It was my first time staying in a hostel. It was cozy and super clean. The bunk had a lamp, charger and shelf. The blanket was super puffy and cozy. Was easy to sleep! Shower facilties were great with a big soccer to get ready. And free breakfast was served with bagels, fruit, eggs and coffee. I guess it just reopened after a fire and had been completely renovated! Sp I lucked out being there opening week.

The hostel has an excellent location — right in the heart of Vancouver, with numerous shops, cafes, and amenities nearby. The rooms are comfortable, and I really liked how the bathrooms are organised. The toilets and showers are in separate cabins, which helps avoid waiting and keeps everything flowing smoothly. They provide towels (which were spotless!) and the bed linen was also spotless. Overall, a great place to stay if you want to be close to everything while still enjoying a cosy and well-maintained space.

The only problem is the door system in the rooms. The doors close automatically but don’t have any kind of soft-closing mechanism. What happens is a constant banging of doors all day and all night — it’s crazy! This was the only thing that really bothered me; it was honestly quite overwhelming.

I was happy to come back to the Samesun after reopening. Everything is nice and new, bed were comfy, I slept like a baby😊 Complimentary earplugs was helpful.

I think there are still a room for some improvements like some extra hooks for personal stuff in the washrooms and room where is entrance to the shower rooms. Maybe it’s a good idea to add some paper towels to the pre-shower rooms for cleaning sink counter (cuz after some ppl it’s just uncomfortable to use (too much mess-water/hair). And for me it would be great if it was whole floor for women (no mess after beard shaving in the sinks).

Good balanced breakfast that’s replenished quickly. Daily cleaning of rooms from 11am. Bedding and bunk is also clean and dust free. Location is also central and near the supermarket and various eateries.

Had to check out and back into another room due to availability, and wanted to leave my luggage in the next room as it was heavy to carry down and up again. The female staff at the front desk was really indifferent to my request, just insisted I carry my luggage down to the basement and offered no help. Only consolation was that the male staff do offer to help when they notice me struggling with my bags. Space in the room for luggage was also limited, but you get what you pay for.

Super clean! My first time in a hostel so I didn’t know what to expect exactly but it was a cool experience. I’m hoping my others along the road are like this. The staff are friendly and helpful and always have a smile on their faces. The building like I say is very clean and there’s plenty of privacy in the dorms with the curtains on the beds.

It is in the centre of town so expect there to be noise. But you can grab some earplugs from reception and you’ll be reet. That’s all I can moan about

The hostel is in a great location. Easy access to all the tourist attractions in the city. Great service, friendly staff, and a great atmosphere.

I stayed there twice during the same week. For the first two nights, I stayed in a room for six women. The room was cramped, with hardly any space to move around. I slept in the top bunk, and it was awful getting in and out. During the second part of my trip, when I checked in early, I requested (and paid extra) for my bed to be placed on the lower bunk in the same room with six people. When I arrived, the staff gave me another room with four people and the bed I wanted, as there was no room for me in the six-person room. I loved it and didn't pay anything extra for it!

The location is at downtown, accessible to almost everything. Although it's noisy downstairs, surprisingly, the room is pretty quiet and I had a good sleep. The breakfast is great, nutritious, and matches my expectations. The staff is friendly, and check-in is quite smooth. The room is clean, the bed is comfy, and the bathrooms are well-maintained.

The only complaint would be the smell of the room. I stayed in room#308. When I entered the room, I could smell a strong, sweaty odor, not the fresh type, but rather the dried-out smell. Unsure if other rooms have a similar situation. The room needs more ventilation for sure, or open the window more. After I stay in the room for a while, maybe my nose gets used to the smell so I don't notice it anymore. But when I exit the room and come back, I can smell it again.

You just can’t beat the location. Free breakfast is served from 8-11am every day with decent selection. They also have a row of fridges for folks to keep their food. Cookware, kitchenware and dinning table ware are supplied free of charge. You will just clean them yourselves. The facility overall is clean. They also offer free day language storage if you have some time to spare after checking out.

I’m 5’2” and was assigned to lower bunk bed. Even I can’t sit upright so it’s difficult to image someone taller than me doing so. Also, while the bathrooms and shower rooms are overall clean, they are relatively tight but still manageable. No elevators so if you plan to bring heavy suitcases, be aware the walk upstairs might challenging. Also, book early if you can, the rates are better.

Very well equipped (curtains, drawer to put your belongings and lock it so it is safe, individual light and outlet). The bed sheets were also very good and fresh ! The kitchen is big and fully equipped, I also enjoyed the breakfast (bagels, fruits and veggies, yogurt, etc.) and common area. Bathrooms are good, you can find a hair dryer in each one, as well as free products left from other people. It was nice to have an individual cabin to shower and change without being disturb by other people passing by.

The dorm room (6 females) was really really small ! You cannot stand or cross in the middle of the room if there is another people. It also makes it hard to access your locker.

Friendly, clean, free breakfast, unlimited tea/coffee, all set kitchen, comfortable bunk. Join the free tours — they worth it!

The water pressure isn’t the best, the bunks all made from the metal = noisy. The main street full of addicted people and on Friday/Saturday you won’t able to sleep without the earplugs. No option to open the windows, but AC (but not very clear how to use). Too many tasty bagels on the breakfast 😄
