I booked a day trip because I wanted to experience the suite with a private onsen! I booked a traditional Japanese room and I was blown away! My accommodation had dinner and breakfast included and I would highly recommend it! The dinner was absolutely amazing with an incredible service! I had dinner in my room and I was explained each dish! I have never tasted such rich flavours and everything was extremely fresh! The crab was the star but towards the end, I had no idea what my favourite dish was, so I would just say all! The chef is spectacular! For breakfast there was a lot of choice! From Western cuisine to Japanese and you were free to choose whatever you wanted! The private onsen in the suite was amazing and all staff was extremely helpful and kind! They have free shuttle buses to Kinosaki but the hotel is also fully stocked with anything you might need! I’m so happy I went with the suite and with this hotel in particular! My only regret is only booking one night and not staying longer! I can’t wait to come back and make new memories!

Such a lovely stay here. From the start my room was impressive and better than the pictures. The rooms are huge and very modern with everything you need. One of the best part in the property is its own onsen with internal/external pool, sauna, massage chair. The lounge and store are cosy and lovely to browse and relax in. Staff and Restaurant were amazing! The food and presentation was flawless and delicious. You are very close to the other public onsens. I walked to them all which was enjoyable but there is a very convenient service shuttle bus for morning, afternoon and evenings drop off and pick ups

Unforgettable stay. While the hotel is not small it still carries a high end boutique feel. I can't say enough about the hotel's staff, rooms and grounds. We stayed three nights in a gorgeous traditional room with tatamis on the 6th floor overlooking a majestic pines valley. Waking up to this sight was a dream. The entire suite was gorgeous. Fresh flowers and budding branches every day as well as beautifully wrapped fresh treats. Such a serene atmosphere! The onsen (hot mineral bath) on site is also lovely as well as the lounge area where we had a daily beverage (provided free of charge with our accommodation) gazing at a lovely waterfall . The hotel is 5 minutes by foot from the small town and we visited every single other onsen there as well. The town is lovely with many restaurants, coffee shops and a beautiful hike to a couple temples that we were able to visit. We had ordered traditional dinners in our room. What a treat! This was a two hours dinner curated by a staff member. Again absolutely stunning. Finally I must mention the large breakfast hall where you could find absolutely anything from traditional Japanese food to western continental breakfast. The food was EXQUISITE. Roasted chestnuts and sweet potatoes, shumais, perfectly grilled small salmon filets, lychees and excellent coffee among many other things. I still dream about it...

The property is very beautiful and well maintained and clean. The onsen was especially beautiful - and it was hardly ever full (I had it to myself multiple times!) - better than any of the public bathhouses. We also had dinner the first night and it was exceptional - we didn’t expect to have our own room! While the property is furthest away from the town we did not mind this. The free shuttle was very useful in getting our luggage to and from the train station!

The value for your money didn’t seem quite worth it - we paid top dollar (much more than our hotels in Kyoto and Tokyo which had comparable facilities). Our room faced the parking lot and buildings which was disappointing as the hotel seemed quite empty.

We stayed at the Nishimuraya Hotel in Kinosaki, and it was an amazing experience. The hotel is very impressive and beautiful, with top-notch service. The staff are extremely professional. The rooms, which are traditional ryokan style, looked fantastic. Room service was excellent, everything was very comfortable, and the view was beautiful. We got to the hotel using the free shuttle they provided. The hotel also arranged traditional Japanese kaiseki dinners, which were simply amazing. It was a true feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Kinosaki is known for its onsen, and we visited all of them, but we liked the one at our hotel the most. It was spacious, had a beautiful courtyard view, and even a sauna, which you won't find in other onsens. The staff were incredibly helpful, providing us with extra clothing because it was cold, and they even allowed a late checkout so we could enjoy the hotel's facilities after checking out. Overall, it was a wonderful two days, and we felt like we were in paradise. Everything was very relaxing, meditative, beautiful, and of the highest quality.

The service was incredible and they did an excellent job of anticipating special things we wouldn’t have even thought to ask for, like arranging a ride to our dinner for us without a request. We really enjoyed the onsen on the property and honestly thought it was a much more luxurious experience than any of the other 4 public onsens we visited. We also rented the Chinese style private onsen for some special time soaking together and it was beyond. Haven’t felt that pampered in awhile. We also did an in-room couples massage afterward which I thought was priced very reasonably. Also, the buffet was huge with so many yummy options to choose from. I was stoked!

The only downside to this place in my opinion is that it’s not right in the middle of things. About a 10 minute walk to get downtown. But honestly after checking out the other onsens I felt like I had everything I needed on site. I also personally liked being a little more removed and closer to the gorgeous nature that surrounds the hotel.

Gorgeous hotel at the edge of Kinosaki Onsen on bus route. Supplied yukatas and slippers. We stayed in the Japanese style room with a full bath. The hotel has it's own private bath that is better than the baths in town! Each night they made Japanese style beds in our room, which was huge, like 15 tatami mats or something. We slept so well in their beds. The pillows were a combination of western and buckwheat pillows and I slept great on them. They offer a welcome drink and breakfast was good. We had an evening pressurepoint massage that was interesting and fun, and we basically just went to sleep afterwards. I felt I needed to explore the city, but really one could spend the time in the hotel and have an excellent RnR time. I suggest 2 nights. We did the prix fixed private meal. My husband who loves seafood and crab loved it. I, someone who doesn't eat/like much seafood found it terrifying. They did adjust mine in very elegant and respectful ways, and asked about and respected my food limitations, but there were things I didn't even consider I needed to communicate. I should have requested vegetarian. If you don't love crab/seafood, maybe go vegetarian if you do the private dining. That said, my hb said the crab meal was amazing. The sake was excellent. And we had a great meal in town our second night (Gina pizza).

I could have communicated my food limits better, because they did their best to accommodate. This hotel really went out of their way to make your stay extraordinary. It's worth the price.

This property is absolutely gorgeous. We went for my birthday and the view from the room was so beautiful it didn’t seem real. The staff were helpful even making sure my Yakuta was on correctly. They gave me a birthday gift. If you stay here please use their private and public Onsen! Also if you walk past the pool there is another gorgeous waterfall behind the chapel that flows into a coi pond. There’s also a small temple and moss covered stairs that are sooo incredibly serene. I hope to come back soon and stay longer

They have many onsite restaurants but couldn’t make a reservations for us onsite. The town nearby shuts down early and we weren’t made aware of that… only that transportation pauses during this time. After a couple hours some of the shops and restaurants open back up later but we weren’t aware of this and it caused us to have to search desperately for food without this knowledge. We ended up finding a restaurant called “China” it was extremely delicious so we weren’t too disappointed. The bus stops don’t gave any signage for the specific ones they stop at so pay attention closely where you are. All in all it was still a great experience

Every member of the staff was so kind and accommodating. They really want to give you the best experience. They always greet us and when we have inquiries they're always ready to help. They also have a shuttle to pick us up after we roam around the area. So exploring the area is going to be easy. They also ask you what time you will be checking out so they can schedule a shuttle for you when you need to go back to the station. They also handled bringing our baggage to the station. The onsen room was so comfy and so beautiful! I really loved it! They also had a separate private onsen which we rented and it was like a dream! It was a really lovely experience since it was my first time trying the onsen~ Loved the breakfast here as well. My overall experience was so great, I recommended this hotel to friends and I would absolutely love to go back if ever we have a trip near the area!

A Serene, Luxurious Getaway at Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei Our stay at Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei in Kinosaki Onsen was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome with their warm and attentive service. The hotel effortlessly combines traditional Japanese elegance with modern comfort, offering an immersive experience that left us feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. The room was spacious and beautifully designed, featuring stunning views of the lush surrounding gardens. The highlight was the private onsen bath on our balcony—soaking in the mineral-rich waters while enjoying the tranquil scenery was truly unforgettable. Although we didn’t have dinner at the hotel, the breakfast was a standout, featuring a selection of traditional Japanese dishes that were both delicious and beautifully prepared. The attention to detail in every aspect of the meal made it a delightful start to the day. The onsen facilities were pristine, offering both indoor and outdoor baths that provided the perfect retreat after a day of exploring Kinosaki. The hotel also provides a convenient shuttle service to the various public onsens in town, which made it easy to fully enjoy the onsen-hopping experience. If you’re looking for a luxurious and peaceful escape, Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei is an ideal choice. The combination of impeccable service, beautiful surroundings, and relaxing onsen facilities made our stay truly memorable. We can’t wait to return!
