.I'd also point out the ladder to get to the upper bed. A bit inconvenient to get down. Luckily there were no drunk people in the room, otherwise I can imagine what it would have been like to sleep in the lower position.

It was an amazing stay second time in the backpackers the staff is is amazing I could honestly mention Visha for being the bestest at all the time. An hard working asset for the Organisation.

Well again the same staff not every staff is the same apart from the above mentioned staff there is only one gentlemen who is kind rest of them absolutely pathetic never knew was I the guest or them at some points but never mind attitude is the biggest problem they have mentioning it when approaching them in the absence of visha, gave me this disappointment. I think the management needs to look after this thing.
