It was my first time staying in a hostel. It was cozy and super clean. The bunk had a lamp, charger and shelf. The blanket was super puffy and cozy. Was easy to sleep! Shower facilties were great with a big soccer to get ready. And free breakfast was served with bagels, fruit, eggs and coffee. I guess it just reopened after a fire and had been completely renovated! Sp I lucked out being there opening week.

I was happy to come back to the Samesun after reopening. Everything is nice and new, bed were comfy, I slept like a baby😊 Complimentary earplugs was helpful.
I think there are still a room for some improvements like some extra hooks for personal stuff in the washrooms and room where is entrance to the shower rooms. Maybe it’s a good idea to add some paper towels to the pre-shower rooms for cleaning sink counter (cuz after some ppl it’s just uncomfortable to use (too much mess-water/hair). And for me it would be great if it was whole floor for women (no mess after beard shaving in the sinks).

Super clean! My first time in a hostel so I didn’t know what to expect exactly but it was a cool experience. I’m hoping my others along the road are like this. The staff are friendly and helpful and always have a smile on their faces. The building like I say is very clean and there’s plenty of privacy in the dorms with the curtains on the beds.
It is in the centre of town so expect there to be noise. But you can grab some earplugs from reception and you’ll be reet. That’s all I can moan about

Facilities are quite new and clean. Staff are welcome and patient. Personal staff could be locked behind the bed with personal locks. There are three types of charging for each bed, which is convenient. The others are higher than expectations, especially the cleanness. Personal food storage box with custom labels.
Didn’t know that the aircon could be turned on or been turned off by other roommates. It was two hot dough nights. The room lighter is just above the head of 02 bed, maybe it is not recommended to turn on the room light but the natural light or personal lights.

The location was good for getting about downtown Vancouver. The free breakfast was a bonus, perhaps I had not realised it was included in the price. My private double ensuite room was small but sufficient for my needs and much more comfortable than if I had been in a 6 bed dormitory.
I have mobility problems and the 29 steps to climb to the first floor was inconvenient. The staff explained it was a listed building and they were not allowed to install a lift.

I liked how convenient the location was. They also had luggage storage for when you arrive to the city earlier than check-in time. I was already in the city a couple of days before and was booked Samesun when I decided to extend one more night. I left my luggage in the morning and checked in near midnight. All went smoothly. They did offer breakfast which I sadly wasn't able to enjoy because I had to leave early for my bus out of the city the next day. Maybe next time.
I paid extra for space in the lower bunk bed but was given top bunk when I got there. I was already tired from the event I attended that day so I chose not to say anything any more and just went with whatever. The 6-bunk dormitory room might seem a bit cramped too, but it wasn't much of an issue given that I just stayed there to sleep. The location, also, albeit very convenient, did seem a bit shady, but that comes with the city, I guess. If you don't mind the loud night life or the occassional homeless people hanging out in the neighborhood then it should be fine. I felt relatively safe despite that.

Good location, decent breakfast (bagels and fruit) and nice interiors. Most staff were helpful and there is relaxed friendly vibe. Comfy bed with curtains, light and small shelf. Excellent value for money.
The air con machine was very loud in the dorm, and the washroom is mixed gender with entire floors having access (although there are individual shower rooms within the washroom). I felt a bit uncomfortable in the sink area when doing my morning routine with random men coming in / out, I wasn’t expecting this and would prefer male or female options.

Brand new facilities. Excellent location for access to buses, trains etc. Big lockers. Comfy mattress. Very secure systems in place for luggage storage. Nice kitchen and hangout areas.
They really need some hooks in the toilet cubicles and more in the showers. The metal lockers are on wheels under the beds, when you move them they hit into each other and the metal bed frames causing a big noise, I was woken up by this ALOT, would be great if they could put some kind of foam bumpers on them to avoid this.

One of the cleanest hostels I’ve ever been. Also, I normally expect to have to queue for showers and bathrooms in such busy hostels in mid July, but it was exactly the contrary. The experience was very pleasant and I felt like home.
Unfortunately the hostel is located in a street that, despite being very centric, is full of home less and drug addicted people. It was totally safe to pass through them, but still, this might create some discomfort.

The hostel was very clean - likely because it had recently reopened. The rooms were big and the beds comfy. The shared facilities were also very clean and there were a lot of them. The location of the hostel was very good - close to parking and close to lots of restaurants and pubs
The staff were incredibly slow but again, likely due to it only being open to a few days prior to the visit.
