The beds were comfortable and the women’s floor was fairly quiet. Breakfast was convenient to have in the mornings, and it was nice chatting with others who were staying at UNPLAN while I was there. Location is great too - it’s across the street from 7/11 and an 10ish minute walk from about 3 stations (including Shinjuku)

Some visitors were loud and could be heard out the windows in the evenings (I hear the mixed dorms can be a little rowdy). Other than that, I wish breakfast options were a little more varied but what was offered was tasty! UNPLAN is cashless, so it was a tiny challenge finding enough 100yen coins to do laundry on-site - buying something at 7/11 to get change was recommended.

The breakfast (2 slices of bread, margarine/jam/honey, 2 eggs, apple juice/coffee/tea, yoghurt) was good. The location (9 - 15 mins walk to the subways, Shinjuku Station) is great. Many convenience stores nearby (7-Eleven just opposite). Dormitory is ventilated. Ample space in the capsule bed (with a locker, shelf, space for a medium-sized backpack, light, power points, curtain). There's a lift. Ample number of toilets and bathrooms (shampoo/soap provided). Umbrellas available for guests to borrow. Great lounge with well equipped kitchen area and fridge for guests to use. Big space (with TV) next to the reception area for meeting people. Great hardworking friendly staff ready to offer whatever assistance they can. Baggage storage for use before check in and even after checking out (locked after 10pm) - my favourite feature.

The staff were ALL amazing and a big shout out to Glenda at the front desk who organised a taxi for us for 5am the next day. The staff were all very friendly and helpful especially the staff in the restaurant. A big shout out to the cleaning staff who did a great job in keeping the shared bathrooms tidy with so many messy people using them.

That being right opposite the bathroom unit on 4th floor, there were no rules in place to ban people from speaking loudly in the corridor at 2am or even more so blow drying their hair at 4am. The mess some of the women left in the bathroom facility was a disgrace but again the cleaning staff did their utmost.

The solo travelling style, the bar downstairs gave a great place for me to meet people from all around the world. The staff were great, the convenience store being across the street, it was cool in the rooms, overall very enjoyable experience and would stay again

If I'm being nit picky, it was just a little too far from Shinjuku station itself. Sanchome Shinjuku station was nearby which offered useful lines, but being a 15-20 min walk from Shinjuku meant that when returned from a long day out and about I had that extra 15-20 mins before I could rest. But this is negligible.

The place is very clean. Lots of showers so you dont have to wait a long time to use. The capsule is pretty spacious. I had room for myself and my bag (i had only a backpack) and the bed is very confortable. Even though the room has lots of beds, therefore lots of people, it is pretty silent and you can rest. No fights because of lights or air conditioning, as everything is controlled only by the staff.

The place doesnt have a locker for the bags. The room has plenty of space to leave your bags, but no lockers. Inside the capsule there is a small safe for your valuable belongings, but mine was broken.

Clean, good value for money. We had a private room for four people, a double bed and two futons with a shared bathroom and shower. The room was surprisingly spacious and in the top floor we had no issues with any noise. There is a free Western-style breakfast buffet and a 7-eleven right across the street. You can store you food in the shared kitchen. A washing machine is also available. There are some social events in the common space, but we spent very little time at the hostel apart from sleeping.

It's quite a walk from the nearest station. The luggage storage room has limited capacity before it becomes very disorganized. We had to climb over other peoples' suitcases to get to our own.

Very social accommodation, breakfast was complimentary, spacious and comfortable beds, dorms were clean and quiet, the rooms allowed for privacy, made many new friends staying there, close to key train lines and attractions (park, Golden Gai's, clubbing district, shopping district etc), 7/11 opposite

no shoe policy in the shower room (wanted to wear flip flops), not always but there may be a male cleaning the female only dorm, no normal plug outlets in dorms, only usb ones (you have to go downstairs for bigger devices/ chargers), breakfast could have more range (food was yoghurt, granola, boiled eggs, bread, croissants, English muffins and cocktail sausages with condiments) but for the price its decent and creates a good social space

The location is only good for one thing - exploring Shinjuku and going out at night to the Golden Gai area. It's a social "party hostel". Thankfully the capsule in the female dorm was very quiet and comfortable and I didn't have problems with drunk people. The breakfast was really nice.

The location is very inconvenient for exploring the rest of Tokyo or getting in/out of Tokyo. If you look closely at the connections, you'll discover the best option is to walk 20 minutes to Shinjuku station... it's far! I wouldn't recommend booking your whole Tokyo stay here, just 1-2 nights. It's a nice hostel but just overpriced and slightly overhyped. I've been to 5 different hostels in Tokyo and I don't think the price is justified. The female showers/toilets got a bit dirty pretty quickly, the cleaning staff couldn't keep up with the crowd.

Favourite hostel I’ve stayed in so far. The bed was super comfortable and I had plenty of space for my stuff. The other guests were very quiet and respectful inside the bedrooms but all very friendly in the common areas. (I stayed in a women only dorm). I made a lot of friends very quickly and ended up having some of the best nights of my whole trip! The location was fantastic, only a short walk to a trains station, and Golden Gai and Kabukicho were right around the corner. There was a 7/11 right across the road too which was awesome. Definitely recommend grabbing some drinks and watching the sunset from the roof one evening. Loved this place and would return!

The only thing is that sometimes the bathrooms (like, the shower rooms) could get a bit messy - girls leaving their underwear or other belongings by accident, or general rubbish lying around. It was never DIRTY though, and I never felt like it was gross or dirty.

Despite being quite a walk away from the train stations, the neighborhood where UNPLAN is located it very nice and very quiet. It had a lot of convenience store and food options nearby. The lobby was cozy and also quite stylish. The bunks themselves were nice. My friend and I also found it really cool that the property organizes events for the people staying there like movie nights, and other activities.

While I like the location a lot for being quiet, clean, and having a lot of food options nearby, it isn't convenient to access for people who travel with big luggage from the train and bus stations. It's understandable that the luggage space in the rooms are limited, however it really makes the entrance really crowded.
