The hotel is in an outstanding location downtown, being close to many of the city's main sites as well as the trendy districts of Yaletown and Gastown. The room was a decent size and very clean and comfortable. Despite only being on the fourth floor, the room also felt quiet.

We didn't use the dining room or other facilities as they seemed very expensive. Perhaps there was some kind of discount for guests but we weren't made aware of it; check-in felt rather rushed and although all the staff we interacted with were polite, I couldn't say anyone seemed particularly warm or friendly (surprisingly, considering how friendly the city seemed to be in general).

The newly renovated rooms are wonderful. We have stayed in a suite the last two times with her two children and it’s a perfect size for a small family. We also love the proximity to the restaurant, which is excellent.

Our only complaint in potential reason for not returning is that our kids love going to the swimming pool and hot tubs during hotel stays. Unfortunately, the swimming pool area could be completely renovated. The floor tile grouting is always dirty, random hairs, and the hot tub water during our last visit looked murky. Even the bathroom had cobwebs as if it doesn’t get cleaned regularly. If you were to upgrade this area without a doubt, this would be our favourite hotel but we have stayed another downtown where the pool area is much cleaner and more modern. It’s definitely an area to consider investing in.

Only two things, specific to our experience, was that on booking.com the description mentioned babysitting facilities (one of the reasons why we chose the hotel as we were travelling with kids) and a free taxi transfer from the airport. Neither of these were available. The babysitting facilities are not in-house (so we went with an external company) and we were told that the shuttle from the airport was not active.

We arrived during the Christmas holidays and at the same time, my partner and I both said that the hotel reminded us of the Home Alone movie. The Hotel was decorated so beautifully! ALL the staff in the entire hotel are friendly and clearly well versed in customer service. The hotel was in a great location of town, very clean and close to everything you need. There is even a wine/beer store attached to the hotel and a grocery store across the street. I really liked that the hotel had its own driveway for pick ups and drop offs. The hotel was buzzing with good energy. The resteraunt was also fantastic! Everything you need in one spot.

There is no fridge for personal items. They provide a fridge full of snacks, drinks and liquor for purchase. You cannot remove the items or you will be charged (weighted items).

The room was very comfortable with a nice view of the city, facing the Fairmont Hotel. The couch by the window was perfect and nice for relaxation between outings. The N espresso coffee and L'Occitane products were a plus. The restaurant looks great though we didn't have any meals there. Great location, easy walk to various parts of town. The staff is courteous and friendly. The two concierge are knowledgeable and gave us good suggestions.

The pool and jacuzzi area could use an upgrade. The bubbles in the jacuzzi barely worked. A suggestion to management is to train the lobby staff in answering some basic questions when the concierge is busy. The staff is very attentive but they should be able to answer questions such as is there a deli or restaurant nearby to get a quick bite to eat, the BC Ferry Connector can pick guests up from the hotel which is a plus if you are heading to Victoria, etc. but the front desk staff was not aware of it which can make guests wonder if they have the right info.

The location of the hotel is great for walking and exploring Vancouver, there’s also a hop on, hop off bus tour stop right outside which is very convenient. The beds are quite simply the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in, rooms are elegant and understated practical luxury. The staff have been super helpful and friendly, charming and efficient. Great buffet breakfast, lovely evening lounge and restaurant. There’s also an exceptional restaurant across the street The Italian Kitchen. Wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, it’s been an absolute joy staying at The Sutton Place.

5 star hotel comes from the service. Nice room and bathroom. Didn’t make use of it myself but could see it in others around. Concierge was friendly. We requested a crib prior to arrival and it was the first time the crib was actually set and ready in the room (usually even though I ask for it in advance when I get there it’s never in the room). Good black out curtains. Had a mini bar but also an extra fridge to store personal things which was great with kids. Lots of drawers to store things too. Pool and gym also great

FIRST-CLASS HOTEL WITH POOL, HOT TUB AND GYM. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Most of the things were pretty good. - The room was clean, big and had everything what one would except (except a ceiling lamp). - All the employees were very very nice and treated me like a guest in a 5* hotel. - Great location! - Fast elevators. - Good restaurant.

There were three major issues: - The wifi was very poor, it was failing very often! Often it disconnected or stopped working and I had to re-login. - Gym was mediocre at best. Very little equipment, no space to put down your phone and/or other things. Most people would probably not be able to do their favorite workout routine fully because surely at least for one of your exercises you would not find the equipment. - No ceiling lamp so the room was always dark even if you switched all the desk or bed lamps on. I think this is a major issue in the whole north America but that doesn't excuse the hotel for not doing better. Overall I think this hotel was not necessarily a 5* but considering the price it was satisfying anyway.

Amazing hotel in the heart of Vancouver downtown. Only 20 min walk from Stanley park, 20 min walk to the ferry to get to grandville public market island, a few steps away from Robson street with all the shopping stores, a few steps from Pacific center just to name a few. The rooms are comfortable! Service is excellent. We would definitely stay again if we ever have the chance to come to this amazing city.

They should definitely include the breakfast. There are so many hotels in Vancouver downtown and almost none of them are offering breakfast included in the price. This would help them stand out from competition. Also note that the steam rooms are located in the lockers one floor up from the pool. You cannot go with your partner which kind of suck a little. It would be nice to have put the steam rooms in a different room so we can share the experience.
